"So I am going to meet you at Shawn's concert backstage right after I am finished with the award show," I told Anna as Rose teased my hair.
Today is going to be a hectic day. Not only do I have the Teen Choice Awards I have Shawn's concert directly after that. I am even leaving the award show early to get to the concert. I am even forced to change on the way to Shawn's concert.
Not even an hour ago I was at sound check for tonight. Anna was the only one there while everyone else stayed back at the hotel to get ready. Since we live about forty-five minutes away from the show we all just got hotel rooms not far away.
It's just been so hectic. I got word from my management that I can't perform my new song with Nick, so instead I have to play my last single from my last album. Which is Love Me Harder. I may not have The Weeknd with me, but Nick said he would sing his part.
I am pretty pumped about this performance even though I wanted to perform my new song. So my whole morning has consisted of me trying to argue my way with management to give my supporters a new song, but I lost that battle.
I just need to know what is going on with Shawn. He left a while ago, and I haven't heard from him since then.
"Rose do you mind if I call Shawn?" I asked pulling my phone out. Yes she is the same stylist from the photo shoot. I decided to start using her since I loved her work.
"Not at all honey. A girls got to do what a girls got to do," she smiled as she add some hair spray.
I pulled out my phone, and dialed Shawn's new number since he changed it again. I put it on speaker as I used my other hand to eat carrots. I wanted something crunchy, but not messy.
The phone kept ringing until I heard background voices. "Hello," Shawn said through the phone.
"Hey babe I was just wondering what the plan is. Are you still at sound check?" I asked looking at my freshly manicured nails. The black matte color matched my boots for tonight.
"I'm going to get ready over here. Sound check is getting a little backed up. We had some problems with the speakers, so the tech is working on them now."
"Okay I'll come get you when I'm done getting ready."
Everybody else is taking different vehicles separately. Not everyone is going to Shawn's concert, so don't ask me why they aren't.
"Look down at your feet," Rose instructed.
My feet were up on the chair, and my knee was holding my chin up. I removed my chin from my knee, and look down letting Rose tease my hair more.
She is doing my hair into loose curls, and a braided crown.
I could feel her yanking on my hair as she braided the specific chunks of hair. The music played softly in the background as Matt, Kaylee, and I were getting ready.
As for Jamie, she was going around the room making sure everything was here and we are on schedule. She is even taking picture of us getting ready, and posting them for us.
"Jamie when is my next meeting?" I asked.
"Um I don't think we have set a date for the next one. You did have one when you got sick; we never rescheduled it." She typed away on her phone thinking. "You are very busy the next few weeks, but I can probably squeeze it in. I'll just need to sit down, and organize everything out."
"Thank you," I smiled.
I am really excited for tonight. Since I have been doing movies and music I am nominated for so much. Plus I get to perform tonight! I may be nervous, but I love performing, and it has been a while since I have performed.
My hair turned out amazing like I knew it would. Rose honestly doesn't get enough recognition.
"Alright get ready for your amazing makeup to be finished."
She sprayed my face, and started adding my foundation onto me. I knew this was going to be more makeup than I am used to. Usually my makeup is when it comes to red carpets.
"Kaylee how is it going over there?" I asked closing my right eye letting Rose add primer on my eye lid.
"I haven't felt this pampered in years," she laughed.
Rose kept small talk with me while she put my new face on. Which included my eye makeup just being a simple wing, a small layer of neutral eye shadow, and false eyelashes that were inserted one at a time.
"Honestly Rose you make my eyebrows happy. They look so amazing," I complimented her while wiggling my eyebrows.
"I guess you could say they are on flick?" She asked.
I laughed at her trying to use slang. "Yes on fleek."
I picked out my own lipstick for tonight which I decided to go bold. It's a deep purple called smoked purple which is such a cute shade of purple.
"Great choice of lipstick. A couple months ago I used this color on Lorde. She told me it is one of her favorite lipsticks."
At least I have good taste like Lorde. Purple is definitely her color too. Anna actually helped me pick it out a while ago at the mall, and boy oh boy was I in love with the color.
