Niall and I have our first ultrasound today. I'm excited to see our baby and I'm sure Niall is too.
I was downstairs in the kitchen making breakfast for the two of us when I felt someone hug me from behind. I turned to see my husband smiling at me. He was all ready for the ultrasound.
"Hey babe, you smell good" I said as hugged him.
"Thanks babe, so do you, and breakfast smells amazing. Did I ever mention how good your cooking skills are" he said as he kissed me.
"Awe Niall thank you" I said as I kissed my loving husband back. "You excited to see our baby?"
"Of course, there's no way I'd miss any ultrasounds throughout your pregnancy. You and our baby mean so much to me."
I couldn't help but smile at my husband's words. He always knew how to make me smile.
"Thanks Ni, I'm excited too. Honestly I don't think I could go through this process with someone else" I said as I hugged him.
"Thanks babe, I couldn't do this with anyone else either."
We both ate breakfast and left for the appointment about 10 minutes later. We arrived at the hospital and walked in holding hands. We went to the front desk to check in.
"Hello, what's the name" the clerk asked.
"Y/N Horan"
"Okay, it seems as if you have an ultrasound this morning, will there be anyone joining you during this" the clerk asked.
"Yeah, my husband is here with me" I said as Niall put his arm around me.
"Alright, just have a seat and we'll call you back in a few minutes"
"Thank you"
Niall and I sat down and enjoyed each other's company until we were called back a few minutes later.
The nurse led us to the ultrasound room where we were told to wait a few more minutes for the doctor to arrive.
"This is it babe, we get to see our little one for the first time" I said as Niall wrapped his arms around me.
"You ready for this" Niall asked me.
"As long as I have you on my side, I'm ready as I'll ever be"
"I am as well babe" Niall said as he kissed me.
A few minutes later, the doctor walked in to see the two of us being lovey dovey and couldn't help but smile at the two of us.
"Good morning Y/N, ready to see your baby today" the doctor asked me.
"Yes, I've been waiting for this moment for a long time"
"Alright and I'm assuming this is your husband with you today"
"Yes mam, I'm Niall nice to meet you" he said shaking hands with the doctor.
"My pleasure Niall, shall we get started"
"Yes please" Niall and I said at the same time.
"Alright we'll start off by listening to your baby's heartbeat" she said getting the doppler ready.
I lifted my shirt up and I felt Niall hold my hand and start rubbing it gently. The doppler was placed on my stomach and it didn't take long to find our baby's heartbeat. Hearing it for the first time was absolutely amazing. I looked over at Niall who was smiling as he leaned towards me to kiss me.
"Baby's heartbeat sounds perfectly normal, now we'll do your first ultrasound" the doctor said getting the ultrasound machine ready. I felt Niall kiss my temple. I could tell he was ready for this moment as much as I am.
"Okay Y/N this might feel a little cold" the doctor told me as she squirted the gel onto my stomach. I flinched a little bit cos the gel was a little colder than I thought it was gonna be. The doctor ran the scanner over my stomach until we saw an image pop up on the screen.

"OMG our little miracle Niall" I said in awe as I felt Niall stroking the top of my head. I turned to look at him and saw a smile that I had never seen him make before. I could tell he was beyond happy.
"Y/N and Niall, by the looks of this your baby is perfectly healthy" the doctor told us with a smile. Niall leaned in to kiss me.
"By the looks of it Y/N, you're about 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant so your due date will be November 12" the doctor said as she cleaned the gel off my stomach. I put my shirt down and Niall helped me sit up as I got down from the table.
"Here's a couple copies of the ultrasound photos" she said handing them to me and Niall.
"Thank you" I told the doctor as she shook hands with both me and Niall.
"You're welcome and congrats to both of you. I'll see you soon."
"Bye"
On our way home, Niall told me to close my eyes. When he said I could open them, I saw that we were now at home and he had gotten me my favorite fast food and my favorite ice cream.
"This is for keeping our baby healthy, you're doing an amazing job Y/N and I love you so much" he said pulling me in for a hug.
"Thank you so much Niall, you're the best husband ever" I said and he pulled me in for a kiss. We went into the living room with the fast food, sat down on the couch, turned on our favorite movie, and ate together. Niall had his arm wrapped around my waist as he was rubbing the side of my stomach. Our baby might not be here yet, but we already love him/her so much.
