The light glows through the window the thin transparent material not keeping out the suns rays. Over the silhouettes of the trees the sky is magenta and orange lined with white clouds. As the sun rises further my room lights up. Soon every dark little corner has light. Eventually at 6:45 I drag my exhausted body out of bed for another day of assault from life. With a harsh pull if my arms my curtains separate, gliding across their rails to either side of the window so that the tress aren't just dark blobs but beautiful masses of green with budding blossoms. My swimsuit from the other day hangs limply from the line. A rush of adrenaline runs through me and I look out at the yard. My legs ache and scream for me to go and lay back down but I just stand there. Birds fly from tree to tree flittering about and the neighbours cat Mr. Socks wonders past my window. Eventually I pull myself away from the window and I wonder down the dark hallway into the dark house.
