"Help me understand why it would be necessary to beat Narcos in a pulp." Zarkon huffed angrily at Elara in their bedroom.

"All I meant was for things to not spiral out of control and get worse. I was looking out for you." She said, quieter than usual, she had already gotten in bed.

"I don't need you looking out for me I'm a grown man and goodness sake please speak louder. Nobody will understand the mumbling." He scoffed.

"Sorry..." She sighed.

He didn't seem to notice how drastically emotionally unavailable she has been in the course of thirty minutes.

"How are you empress of Daibazaal when you can hardly speak to me loud enough?" He snarled.

"I-" she started.

"You what?" He asked.

"Forget it." She muttered and got comfortable in bed, facing away from him.

He faced away from her as they slept. She was so emotionally fragile that he only yelled at her once and it broke her.

It only worsened from that point on. He would be yelling out of stress from working so much sometimes and she seriously thought he would put his hands on her at some point because what she's been through. She was terrified of him.
