How did you discover Wattpad?

I honestly can’t remember how I discovered Wattpad, I think I might’ve just googled websites to publish novels or something like that. I was just looking for somewhere to share my writing.

How long have you had Wattpad, and how often do you use it?

I made a Wattpad account about a year or so ago, but deleted it. The account I use now I made probably two months ago, I’m on it everyday, to check if I got anymore reads on my story.

Is there a meaning behind your username?

My username is just my firstname and last initial, there’s no meaning behind it.

Why did you start writing? What age did you discover your love for it?

Right now I’m fourteen and a freshman in highschool, I discovered that I liked writing only a year ago when my eighth grade language arts teacher gave us an assignment to write a short story. She had these creative writing flipcharts and it helped me come up with an idea for a story. After that it was just idea after idea after idea, like a ball that never stops rolling. I haven’t written much of that story because I find it hard to write and I feel like whatever I write isn’t good enough, so for now it’s just in my head. Hopefully when I learn what I need to, I’ll be able to put those thoughts into words, but not right now. Baby steps as people say.
Who are you favourite authors? What are your favourite books? (Books on Wattpad count too!) What is your favourite genre?

My favorite book genre is young adult fiction. Cassandra Clare’s shadow hunter novels are my favorite things in the entire world, The Mortal Instruments and The Dark Artifices. I also really love Maggie Stiefvater, The Shiver trilogy and The Raven Cycle trilogy. I read a lot of books but these are definitely my favorite.

Do you want a career in writing?

After highschool I plan on going to college majoring in creative writing, then I want to move to New York and publish multiple novels. I think about it all the time and I know who I want to be in life, which is something most fourteen year olds don’t really say.

Who supports you the most in your writing?

My friend Natalie, she’s actually kind of my best friend, we’re like soulmates. She’s loves reading what I write and is the only person who I personally go to with my stories.

Choose one of your books: Impassable.

What is your book called? What genre is it? What is it about (2/3 lines)?

In short, I would say that this book is about life and death, and opening your eyes to the world in front of you.

What inspired you to write it?

I was in my mom’s car and we drove past a city hall building that my mom worked on (she used to be an architect), then I thought about Parks and Rec and the town of Pawnee, Indiana, then about what the building would look like with spider webs and exposed brick, abandoned basically. From then it went to ‘Where would a building like this fit in?’ ‘A ghost town’. I started thinking about a ghost town and about the people who would live in it, and it just kept going and going. That’s how my brain works, it starts then never stops.

How often do you update? When was it last updated?

I’m constantly writing but it takes me a while to update, usually a week or maybe two, because the chapters I write are so lengthy. I believe my last update was on February 7th, 2015

How long are your chapters? Do you think short or long chapters are better?

The average page of a book has 250-300 words. The chapters I write have been from about 5000 to 9000 words, so in a published book my chapters would be, let’s say, 20-35 pages. I’m okay with having chapters that length. On wattpad that may seem like a lot, with many writing 1000 words in one chapter, but it honestly just depends on the author. I don’t believe that there’s anything wrong with short chapters, as well as long chapters. A chapter is just a division, where you choose to but that division is your business. (And to be honest, you get a lot out if my chapters than you might someone elses).

Are you proud of how well your book has done? Are you happy with the amount of reads it has?

I am proud of my book, but I do hope that one day it gets more recognition. It just takes time really.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
I myself am a new author, but the advice that I'd give myself would be to never give up writing if you're glad with what you're making and it's what you want to do, and don't discourage yourself. Rome wasn't built in a day.

The introduction of this author's book is absolutely amazing. There is a very high quality of work which continues throughout the book. I love the way it's written and the plot is great so far. I cannot say anything bad about it and so you sould check it out. I really recommend it!!
