The school's slowly made their comeback. But that's only on the outside and building interior. What takes the longest to come back in the mental stability and foundation.

One brat of a student finds that out the hard way.

Two school months ticked by like a fever dream. Everything seemingly went back to normal. All the teachers continued on with their lessons, all the students continued to get tested and everything was once again going back to the state.

So why Scar still felt like everything was going to go to absolute shit at any second was concerning and unsettling to everyone who noticed.

Sure, the school had had their security double checked over and over again. Sure, all the teachers had been taking defence lessons from professionals for the past two months. Sure, all the teachers were now given their own handguns. Much to the protest and annoyance of the few who abided against firearms entirely.

Yes! Sure! Everything was going to be fine.

Scar was simply going about his daily Geometry lesson with his 3rd period class. The class was the furthest ahead but some of them still didn't understand some of the equations that he was throwing them. So over the last few nights, Scar eventually said 'fuck it' and opted to brute force each vocab term into his students skulls.

But Scar probably should have made a plan B, because his current class was as unresponsive as an unfed goldfish.

"Anyone? Anyone at all?" Scar questioned, staring around at his class.

No students raised their hands or even made eye contact with him. Funny how they think that tactic works anymore.

No matter how much Scar protested against calling out a student, he still needed the answer to his question.

"Philip. Care to give a guess?"

Philip was sitting near the back of the room. He had his hood up and most likely had earbuds in. He gave Scar a shit eating grin. "Sorry? What was that?"

Scar gave a frown as some snickers went into the air. "Put your hood down, Philip. Can you answer this question on the board?"

Philip gave a shrug but he did pull his hood down. "Nope. Can't answer it."

Some of the other students that were near the back of the class snickered more. Some of them girls, some of them boys.

"Maybe it's because he sucks ass about teaching this!" Another student blurted out.

This caused the entire room to start snickering or laughing.

Scar internally cringed but snapped his head towards the student who spoke out. Eyes landed back on a female student with fiery red hair with black highlights. Miss Trisha Berklee. She wasn't the controllable goofball like Philip, she was the aggressive, loud mouthed back talker type who had a temper and an additude that only Keralis, Ren, Cleo or Xisuma could calm.

Scar frowned at her. "Miss Berklee. Do you wish to have yourself a visit to Principle Void?"

The class fell silent as the argument gained momentum.

Trisha gave a loud, obnoxious laugh. "Whatever, Void can't do shit to me."

Scar sighed, already feeling a headache coming to him. "Get out of my classroom Miss Berklee. "

Trisha rolled her eyes before dramatically rising from her seat and glaring hard at her teacher. "No! You can't tell me what to do!"

Scar ignored Trisha's cold glare, simply deadpanning. "As a matter of fact I can. Now get out or I'll have xB come drag you out."

In a flash, something was now in Trisha's hand. Something that didn't register right. An item, to be specific. Did she have it in her pocket?

The words shouted by Trisha next were completely drowned out.

Flashback
Scar was in the lunchroom when he saw a handful of men enter the building. He watched them all get allowed in and stalk to the front desk where Cleo and xB were.

Scar then stared in horror as the front man pulled a gun on xB.

The next thing Scar knew was that the doors to the lunchroom and the main halls and office were all shut. The lights blared before going out completely.

"Everyone get up, stay down and head toward our meeting spot!" Scar commanded, gesturing as students rose from their seats in a hurry and spirited away from the office.

Suddenly the air erupted with gunfire and Scar found himself following the last of the lunch room students toward the evacuation buses.

All Scar could do was to make sure these groups of students were safe and pray that the others were ok.

End Flashback
"Scar! Scar!"

Scar blinked multiple times. Clutched within his hand was the gun that was handed out to all staff that didn't have one.

He was standing in front of his desk now and one of the drawers was now open.

Standing in front of him was Ren while all his students were backed away as much as they could be.

Ren was looking at Scar with worry. He had one hand up and another out towards his currently crazed peer. "Scar... put the gun down please."

Scar took a deep breath, starting to feel himself shake.

"Oh gods..." Scar muttered out.

Ren neared his friend before finally managing to place one hand on the gun and aim it downwards to the floor. He then went and wrapped his other arm around Scar's neck and pulled him close.

Scar almost immediately surrendered the gun to Ren then wrapped his arms around his peer like he were a life line. After that, Scar felt as if he could no longer hold back tears properly.

Ren gently let the gun drop to the floor, embracing Scar further in a hug. He rubbed small circles in the other's back as Scar just sobbed.

Ren's eyes then scanned the sea of frightened students.

"One of you go get Xisuma."

Doc watched from afar as Xisuma spoke with Wels, TFC, Biffa and iJevin in a semi privatized human circle. They were waiting for Stress, False and Cleo to get back with whatever the girl had in her pockets.

He was currently sitting on the floor of the teachers lounge with his back against the couch and towards Joe, Scar and Cub. The three had been sitting there for awhile, just making sure that Scar was going to be ok. They had been talking, but it had gone quiet.

Mostly because Scar had fallen asleep.

"What do you think their talking about?" Doc finally asked.

Cub, who had been gently massaging one of Scar's hands, looked up over to the circle. "Probably about that trouble maker." He gruffed.

"Wouldn't surprise me." Joe added, not even looking up. "They might be talking about expelling the student entirely."

Doc frowned, turning his head down to the floor before smirking. "I shouldn't say this but- good fucking riddance. That kid was a brat that made me wanna punt a kid to the sun."

Cub gave a huff. "I'll drink to that riddance."

Joe simply shook his head.
