I walked in and Mum and my aunt Michelle were sitting at the table each with a glass of red wine in their hands. my mum called me over and I went an sat on her lap. Her and Michelle carried on talking, it must have been about 30 minutes when Steve came in and said "Sorry to interrupt guys, but that was Liam on the phone. there's been and accident, it's Paul." I looked up at Mum who was holding her glass of wine. "What kind of accident?" Michelle asked. mum made a joke about something but I didn't understand it. Michelle gave her a look, Dad used to call it the death stare. then she looked down at me and picked me up and we went out to the car with Steve, Mum and Michelle.
We got in the car and Steve drove in silence. Mum kept making remarks and talking. While Michelle told her to shut up all the time. I rested my head on Michelle's shoulder as I sat in the middle of them, she stroked my hair as I watched out of the window.
