Chapter 15- Kyle
In the elevator, the lights suddenly went out and the elevator stopped moving.
"They must have turned the power off," I said to myself, trying not to panic. Quickly, I tried to find an emergency button in the elevator to press.
I had read stories where people got stuck in elevators and the first thing they needed to do was conserve air. I started to slow down my breathing and at the same time, banged on the elevator doors in hopes that someone would hear me. The sounds of kids running out of the school drowned out my banging on the door. I would never say that I'm claustrophobic, but this was starting to get pretty bad. Is there a fear of being-trapped-in-an-elevator-with-the power-out-and-an-abnormal-virus-spreading-throughout-your-school?
Luckily, in about two or three minute, I heard a muffled shout. It was Lauren... I think. Though I couldn't hear that well from inside, it sounded like she was trying to help.
As she tried to scream through the elevator, the only thing I heard was, "I mauled Nate!"
Well that didn't seem very nice, despite the fact I didn't know anyone named Nate.
