IV.XII

Dick, Gar, and Cassie walk into the main room where the others were.

"Oh, hey," Jinx smiles. "Look at you."

Tim cheers, "Hey, Gar-virus."

"Almost human-sized again."

Gar chuckles, "Yeah, yeah." He does his handshake with Tim.

"How's Conner?" Dick asks.

Tim answers, "I'm not sure, he keeps calling me 'home slice'."

"Well, he said I'm hotter than last July, so, I'd say he's fine."

They all chuckled. 

"Are you sure he's clean?" Dick asked again. "From the curse?"

Jinx shrugged, "Mmm, he's clean all right. I checked him up one side and down the other."

Tim chuckled, "Good for you."

"He may not be fully himself yet, so I'll talk to him once he's ready," Cassie sighed and ran a hand through her hair.

Rachel and Kory were back and walked in as well.

Dick turned around, "Where's Sebastian?"

"He sacrificed himself to save us. She has him now," Kory explained.

Tim sighed, "As far as we know, this temple could be on the top of Mount Everest."

"And even if we do find it, how do we get him out of there?" Rachel asks.

Gar takes a bite of a banana, "We could teleport. Oh that's not a thing?"

"Mmm, yes and no," Cassie mutters.

Kory adds, "And this is all assuming the ritual hasn't already happened. If it has-"

"We're fucked," Jinx finishes. "The whole world is fucked."

Dick sighs, "We gotta still believe there's a chance."

"A chance to save him," Rachel says.

"Yes, anything less is a failure."

"So what's our move?" Jinx asks.

Cassie starts to say, "Give me twenty-"

She stops talking as Conner walks in, completely bald.

Gar points at him with his banana, "Something- something happened to your head."

Kory sniffs, "Are you wearing cologne?" She coughs.

Conner stops and looks at Jinx, "It's Drakkar Noir. You're welcome."

Cassie furrows her brows, and shares a look with Dick.

"If you're all done taking in the view..." He exhales and puts his feet up on the table. "Grab a seat. We've got a demon to stop."

"Ok, well this," Cassie motions to Conner, "is new. But like I was saying, give me twenty minutes max and I can find the temple."

"Actually I have an idea," Conner stops her.

She raises her brow at him.

"The blood moon sets in two hours and six minutes," Dick says. "What's your big idea?"

Conner starts to explain, "It's a three-step process. We find them, kill them, and go have a cold one."

"Hot take," Jinx says.

Rachel shakes her head, "We're not doing that."

Conner gets up, "I am done playing demon rescue-and-rehab. This bitch killed my dad and put a snake up my guts. It's time for her and the kid to go bye-bye."
