Chapt 78 - Arranging Marriage

QingHeng Jun smacked Wei ChangZe's back and grinned "Congratulations!" while Madam Lan said "Wei Ying... sounds nice"

Lan QiRen then stood up and huffed at CangSe SanRen. "How could you jump about in the garden just now! What if you hurt the baby?!"

CangSe SanRen replied "He's my baby, not yours. I know how to protect him!"

"Protect him by jumping about?!" Lan QiRen talked back.

FengMian sighed and patted QiRen's back "That's not all. I got the shock of my life when I saw her splashing about in the water with the other Yunmeng disciples"

Lan QiRen widened his eyes and turned to ChangZe "ChangZe, you can't let her continue acting like that!"

CangSe SanRen tugged ChangZe's arm and said "A-Ze, they are bullying me again! We should just let our child marry Lan Huan or Lan Zhan."

"You!" Lan QiRen said angrily and FengMian dragged him down to sit while laughing. QingHeng Jun laughed in agreement "Yes, just marry my child"

Lan QiRen slightly crossed his arms and look away "No! It'll be with my child. ChangZe, you promised me first."

ChangZe simply laughed while QingHeng Jun patted his brother's back "Alright alright, if you can even find a wife and have a child."

Lan QiRen fumed at his brother's tease. "Of course I can!" QingHeng Jun laughed and teased again "Don't take too long"

ChangZe laughed then said "Alright, if QiRen have a child, they'll get married. If not, it'll be with QingHeng Jun's child."

"Hey! My son isn't a backup plan" QingHeng Jun complained.

Jiang FengMian then grinned at QingHeng Jun while saying "ZiYuan might be expecting, we have to wait for the good news. Then we can arrange one with your son"

"Yea! And then we'll just join both sects together!" QingHeng Jun exclaimed. "ChangZe, if you're still waiting for QiRen, I'll just let FengMian's second child marry A-Huan first."

ChangZe smiled and said "No rush, let the kids grow up first. We'll just arrange it with QiRen first. We promised after all."

Lan QiRen shot a triumph look at his brother and said "That's right"

Wei Ying and Lan Zhan then watched as Lan QiRen and Wei ChangZe exchange the rings meant for them.

As they finished, knocks came from the door and a Lan Disciple had carried a baby while holding a boy's hand and walked in.

2-year old Lan XiChen stumbled his way and climbed onto his mother's lap. When the Lan Disciple carried baby Lan Zhan in, his mother held his hands out to carry him.

Wei Ying's eyes sparkled at the sight of baby Lan Zhan and was surprised when his mother said out his thoughts. "Baby Lan Zhan is already so cute and charming. Fitting for my child, let them marry."

Lan QiRen huffed at her while Lan Huan climbed over to his father's lap. Wei ChangZe then said "Lan Huan is handsome too" making Lan QiRen angrier, though he was proud of his nephew's good looks.

Madam Lan passed Lan Zhan over to CangSe SanRen and she smiled happily. "Look! He's smiling, such a good boy! I heard that babies cries all the time. Our kid will always be smiling like that too!"

ChangZe peered over and nodded his head in approval "Good kid". They played with Lan Zhan and Lan Zhan reached his hand out, as if he was patting CangSe SanRen's stomach.

CangSe SanRen raised her brows and laughed happily. "Look! He already likes my child! It's settled!"

Lan QiRen huffed angrily while passing Lan Huan to FengMian "No! It's not settled!"

FengMian watched Lan Huan stare at him with his cute innocent eyes and grinned while saying "QingHeng Jun, shall we arrange the marriage? I'm already liking Lan Huan. He's cute"

After watching them play with Lan Huan and Lan Zhan for a while, the screen abruptly turned off while they were zapped back to Wei Ying's room.

Wei Ying and Lan Zhan then noticed that once again, Jiang FengMian and Lan QiRen were standing at the door.

Lan QiRen stared at the two of then for a moment, then turned around and walked away. This was a memory he definitely missed. Though he didn't approve of his sister-in-law, he supported his brother's decisions and he missed hanging out as a group of 6.

Jiang FengMian also looked at them for a moment. He had also missed hanging out together. Everything stopped when the news of CangSe SanRen and Wei ChangZe's death came about. From then on, Jiang FengMian was busy looking for Wei Ying while handling the sect.

At that time the elders in Gusu Lan went stricter on Lan Zhan's mother, forcing them to not be able to meet as often too. Few years later and Madam Lan passed away too, leaving QingHeng Jun in depression.

Jiang FengMian walked out and followed Lan QiRen, wanting to catch up on the old times.

Wei Ying and Lan Zhan was still a little dazed from all that they've just seen. Recovering, Wei Ying couldn't help but let tears rolled down his eyes. He silently sobbed.

Lan Zhan pulled Wei Ying into his embrace and Wei Ying started bawling and wailing. "Mother... Father... I miss you" Wei Ying said in between his cries.

Lan Zhan shut his eyes and hugged Wei Ying tightly, trying to etch his parent's loving scene in his mind.

When the both of them calmed down, Wei Ying whimpered a little "Lan Zhan... I miss my parents... I miss them so much"

"Mn, me too" Lan Zhan whispered. They both stayed like this for some time and Lan Zhan rocked Wei Ying back and forth like a kid.

Wei Ying slowly fell asleep in Lan Zhan's arms while mumbling "Mother... Father..."

Lan Zhan then tucked Wei Ying in and kissed his forehead while hugging him tightly. He couldn't help but remember his parents holding hands, his mother's loving smile and his father's loving look towards his mother.

They went to sleep that night, wishing their parents were still alive or at least for a few more years.
