Yo y'all. Pepperony has been together for almost 4 months.

Tony stood in front of a whirlwind of reporters, each holding some type of recording tech. He took a deep breath.

"You all know who I am, and you all know why we're here. Let's just... go with it. Yes I did personally know Spider-Man, and yes I did know his secret identity. He was like a son to me, and we have discovered who... who murdered him. Peter Parker was kidnapped off the streets in order to create a fake identity for his 'aunt', May Parker." Tony spat.

"Or an agent of the Red Room. Peter Parker's real name was Peter Jones. Son of, now deceased, Emilia Jones, and fathered by none other than yours truly." Tony continued, staring blankly at the gathered crowd, their devices glinting in the sunlight. "Any questions?"

Almost everyone's hands went up.

"You, in the front, white tie." Tony said emptily staring over the audience.

"Miles Jackson, NYNP. How was Mr Parker related to you again?" Miles said

"He was my son, from back in my playboy days. I didn't know about him, not until May Parker cracked under interrogation, and said she took him off the street. I got a DNA sample, and checked it. He was my son, and I didn't even know." Tony announced, frowning, trying to keep his 'I'm Tony F*cking Stark' face on.

He worked through the rest of the questions, mainly about where he would be buried, when and where was the funeral.

"He will be buried in the Stark Family Graveyard. It's what he would have loved. The funeral is private, but it's on Wednesday this week."

And finally, the torturing session was over.

Impassively making his way off the temporary stage, Tony collapsed into the waiting arms of his girlfriend, Pepper Potts.

A few minutes later, they let go, and walked off the stage, still planning for the funeral, only a couple of days away.

Those days passed really quickly. Tony was in the lab, for almost 17 hours straight, only stopping for coffee, hands finding comfort in the familiarity of the parts of machines.

Machines never died and left you without a son. Machines weren't killed by their assassin aunt.

Pepper spent her time on the office. Always either planning, on the phone or sleeping on the couch in her office.

Both had one thing on their minds. Peter Parker. Or Peter Jones. Or Peter Stark. Even though Pepper had only known him for 4 months, he had made an impression on her.

Tony had known him for a bit longer, ever since the Spiderling had got himself injured, and came to Tony for help. Peter had been barely 16, far to young to even drink, let alone go out risking his life every night!

Grunting in frustration, Tony threw the screwdriver he was using, at the wall. It bounced off, and Tony sunk down beside it. He needed people now, especially Pepper.

Tony wandered out of the lab, not having a real destination in mind. Then, he remembered he had an amazing AI that could tell him where Pepper was.

"FRIDAY? Where's Pep?" Tony croaked, his throat dry.

"Miss Potts is in the kitchen." FRIDAY informed him.

"Th.. thanks my girl." Tony mumbled.

He stumbled to the kitchen, expecting to see Pepper cooking or reading.

Instead, she was sitting at the table, dressed in a formal black pants suit, her eyes red from crying.

"Oh- hey Tony. I was about to ask FRI to get you up here. There's a change of clothes, the funeral starts in half an hour." Pepper hiccuped, standing up, taking charge of the sombre situation.

Tony nodded, and shuffled off to change. He emerged a few minutes later, wearing a black suit, a black shirt, and Spider-Man socks.

"I'm pretty sure I didn't put them out for you Tones." Pepper said, smiling at Tony's sense of humour, even in a dark time. The socks were a bright contrast to the black suit.

Together, Pepper and Tony walked into the lift, and down to the garage, where they got into the waiting car.

The ride to the funeral seemed to take an eternity, cameras flashing at them every second of the way.

They eventually arrived at the small chapel, where Ned, MJ, their families, and some of Peter's other friends sat.

Tony blanked out during the funeral, only getting up when Pepper judged him to say the empty words he wrote while messing around with the Spidey Suit.

Finishing his speech, Tony sat back down in the front row.

He watched uncomprehendingly, as his sons coffin was rolled down the aisle, and then watched as it was lowered into the ground.
