"Hey, hey," Y/n said as she walked into the DX, up to the counter, greeting Soda. "Steve in the garage?"

"Yup, how's it going, Y/n?"

"Goin' good." She smiled, hopping up on the counter. "How's it going for you?"

"It's going." Soda chuckled quietly. "Hey have you talked to Steve?"

"Nah, not since last night. Why?" Y/n furrowed her eyebrows as she looked at the young man at the register. "Is something wrong?"

"No, no, I was just curious." He shrugged shaking his head. Y/n was confused by his behavior but didn't have time to ask another question before Steve walked in, wiping his hands on a rag.

"Hey Doll," Steve's expression shifted to one of happiness as he laid eyes on her. She hopped off the counter, rushing over to him.

He wrapped his arms around her waist, and she wrapped hers around his neck. He kissed her cheek as he lifted her up before lowering her back onto the ground.

"I'm gonna get going, Soda. See ya around." Steve gave him a small wave before walking to the door.

"See ya. And good luck." Soda winked at Steve, in a playful manner before glancing at Y/n, shrugging. "What? He's hanging with you, anything could happen."

Y/n rolled her eyes, knowing that he was only joking. Yet still, she stuck her tongue out at him, before following Steve outside.

Steve wrapped his arm around Y/n's shoulders as they walked to his car, before he opened the door for her, closing it before going around.

"So...Soda said something before you came in, he was interested on whether we talked today...did he mean something about that?"

Steve thought for a moment before shrugging. "I don't know of anything for him concerned about."

Y/n became slightly unsettled, looking out the window before looking back at Steve. "Can I ask you something?"

"Duh, of course you can."

"Promise me you'll answer honestly..."

Steve pulled out of the DX, driving down the road as he glanced at the girl beside him. "I promise Doll, what's bothering you?"

"Are you cheating on me?"

Steve scoffed, looking at her. "Of course I'm not-"

"Really? Because I mean... normally Soda doesn't ask if we've talked, and you have been acting kind of off...I mean, it just seems odd-"

"I'm not cheating on you, Y/n."

"Steve...things have been stressed, I understand, you've been distant-"

"Oh my God, I am not cheating on you." He pulled the car over to the side of the road, putting it in park as he turned to face her. "I swear... it's something completely different."

"Then what is up? Something is up and you're not telling me, I just want to know-" Y/n looked at him, her eyes going wide. "Oh my God, are you breaking up with me?"

She continued to ramble, getting on Steve's nerve as he tried to talk, and explain. "Shut up and listen, would ya?"

She stopped talking, looking slightly offended but she said nothing.

"I ain't cheating on you, I ain't breaking up with you, okay? I was gonna propose-"

"What?"

"I was gonna propose, that's why Soda was wondering, he knew I planned on doing it yesterday, but I didn't find the right time."

"You were going to propose?"

Steve leaned back in his seat, looking straight ahead. "Y/n, I love you. Alright? I love you more than anything else in my life, and I want to spend the rest of my days with you..."

Y/n sighed quietly, as he looked back at her. "Y/n, you deserve the world, you deserve everything...and I can't give you that, but I can give you all I have, and I'd never cheat on you...so, please do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

She smiled softly, before leaning over to him. She kissed him softly. "I'm so sorry for doubting you...I know you wouldn't, I just... I over thought it...it would be my honor to become Mrs. Steve Randle."

He smiled slightly, intertwining his hand in hers. "You really thought I'd break up with you?"

Y/n laughed quietly, shrugging. "Like I said, I over thought it."
