Chapter 6: Nightmares and presents.

The excitement of Madeline being here made me so I couldn't sleep, I would make sure that she was safe with me. I lied in bed trying to fall asleep when I heard muffled crying. I shot up, it was coming from Madeline's room. I knocked on the door. 

"Madeline? Are you ok? Can I come in please?"

Madeline's POV

I wake up in tears again, my nightmares come and haunt me, making me think the traders are here and hurting me. There was a knock on the door.

"Madeline? Are you ok? Can I come in please?" It was Ryuga,

"C-come in," I replied, and quickly wiped my tears. He came in and sat beside me

"What's wrong why are you crying?" He asked me worried,

"I-I just had a nightmare..." I mumbled

"What was it about?" 

"About the traders coming and hurting me, it seems so real! I-I it hurts my back, even though it's just a dream it just h-hurts." I told him. "It-it's been going on ever since I've s-stayed at Madoka's, I am so afraid that the t-traders will come and take me back."  I was doing my best not to cry but a single tear escaped my eyes and I couldn't help it, but started to cry,

"Madeline, dont worry, I won't let them take you, I promise."

"...Ryuga? D-did I wake you?"

"No, you didn't."

"Are-are you sure?"

"Yes." He kissed the top of my head.

"Im sorry Ryuga..."

"For what?"

"The first day here I'm already being a burden..."

"no Madeline, you are not a burden."

"I feel like I am throwing myself on you, annoying you because of my nightmares. I feel like a burden that is a useless piece of crap." 

"Madeline," He made me look him in the eye, "You are not a burden, and you are not a useless piece of crap! I don't want to hear you call yourself that again, do you understand? And trust me you will know if I am annoyed. I don't mind this at all, you are having nightmares about people who want to hurt you maybe even kill you, I am here for you, I promised I would protect you and if that means holding you in my arms in the middle of the night, calming you down because you are afraid, then I will do that! Madeline, I care about you, I have for as long as I have known you, and I am not going to let you be terrified or alone and do nothing about it while you are going through this. I don't have any friends here, just allies and people who want to use my new power for their own intentions, but now I have you, and I won't lose you." He stroked my hair, I wanted to stay in his arms forever, 

"T-thank you,"

"Shhh, go to sleep, my dear." I cuddled up to his bare chest and he held me close, eventually, I drifted off to sleep.

I awoked wrapped up in Ryuga's arms, he had held me the entire night. Ryuga was still asleep, I looked at his sleeping face, he was adorable, he looked so innocent... He woke up a little later and caught me looking at him.

"Madeline... were you watching me sleep?" He whispered, his eyes still closed.

"um... maybe?" He chuckled, i apologized and started to get up, but he held me to his chest. I tried again, 

"No..." He growled in a deep voice.

"A-are you mad at me?" I asked quietly. 

"No, he smirked and opened his golden eyes. "Your warm." I giggled, relieved he wasn't mad. "Are you excited for today?"

"Mmmhm!" 

"Good, come on, lets get going. We have breakfast." I nodded, Ryuga got up and walked out of the room. 

I dressed myself in a red long sleeved shirt and a black skirt. I looked in a little drawer that had a note on it, 

"That's strange I didn't see that yesterday..." The note told me there was something inside for me. I opened the drawer and a headpiece that looked exactly like Ryuga's was in there, 'Madeline, I hope you like this welcoming gift, I wanting to give it to you a long time ago before I was taken, but I never got the chance. I hope you like it. -Ryuga' "...Aww this is so sweet, it's so cute!" I exclaimed putting the headpiece on my forehead.
