Meet Again

Cats

About a week after the implants were turned on Rory and Logan took the kids to a cat cafe, a few blocks away from their apartment building.

"Where are we going?" Nicky asked

"It's a surprise" Logan told him

"Why are we walking?"

"Because we're going somewhere close" Rory said

Having a small child and a baby they usually drive everywhere, unless it was only a few blocks in which case they walked.

A few minutes later they walked into a cafe. One wall of the cafe was a giant window which looked into a room with about 30 cats in it, along with cat trees and toys.

"Kitties!" Nicky said, excitedly

"You wanna go play with them?" Logan offered

"I can go in?!"

"Yup" Rory smiled. She took Nicky hand and brought him into the cat room, where there were a few other people as well. Logan started on the other side of the window, holding Grace.

"This one likes me" Nicky said when a cate came over to him. He bent down to pet it.

Rory bent down and looked at the tag "his name is...potato?" She chuckled softly. She stood up and signed to Logan "The cat's name is potato"

"What?" Logan signed. He was sure that he misunderstood

Rory signed slower "his name is potato"

"Seriously?"

"That's what the tag says"

After playing with the cats for a little while, they sat at a table and had coffee. Nicky got chocolate milk. 

"Here baby" Rory said and handed Grace a small piece of a muffin

"Can we keep potato?" Nicky asked

"I don't think so" Rory said

"Why not?"

"Because he lives here with ask of his cat friends. He would be sad if he had to leave"

Nicky thought for a second "can we come back and visit him?"

"Sure buddy"

The next day at Friday night dinner, Nicky told everyone all about the cats.

"And his name was potato. And he was grey and white. And he was really soft. And I love him"

"I'm sorry" Lorelai chuckled softly. She was sitting across from Rory and Logan with Grace on her lap "did you say cat cafe?"

"Mhmm" Nicky nodded

"I've never heard of that" Richard said

"It's basically a cafe but one wall is a big glass window that looks into a room full of cats, and you can go in and pet them" Rory said "it opened a few weeks ago, like 3 blocks away from our building"

Grace started fussing, and lorelai gently rocked her.

"Do you want me to take her?" Logan asked

"I got her" Lorelai said "how's this going, by the way?" She gestured to the sides of Grace's head, where the processors were.

"It's actually really funny"  Rory said  "we were in the kitchen last night, and I had to put her down for a second because I needed both hands. So I put her on the floor and when I went to pick her up one of her processors was missing"
