Rory, Logan, Honor, Josh, and all of their kids went to Martha's Vineyard in July.
One day they were at the beach and Logan took Nicky into the water.
Rory an honor were sitting on a beach blanket with Grace.
"Where are josh and Nathan?" Rory asked
"They went to play basketball" Honor said
Just then Logan walked over, carrying a crying Nicky.
"What happened?" Rory asked as she took Nicky from Logan and he wrapped his arms around her neck.
"He got stung by a jellyfish" Logan told her
"Aww" Rory said and rubbed Nicky's back "let me see"
Nicky showed Rory his leg
"Oh bubba" Rory kissed the top of Nicky's head
"I don't like the ocean"
"I know"

That night Rory and Logan were the last 2 awake in the house. They were snuggled up on the couch.
"This is nice" Logan said "all of us, here. I never did stuff like this growing up"
"It is pretty great" Rory said "I don't think Nicky will be going back in the ocean for a while, though"
"Probably not"
Just then Nicky appeared at the bottom of the stairs. "Mama"
Rory sat up "what's wrong bubba" she asked as Nicky climbed up into her lap and she wrapped her arms around him
"I wanna be with you" Nicky said quietly and snuggled into her
"It's late, you need to sleep"
"I wanna sleep in your room"
Rory sighed and looked at Logan "ok" Rory brought Nicky into her's and Logan's room and put him in bed "Good night bubba" Rory said and kissed Nicky's forehead

A couple of days later Grace was sitting in a high chair and Logan was in front of her trying to get her to talk.
"Can you say dada? Say dada"
"It's not gonna happen" Rory said
"Yes it will"
"So were you just not listening at all those doctors appointments?" Rory asked sarcastically
"What do you mean?" Josh asked
"First of all, even with the cochlears there's no guarantee that she'll talk" Rory said "secondly, if she does talk, it's not gonna be when most babies talk. It'll be later. And Logan's refusing to acknowledge that"
"She might surprise us" Logan said "you don't know"
"I love you, but you're delusional" Rory patted Logan's shoulder before picking Grace up
They decided to spend the day by the pool.
Nicky was standing by the edge of the pool, playing catch with Nathan who was in the pool. Rory noticed Logan looking back and forth between Nicky and the pool.
"Don't you dare" Rory whispered
"What?" Logan asked
"You know what"
"What makes you think that you know what I'm thinking?"
"Because I know you" Rory said "and I'd like to remind you that that is your 3 year old son"
"He's almost 4"
"He is 3 years old. He's not Colin, or Finn, or another one of your stupid friends. He's not gonna think it's funny if you push him in the pool"
"How do you know? He can swim. Maybe he'll think it's funny"
"Logan..."
"Fine" Logan exhaled "but as his father I reserve the right to do it when he's a little older"
"Whatever you have to tell yourself" Rory said and kissed Logan before getting up to get something to drink.
A little later everyone was in the pool except Rory.
"Mommy come in the pool!" Nicky shouted
"I think I'm gonna stay here" Rory said
"Please?"
"Yeah, please?" Logan smirked
"How can I say no to that?"
"You can't" Honor chuckled
"Oh fine...I'm coming in the pool"

After a couple of weeks at the beach, they finally got home, late one night.
"Take your shoes off please" Rory said right when they stepped into the apartment
"Why?" Nicky asked as he started taking his shoes off
"Because you've been walking around on the beach for 3 weeks, and I don't want sand in the house" Rory said as she took off Grace's shoes
"Why?"
"Because, it's messy" Logan said as he took off his own shoes
"Why?"
Logan took a deep breath "I don't know"
"Ok" Nicky shrugged and took his shoes off before running upstairs
"I'm so tired" Logan said
"Yeah" Rory agreed "traveling with kids is a lot harder than traveling alone"
It was quiet for a moment.
"Diapers" Rory's sighed
"You want me to do it?" Logan offered
"No, I mean we need diapers"
"Yeah, do you want me to do it?"
"Wow, you really are tired" Rory chuckled
"What?" Logan asked
"We need diapers" Rory said "as in one of us needs to go to the store and buy some. And judging by this interaction, I think it should be me"
"I'll put the kids to bed then?"
"Yeah. I'll be back soon"
