I loved him because I did.
I loved her because she needed me to.
When the world tried to make us quit.
We stayed together and that was it.
Calling her at 3am to go down to the skatepark.
Cutting through ice like water to a shark.
"Just meet me there okay?"
A pause
"The one by the railway."
She was going down there and she knew that for sure.
Beneath the ramps pointing out constellations where they lay.
For this gentle insanity; no cure.
Putting down his phone so he could talk.
After what he said the quieter we spoke.
We went for a short walk.
He was having a smoke.
It's cliché and boring
But it's all I'll want.
To walk away with a smile on my face.
put there by that dork.
