I pushed open the front door to the house and a familiar face greeted me.
"Mom!" I cried, hugging her, "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you still be in D.C.?"
"Yes, I should, sweetie," she answered, "But business has brought me back here."
"Oh," I exclaimed, "You're the detective they hired? I heard something about that."
"No," my mom answered, "That would be your two teachers Mrs. Cinch and Mr. Stone. They went under disguise to investigate. Oh, and "Mrs. Cinch", and you call her, has a son named Terrence. But I think you know him as Terry."
"No way!" I cried, "Seriously mom!"
"Yep," she nodded.
As I sat on the couch, my mom told me about what happened to Alyssa and where they found her.
"We believe that Kate, if still alive, is being held in the room as well," she told me, "And by the description and location, we believe that the room is the school's basement. And that, is exactly where we're all going this afternoon."
