Carmen stayed with Lexa in her room, as the heretic was trying to control her impulses and not feed from the Anderson. Carmen felt safe though, trusting that she could fight Lexa off if she tried to feed from her.
Giorgia entered the room after a few minutes, holding a mug in her hand. "Coffee for my bestie, just how you like it. Except this time, there's blood." The Garcia said, handing the mug to Alexia. "Thanks Gigi." Lexa offered a weak smile.
"So... why are you here?" Lexa asked, as both Carmen and Giorgia's eyes trailed down to the purple stoned necklace that hung around Lexa's neck, the one that was identical to theirs.
Giorgia reached out and poked the sparkling stone, "Because of this." She said, before her face faltered. "We couldn't feel you, Lexa."
"Isabella gave us a bit of insight on Mystic Falls... apparently she is close to your sister, so Bella did a bit of digging and found out that this town has a major vampire problem." The brunette stated.
"Yeah... you can count me as apart of that vampire problem now." Lexa huffed, taking a long sip of her coffee. When she pulled the mug away from her lips, her eyes moved up to the Stellar witches, who were sitting hand in hand.
"I'm scared." The Gilbert confessed. Her breath hitched in her throat before she explained, "I want blood... in the same way I wanted drugs, all that time ago."
Giorgia's face fell, remembering what Lexa was like before she started going to NA. The girl feared going down that path again, especially because if she became a blood addict— basically a ripper— she'd risk killing people.
"We'll be here for you, Lexa." Carmen said, with a weak smile before Giorgia added, "Every step of the way."
Lexa put her empty mug down on her nightstand, before she faced the witches again. "Thank you. Seriously, I love you guys." The Gilbert said, as the couple smiled back at her. "I love you too." Giorgia and Carmen both responded.
"But you... both will eventually have to go to Belgium." Lexa added, eyeing the pair, though they didn't seem to tease the girl back.
"Actually... we're transferring here." Giorgia spoke up, "We both agreed that we need a new start." Carmen added, squeezing Giorgia's hand gently, as this seemed to be a touchy subject for her.
"But... your families?" Lexa blurted, as tears filled Giorgia's eyes. "Alexander and I... don't have a family anymore." The Garcia said, referring not only to herself but her younger brother, Alexander Garcia.
Lexa's face faltered, "What? Why?" She asked, voice brimmed with concern. Carmen sympathetically looked to her girlfriend, as Giorgia teared up. "I told them that I'm a lesbian, and that I'm in love with Carmen... Xander told them that he is bisexual. They told us to pack our shit and leave."
Lexa blinked in surprise before her face faltered. "I can't believe that..." She admitted, with a gasp. She couldn't imagine how heartbroken Gigi must be, after all Lexa's family had always been so accepting so she couldn't relate to how the witch felt.
"And where is Xander?" Lexa asked nervously. Whilst Alexia had been friends with benefits with a boy named Harry La Rue, Giorgia's brother was secretly dating Hugo La Rue, Harry's fraternal twin brother.
Neither Xander or Hugo were out of the closet, and Lexa had been surprised to one day stumble upon them making out under the bleachers. They made her promise not to tell anyone, but she'd assured them not to worry.
"Xander is staying with Hugo's family." Giorgia spoke. "But.. he is no longer at the school since our parents cut our funding." The Garcia added, as Lexa frowned.
Lexa truly couldn't understand how a family could disown their own, for loving the same sex. It really astounded her.
"So... we thought collectively that... Mystic Falls would be a nice place for a fresh start." Carmen said, placing her arm around Giorgia, who was still teary eyed.
"Bella and Bronwyn are currently doing exams, but Bella is thinking of moving back, as she's been homesick. Bronwyn wants to come visit too." The Anderson explained, though Lexa couldn't help but to notice her reluctance when mentioning Bronwyn and Bella in the same breath.
Noticing her expression, Giorgia explained, "Bronwyn and Isabella dated for a while." This was a plot twist to Lexa, as Isabella and Bronwyn couldn't be anymore different.
"Woah.... I definitely didn't see that coming." Alexia confessed, with an awkward laugh. "Eh... we kind of did. There was a lot of tension between them, but Bronwyn was in denial about being pansexual.." Giorgia added.
"Anyway, they ended pretty badly, and have been on awkward terms, especially because they share a dorm, but maybe in a different environment they could... I don't know, sort it out." The Garcia rambled, as Carmen and Lexa stared blankly at Giorgia.
"Babe... Bella and Bron are the two most stubborn people I know... I don't think they're going to work it out." Carmen confessed, as Lexa laughed.
Lexa's phone then beeped, catching her attention. Glancing down at her screen, she saw a message.
Carebear 💕: I'm heading to the woods now, see you soon ❤️
"Is that... Caroline?" Giorgia asked, with a smirk on her lips. Carmen couldn't help but to smile, also knowing about Lexa's crush on Caroline while they were in Belgium.
"Yeah.. we um kissed. We have a few times actually." Lexa confessed, throwing her hair up into a ponytail. Giorgia and Carmen shared amused glances before they teased the heretic.
"I really like her but... it's complicated right now." Lexa stated, pulling on her Doc Martens boots, before tying the laces.
"Well, we're hoping to go get some lunch, and find a hotel until we can rent somewhere—" Giorgia was cut off as Lexa deadpanned her. "Don't be ridiculous, you can stay here. We um... have a free bedroom." The Gilbert trailed off.
"Are you sure, babe?" Gigi asked, as Lexa nodded. "Without question, Gi." She insisted, before she grabbed her phone. "I'll see you lovebirds later. Enjoy lunch."