I got up from the chair once Rose announced I was finished with my makeup. So far I am a little over half way done. All of our outfits were hanging up on the cart. Each one in its own individual bag.
I had fun picking out my dress for this years Teen Choice Awards. It is always easy since the outfits are more simple than anything.
I grabbed my silk blue dress, and carried it with me to the bathroom. My clothes laid on the floor as I slipped on the soft silky fabric. The dress went mid thigh, and had straps the crossed in the back.
"I really like this dress," I said to Jamie as I walked out.
"It does look good on you," she told me as she looked me up and down.
"You're barefoot put some shoes," Matt said with his hands on his hips acting like I broke a law. "Teenagers these days."
I giggled, and went over to my shoes. For today's shoes I chose to wear black heeled boots that go a little pass my knees. They look amazing with this dress.
"Alright jewelry time!" Rose cheered bringing me over to the makeup table again. She handed me a box, and inside were the diamond earrings my parents gave me for my eighteenth birthday.
While I put my earrings in Rose put on my silver choker that has three diamonds dangling on it.
"TCA ready!" I clapped admiring my outfit in the mirror.
"Okay let's get you going after I take a couple photos," Jamie said using my phone to capture the pictures.
I posed against the white wall wall camera ready. Instagram needs some good photos. Jamie snapped a few, and showed me the options that I could post. I decided on the one where I was looking away from the camera with a small smile.
"Matt I'm leaving!" I shouted.
He came over to the door while buttoning his shirt. "I don't know if I'll even see you at the awards. We don't sit next to each other, but I will see you at the concert," Matt told me.
"Alright just text me throughout it," I laughed. "Good luck!"
"You too Rae!"
Jamie and I both walked down the hallway singing along to the song playing throughout the hallway softly.
Now I just have to pick up my boyfriend.
Both of us got into the elevator, and tried not to be awkward to everyone standing in the small moving cube.
One last wouldn't stop looking at me like my hair was on fire. I didn't look back at her since that would be weird so I awkwardly whistled while looking around. Jamie on the other hand was typing away at her phone.
Finally the elevator dinged, and I didn't waste a second getting out of there. I flew across the lobby straight for the side door that leads to my ride. A casual black Suburban. The same vehicle I use all the time.
"Addy just texted me saying you look beautiful tonight, and she knows you are going to win lots of awards," Jamie smiled at her phone.
"Can I see your phone?" I asked having an idea. She nodded her head, and handed me her phone.
I slid up on her camera, and stated video taping.
"Thank you Addy! I bet you look twice as beautiful. I hope sometime we can hang out? Well lots of love!" I blew a kiss, and ended the video.
"You send that to her, and one day I am taking the girls out of your hair."
"Thank you. Out of all my clients I have had the last twenty years you are the best one."
The Greek Theatre already had a line outside the door of so many people waiting for Shawn's concert tonight.
To. Shawn: We are pulling up to the back door. Hurryyyyyy
I slid to the middle seat leaving room for Shawn next to me.
I bet he is going to wear black skinny jeans. Which I don't mind because he looks totally hot in them.
He walked out the door smiling, so I leaned over to open the door. I was right he was wearing black skinny jeans, a off grey v-neck, and the boots I got him. Super casual, but super good looking.
He slid in, and closed the door.
"You look hot," I smiled as he gave me a kiss.
"And you look beautiful."
Shawn and Jamie greeted each other, and we quietly kept small talk on our way to the show.
"On our way to the Teen Choice Awards!" I said to snapchat as I show Jamie, Shawn, and I. I posted it to my story, and handed my phone to Shawn. He is holding my phone for me while we are on the red carpet. Since I don't have pockets and he does.
"I'll see you in the dressing room later," Jamie smiled as we came to a stop.
Many people were screaming towards the celebrities on the 'blue' carpet. Lucy Hale is kind of a big deal. So many cameras were pointed at the carpet.
"Go time darling," Shawn smirked as he opened the door. He stepped out, and offered me his hand which I gladly accepted.
