Early Friday morning, Rory and Logan were asleep, Logan's arms around Rory, holding her close.
"Die" Rory grumbled when Logan's alarm went off
"Sorry Ace" Logan chuckled and turned the alarm off "early meeting"
"I hate you"
"Love you too" Logan said and kissed Rory before getting out of bed
That night they had dinner at the Gilmore's. When they got there, lorelai was standing in the driveway, waiting for them.
"Mom, what are you doing?" Rory asked
"Do you smell that?" Lorelai asked
"No"
"It smells like hot dogs" Lorelai said "they're barbecuing"
"They've barbecued before"
"Not hot dogs. They think that hot dogs aren't real food"
"Why are you standing out here?"
"Luke couldn't come tonight, and I don't wanna be alone with my parents"
Rory got Grace out of the car while Logan got Nicky and they all went inside. Maid told them that Richard and Emily were on the patio so they headed outside.
"Oh, my god. You actually made hot dogs" Lorelai said in disbelief
"Well, Nicky is very picky and he almost never eats here, so tonight we're going kid friendly and having a barbecue" Emily said "hot dogs, burgers, and corn on the cob"
"And we're eating outside" Richard added
"Who is that, and what has she done with my mother?" Lorelai whispered to Rory
A little while later the food was all ready and everyone was sitting down.
"You don't like hot dogs?" Emily asked
"I do, I actually just can't have one right now" Rory said "because come January 3rd, you will have another grandson"
"What?!" Lorelai exclaimed
Rory laughed "yeah, and it's a little weird because this one and Grace are technically from the same...I don't wanna say 'batch' but I'm going to for lack of a better word"
"That's wonderful" Richard said
"Congratulations" Emily said
"Thank you" Rory smiled
"Hey, are you gonna add to your tattoo?" Lorelai asked
"You have a tattoo?" Emily asked Rory in disbelief
"Not me" Rory said "Logan"
"I didn't know that" Emily said
"Yeah, I have one for Rory, and one for each of the kids" Logan said "the jewelry thing doesn't work as well for me as it does for her"
Rory had a necklace that said 'Nicholas' on it, a bracelet that said 'Grace', her wedding band and engagement ring. All of which she very rarely took off.
"How did I never notice that you have tattoos?" Emily asked
"They're small" Logan said "I have this one" he rolled up his left sleeve to reveal an ace of hearts on his inner wrist "then on my chest I have Nicky's footprints from when he was first born, along with his full name and date of birth, and I have the same for Grace"
"And you have the wings" Rory said "he has a set of little angle wings for the 2 we lost"
"That's sweet" Emily said
