I'll admit it, I had no idea where I was going with the last chapter, so that's discontinued.  I'm slightly obsessed with Matilda the musical at the moment, the songs are just 👌👌

Morgan Stark waited nervously backstage as the piano chords for her favourite song started.

A boy walked onstage. "When I grow up" he sang. "I will be tall enough to reach the branches that I need to reach to climb the trees
You get to climb when you're grown up." Sitting down on the swing that was hanging from the stage roof, he started gently swinging.

Another boy joined him on the swings. "And when I grow up I will be smart enough to answer all the questions that you need to know the answers to before you're grown up."

Several more kids joined them. "And when I grow up, I will eat sweets every day on the way to work and I will go to bed late every night."

The rest of the cast, bar Morgan joined them onstage. "And I will wake up when the sun comes up, and I will watch cartoons until my eyes go square"

"And I won't care 'cos I'll be all grown up" Everyone sang as the beat picked up.

"When I grow up!"
"When I grow up!"
"When I grow up!"
The cast echoed, the sound echoing beautifully around the packed stadium. Morgan could see her Mum in the front row, as well as her brother Peter, and her uncle Happy.

"I will be strong enough to carry all the heavy things you have to haul around with you when you're a grown up."

"And when I grow up (when I grow up) (when I grow up)"

"I will be brave enough to fight the
creatures that you have to fight
Beneath the bed each night
To be a grown up."

The music really picked up now, as several people stood up on their swings, and flew well over the audience, still somehow managing to sing perfectly.

"And when I grow up (when I grow up)
I will have treats every day
And I'll play with things that mum
pretends that mum's don't think are fun.
And I will wake up when the sun comes up
And I will spend all day just lying in the sun
And I won't burn 'cos I'll be all grown up.
When I grow up."
Exiting the stage, the kids stopped singing.

The music slowed, as one of the older girls, who played Miss Honey, walked to a swing.
Taking a deep breath, Morgan followed her, from the other side of the stage, moving to sit on the front of the stage.

"And when I grow up
I will be brave enough to fight the creatures that you have to fight
Beneath the bed each night
To be a grown up." Miss Honey sang.

"Just because you find that life's not fair
It doesn't mean that you just have to grin and bear it
If you always take it on the chin and wear it
Nothing will change." Morgan sang, fiddling with one of the books in her hand.

"When I grow up" Miss Honey echoed.

"Just because I find myself in this story
It doesn't mean that everything is written for me. If I think the ending is fixed already
I might as well be saying I think that it's ok.
And that's not right!" Morgan finished with a bang, getting up and exiting the stage.

Thunderous applause shook the stage. She had done it.

Short and crappy, I know. But I'm tired, and might be getting a puppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love you all
