I finally finished the cover! :D Simple love story, boy meets boy, boy falls in love with boy. Except for the part where they're both closeted gays with homophobic parents. Ren's lived with his super Christian mother since his dad came out as pansexual. This happened when he was 7 and his parents divorced. He's lived a pretty carefree and average life, except for the closeted gay with a super homophobic mother part. He never gets in much trouble, has average grades, never moved homes, stayed at the same school, and had a decent sized group of friends. That was until he changed schools and met a boy who would change his life forever. Doc's life has always been a bit complicated. He has three younger siblings who he would do anything for and he's usually the one to take care of all of them since his mother and father spend most of their time at work or thinking about work. They're also mildly homophobic, so Doc never told them he's gay. His parents always pressured him to get good grades so in response he always gets in trouble at school and often picks on people, all of this while maintaining As in every course. His whole world shifts when he meets the new kid at his school.

Ex-hero Hotguy, better known these days under his civilian name of Scar, has still been doing his best to engage with his fans since the incident with his nemesis that pushed him into his early retirement. He attends conventions, chats with people on social media, has even written a couple books, but generally, he sees his hero days as behind him. Until he's approached by an eager young man named Grian, who dreams of being the hero Poultry Man and wants Scar to train him. Hesitant, Scar gives him some pointers, and when he sees potential in Grian's powers, he agrees to mentor him. He just hopes the impulsive lad won't get himself into too much trouble before he's ready. A Hermitcraft AU where everyone is human (or human-ish anyway, some people have animal-like features), taking place in the modern world except most people have some form of power, though most powers are fairly mundane. Those who are particularly gifted, however, have taken on lives as heroes and villains. This has a teen rating but will have a minor amount of shipping, such as later Mumbo/Scar, and there's also background relationships such as Rendoc and perhaps others. Additional tags: major character injury, permanent injury, enemies to lovers (eventually), hero Scar, villain Mumbo, hero training, and occasional suggestive themes. Grian was a young admin in a war he never wanted to fight, but will he be able to stand with his friends or will he give in to the darkness? I started writing this without planning anything so a lot is going to be rewritten. (AKA the only two chapters posted.) It may take me a week or two to plan out the plot and start writing so I may not upload for a little while.
