Meet Again

Christmas 2017

"I don't like nutsy milk" Nicky said

"Um...what?" April asked, confused

Just then Luke walked into the kitchen

"Grandpa, I don't like nutsy milk!" Nicky said

"What is he talking about?" Luke asked Rory

"I don't know" Rory said "bubba, what don't you like?"

"Daddy likes nuts in his milk, but I don't like nuts in my milk"

Rory looked back at where Logan was making coffee, and putting almond milk in his own mug.

"Do you mean almond milk?" Rory asked with a chuckle

"Yeah. Daddy likes nuts in his milk, but I don't like nuts in my milk, I like milk in my milk, and Sammy likes baby milk"

"That kid just said 'milk' so many times" Luke said

"What does that have to do with pouring your milk into your cereal?" April asked

"I dunno" Nicky shrugged

"Apple please" Grace signed

"Red or green?" Rory signed

"Red"

"Ok" Rory got an apple from the fridge and started cutting it up for Grace

"Coffee" Logan said and put a mug in front of Rory, one in front of Lorelai, and one in front of April "Luke, I know you don't drink coffee so I didn't make you one, but I can if you want"

"I don't drink coffee" Luke said

"Damn it!" Rory exclaimed, surprising everyone. She was usually very careful about her choice of words around the kids.

"Did you just cut yourself?" Logan asked

"Yeah"

Logan grabbed a clean kitchen towel and passed it to Rory, who wrapped it around her hand.

"What happened?" Nicky asked

"I'm fine, baby" Rory said

"You're bleeding"

"I know. It's ok"

Just then they heard Sammy crying on the baby monitor.

"Do you want me to get him?" April offered

"Yes please" Logan said "are you ok?" He asked quietly 

"I don't know" Rory exhaled

"Let me see your hand" Lorelai said

Rory held her hand out

"Yeah...you probably need stitches"

"So much for not spending Christmas in a hospital" Rory sighed "although, better me than one of the kids"

April walked back into the kitchen, holding Sammy.

"Alright, I'm gonna feed him and then I think we're going to the emergency room" Logan said

"I'll drive" Lorelai said "Logan, you should stay here"

An hour later, Rory and Lorelai got back to the apartment. Nicky ran over to them and hugged Rory's legs.

"Well?" Logan asked

"13 stitches" Rory said

"Ouch" Logan grimaced "you ok?"

"Yeah. I had an anesthetic injection for the stitches, so my hand's actually numb right now"

"Ok, well we waited for you to do presents"
