 Taylor Lautner as Taylor ----------------------------------------------------------------------------->

***Terra's P.O.V.***

I had been admiring a very pretty painting on the living room wall when I heard shouting. Turning away from the swirling colors, I peek around the doorway and up the stairs where McKenna and Morgan are yelling at each other from behind a closed door.

"Nosy much?" I jump at the sound of Adrian's voice over my shoulder. I turn quickly and give him a half-hearted glare.

"No, it's not being nosy if they're as loud as they are." He shrugs before turning his attention back up the stairs where the voices are much louder now. "How did you even... weren't you..." I trail off hoping he'll fill me in and he does.

"When you were too busy paying attention to their conversation,  I couldn't let the opportunity to scare you pass me by." I huff in annoyance and his shoulders shake in silent laughter. "When you're preoccupied, you zone out to the point of no immediate return."

Instead of commenting, I take my turn to peer over his shoulder and smirk at a sudden thought.

"Now who's being nosy?" I whisper to him and he stops laughing.

"Oh, shut up." He says, trying to sound intimidating and failing miserably. I imagine him rolling his eyes right about now and I'm seriously wishing the best of luck to Morgan. She's going to need it with this hard-headed mate of hers.

The sound of a door being wretched open has both our heads turning back up the stairs.

McKenna is stomping angrily down the steps with Mo at her heels.

"Where are you going?" Morgan yells after her in partial anger and the other is slight hysterics.

I quickly grab Adrian's arm to stop him from running to his mate. He tugs against my grip, but I don't release him in the slightest.

"They need to get this out?" I say, barely audible to even my own ears, but when he slumps his shoulders slightly, I know I win.

"Away from you and your new family!" McKenna says coldly to her frozen sister before turning on her heels and practically ripping the door off its hinges to get out.

The silence that follows is deafening and I release my firm grip on his arm. He immediately goes to his mate and I go back into the living room to give them their privacy.

I sit on the comfortable leather couch and close my eyes as I lean back into the plush cushions.

Honestly, Micki needs a little while to calm down. I can guess it's hard to watch your little sister grow up and find a mate and no longer need you to look out for them. In the time that I had been with the group of she-wolves, they had been attached at the hip and inseparable. Now, she's feeling abandoned and lonely because-

Someone clears their throat and my eyes spring open.

Looking around, I see Alpha Mason standing in the doorway with an unreadable expression on his face.

"Oh, umm, I'm sorry. I'll just be leaving." I make a move to leave, but he holds up a hand to stop me.

"That's not necessary; I would like to speak with you, actually." I stay silent and he gestures for me to take a seat.

I sit down in the same spot that I had been in and face him sitting opposite me.

"What would you like to talk about?"

"Your friends, you are all very nice girls and I would like to ask if you might stay with my pack." He looks at me hopefully.

"I-uh... You should ask Charlotte. She's in charge and I wouldn't want to answer without speaking with her first." This is awkward.
