Meet Again

Hospital

"Alright..." Dr Williams said "here he is" she handed the baby to a nurse who put the baby on Rory's chest. "Good job, mommy, congrats"

Rory started crying and even Logan teared up.

"Oh, my god, Ace. He's so perfect" Logan said and kissed Rory's cheek

"Hi baby" Rory said, softly 

Rory held the baby for a while before giving him to Logan so he could hold him for a while.

"You scared?" Rory asked as she watched Logan walk around the room, holding Nicky

"Terrified"

"You guys are gonna be great" the nurse said

"That's easy to say, but up until 20 minutes ago I'd never even held a newborn, let alone fed one, changed one, and kept one alive" Rory said

"You wanna try feeding him, now?" The nurse offered

"Um..."

"Don't worry, we'll help you" another nurse said

A little while later the doctor came in to check on Rory while the baby was in the nursery.

"What is that?" Rory asked, noticing that Logan's hand looked bruised

"Nothing" Logan said and put his hands in his pockets. His hand was sore from Rory squeezing it, but he wasn't gonna bring it up, or complain

"Logan..."

Logan took his hand out of his pocket, revealing that the side of his hand was bruised and swollen

"Oh, my god! Did I do that?!"

"It's nothing" Logan said

"Yeah..." The doctor to a closer look at Logan's hand "that's not nothing. You need an X-ray"

"Logan, I'm so sorry!" Rory said "why didn't you say something?"

"You think I'm gonna complain about you squeezing my hand while you're literally giving birth?"

"I'm gonna call radiology and see if they can give you an X-ray" Dr Williams said

A couple of hours later, after they got some rest, Logan and Rory invited Lorelai, Honor and Christopher to come meet the baby.

Rory was sitting in the bed and Logan was in the chair, next to the bed, holding Nicky.

Lorelai and Honor got there before Christopher.

"Hi!" Lorelai whispered as she and Honor walked into the room. She walked over and hugged Rory

"How are you feeling?" Honor asked

"Good. tired. Happy" Rory smiled "it's so crazy how much I love him. It's like my heart is gonna explode"

"I can't believe you have a baby" Lorelai said "that's nuts"

"I don't know if I fully believe it, myself" Rory chuckled

"He's so cute" Honor said

"Can I hold him?" Lorelai and Honor asked at the same time

"Grandma trumps aunt" Honor said "you first"

Logan stood up and handed Nicky to Lorelai

"He's so beautiful" Lorelai said

"When exactly was he born?" Honor asked

"6:32am, August 11th, 2012" Logan said

Lorelai and Honor both held Nicky before leaving the room so Rory could feed him.
