Chapter 27- Kate
I was at home when someone knocked at the door. My mom answered.
"Hello, officer. What's wrong?" she asked. I quickly raced down the stairs, my black boots clunking its way down with me.
"We have a warrant to search this house," the officer said in a serious voice, presenting an important looking paper to my mom. She didn't even have time to read it when all of a sudden, police officers invaded our house.
"What are you doing? THIS IS MY HOUSE!" my mom screamed. They continued raiding every single room, even the room that Patrick was ever so soundly sleeping in.
"Empty!" said a different officer, whom I did not recognize. Immediately, the whole squad of officers left and continued down our street.
A few seconds later, Patrick walked in, rubbing his eyes in confusion. My mom scooped him up into her arms and nurtured, "It's okay, it's okay."
I sat on the couch, wide eyed and even more confused. Turning on the TV, my eyes widened. Headline news: KATERINA MEDDLOCK: CRIMINAL ON THE LOOSE