Lexa tugged on her ponytail, tightening it a little before she stepped into the woods. As the Gilbert found herself deeper into the woods, she found a certain blonde haired beauty standing amongst the wilderness.
"Hey." Caroline said, with a weak smile, as she faced the heretic. Lexa looked pale, she had tear stained cheeks and puffy red eyes. More than anything, she looked as though she needed a hug.
And that's what Caroline did. The Forbes rushed to Lexa, throwing her arms around the girl. Alexia's eyes glistened with tears, as she hugged Caroline back.
"I can't believe they're gone." She managed to choke out, thinking about those they lost to Klaus and Isaiah. Caroline teared up, as she held Lexa. She couldn't believe it either.
After consoling the heretic, Caroline and Lexa eventually broke apart. "So I thought I'd help you with your new vamp powers. I'm sure you've found you feel... very different to before."
Lexa nodded, "I feel constantly hungry." She began, "And no matter how many blood bags I get thrown at me, it's never enough."
"That is your bloodlust, which I'll help you to control." Caroline said, with a small smile. "Yeah, Care... are you forgetting that once upon a time I was so dependable on substances that I manipulated and stole to get my fix. Who's to say that won't happen again except this time, I'm a blood addict." The Gilbert suddenly blurted, full of panic.
"You're not going to go down that path again." Caroline assured her, as she took Lexa's hands in her own. "You have me, Stefan, Brooke and Damon. We're all here to help you adapt to being a vampire." The Forbes declared. Lexa smiled back weakly, hoping she was right.
"Now, what would you like to learn first? How to control your super-hearing or how to super-speed?" The blonde asked, "Then I can show you compulsion and a little something Damon taught me called, snatch eat erase."

After a few hours of Caroline training Lexa in Vampire 101, the Gilbert was zooming through the forest at great speeds.
"Look at you go!" Caroline said with a huge smile. Lexa stopped in front of the blonde with an equally bright smile. "I did it! I'm a master at super speed." The heretic laughed.
Caroline laughed in response, before she cupped Lexa's cheeks. Both girls felt as though they had butterflies in their stomach. Alexia looked into Caroline's blue eyes lovingly, causing the Forbes to smile brightly, before she leant closer to Lexa, and kissed her.
This time when their lips connected, Lexa could have sworn she felt sparks flow through her body. Her eyes closed, as she kissed back, but not before lifting her hand to cup Caroline's cheek.
Lexa and Caroline held eachother, and continued to kiss gently before the Gilbert pulled away, her eyes glistening with tears. Caroline's heart sank, as the heretic's expression said everything.
"I'm sorry, Care." Lexa managed to say, in almost a whisper. Caroline's eyes filled with tears now too, as she nodded. "No... no... I'm sorry. This is too much... too soon."
Lexa's breath hitched in her throat, as she wanted to kiss Caroline again, more than anything. To wipe away her tears and tell her the truth.... That she loved her.
Alexia Gilbert was in love with Caroline Forbes. They're in love, and they knew that they were meant for one another... but as usual timing wasn't on their side.
Lexa's world was falling apart. She lost her humanity. She lost her Aunt. She lost two of her closest friends. The heretic was depresssed and rage filled to the point of wanting to combust into flames. She wanted to kill Klaus for what happened to Jenna, and for Sienna and Natasha too.
Lexa and Caroline continued gazing sadly into eachother's eyes, before Lexa took Caroline's hand from her cheek and kissed the top of it gently. Then, using her super speed, she left.

AUTHORS NOTE
In the original story, Caroline and Lexa stated dating after Jenna's funeral but I hated it. As much as Carolexa is a slowburn, the timing still seemed awful as Lexa's world completely changed and the last thing she needed was a relationship. I think I put them together during that time because I got fed up with people complaining that it was 90 chapters in and they still weren't together.
I hope you guys are happy with the change, it definitely adds more angst to their relationship.
I'm also really excited to have Giorgia and Carmen in Mystic Falls! Bella and Bronwyn will come by soon too 💕