Many people shouted different things as us, and lots of fans screamed from the side towards us.
Of course the carpet patrol were making sure people were going on the carpet at the right time. Shawn and I were standing side by side behind Keke Palmer who was talking to Bella Throne.
"Don't trip," I smirked to Shawn.
"Says the one wearing heels." I gave him a playful glare.
The man directing traffic let us go. Side by side we walk forward together. HIs arm wrapped around my waist bringing me into his side. I had one arm around him, and the other hand rested on his chest.
The people holding cameras shouted at us to pose certain ways, but we mostly did what we wanted.
I smiled up at him. He noticed, and looked down at me smiling.
"Can we get some solos?" One shouted.
Shawn and I released from each other, and posed separate. I kept one hand on my hip as I angled my body, and looked over my shoulder slightly.
"This way," the traffic guy said at the end pointing towards the exit of the carpet.
I met Shawn who held out his hand for me to grab at the end, and we both started walking towards the interviewers.
"Honestly red carpets always get my heart racing. Everybody just stares at you, and takes picture!" I breathed.
"You get my heart racing," he winked.
I laughed at his cheesiness, and gave his hand a squeeze. We both approached a man holding a microphone eager to interview anyone.
"Madisyn and Shawn! The power couple of the carpet. My name is Jake, and do you mind if I interview you guys?" He asked as he made sure the camera was pointed at us.
"No, not at all," I smiled.
"Alright first off how are things going on between you guys. Both of you look super happy." He pointed the microphone towards us.
I smiled up at Shawn. "Things are honestly going super well. I have been visiting him while he is touring, and it is just amazing seeing him perform to these crowds."
"I can't agree anymore," Shawn laughed while he nodded.
"Let's talk music. Madisyn you are releasing your first single of your new album tonight after you perform it, so we can expect some new music. Can you tell us anything about it?"
I am really excited about this album. It is something that I have little pieces put together for some new music, but I don't have full songs. I have a little till the album needs to be complete, but I do need to step up my game. This album is going to be way better than my last.
"Actually tonight a little bit of problems came up last minute, so I am performing Love Me Harder tonight. But I think my new music is a big step in my music career. It is going to represent a more mature side of me. The music is going to be more mature, and show that I am growing as a musician."
Jake nodded his head, and Shawn chimed in. "She wouldn't even give me a sneak peak of her new song. Not even the title." All three of us laughed, and settled down once Jake went to ask Shawn a question.
"And how about you Shawn? What do you have in store for the Mendes Army musically?"
"I am writing new music, and that is all I can say as of now."
"Well it was nice talking to you guys. Good luck tonight both of you," Jake said shaking both of our hands.
"Thank you!" Shawn and I yelled in unison as we walked away.
We both decided on splitting up to do a couple more interviews before entering the huge arena.
I went straight to a younger looking interviewer holding a blue microphone talking to her cameraman.
"Oh hi Madisyn! Do you mind if I ask you some questions? Oh my name is Andy by the way." I could tell right away she is newer with this whole interviewing thing. She seemed so nervous, but then again when I meet stars I get just as nervous. Like when I met Taylor Swift.
"Of course Andy! Ask away."
"Okay well you are nominated for a lot of awards tonight how excited are you about that?"
"It is amazing! I am up against some pretty amazing people." There are some amazing people I am nominated against, and to be able to say that I am even in the same category as them amazes me.
"Paper towns. What do you have to say that about it."
Thinking back at the memories I made while filming makes me smile. It was my first major role in a movie that is based off of a best selling book; which I would say it a pretty good role for my first time.
"I had such a fun experience, and not only that the movie turned out great. The cast and crew I worked with were so nice and friendly. Especially Natt, he was a blast. We would always pull pranks on each other during filming. And the movie is up for a lot of awards," I said turning to look at the camera.
"Well it was great talking to you. I'll let you get inside, and good luck on tonight."
I thanked her, and started walking towards Shawn who was waiting for me by the door. He had a big smile on his face. Once I got close enough to him he wrapped his arm around my waist again.
"Interviews are always interesting," he laugh.
