(A/N: This is BEFORE Titans s1, you do not have to read these beforehand, it's kinda a backstory to what Cassie has gone through. Can read this before s1 or after any of the seasons, literally does not matter if or when you read this. It's for those who want to know why Cassie reacts to some things in a certain way. Season 1 starts at I.I, anything with a 0 is before s1. Thanks! Happy reading!)

"Bruce you cannot keep going out there alone! The next time you do I don't think you'll be coming home," Cassie crosses her arms in frustration.

The past few weeks have not been easy in Gotham. The Joker has been increasingly more active, more than he's ever been. He's been targeting big events with lots of people: charity events, sports games, concerts, anything of the sorts.

"Cassie," Bruce sighs, "I have no choice, he's planning something big and I have to stop him."

"Alfred please tell him he's being unreasonable," she looked to the older man still cleaning the materials they used to patch Bruce's latest injuries.

Alfred set down his rag, "I'm afraid Madam Cassie is correct Master Bruce. Perhaps reaching out to Master Dick?"

Cassie shook her head, "Gray wouldn't even pick up my calls, I doubt he'd come back even for a situation like this, he's... he's just too angry right now."

"Cassie's right. I don't have any other option than to go alone. The Justice League won't lend a hand to aid in stopping a single man, even if it is the Joker," Bruce leaned against the table holding his side.

"Yes you do," Cassie looked down at her ring, it was her mother's old one that her father had given her for her 10th birthday, "Me."

Alfred stopped what he was doing to fully look at the woman, "Madam Cassie."

Bruce shook his head, "Cassie-no. We agreed that you could stay behind and watch our backs. The last time you went out you got severely hurt. I-"

"The last time I went into the field I was 13, and I only broke a couple of bones. I shouldn't have tried to jump the way I did and it was my fault. I-"

"That's not- Cassie you still tried to take on a man twice your size with your leg split in two, which caused you to fracture your shoulder. I will not have you making reckless decisions like that again. It is much too dangerous."

"Bruce. I was 13. I didn't realize how stupid it was. You were trying to figure out Gray and I's strong suits on the field individually, mine was never close contact. It was always from a distance. My aim is killer, was and still is. I can watch your back from afar and take out any stragglers you don't have time to get to."

This made Bruce and Alfred begin to think.

"I know I hate going out in the field because I am not confident in close combat, but if I just stay away from the main fight up in the rafters or keep my distance then there shouldn't be a problem. I could still watch your back, but I could make sure that you come home."

"Madam Cassie does make a good point Master Bruce," Alfred resumed his cleaning of the medical tools.

"I'll think about it, Cassie. I just can't have you getting hurt again. And you don't even have a suit, what if you get shot at? I don't know Cassie."

"I can wear Bab's old bodysuit and just throw a hoodie over it. I'm sure one of Gray's old masks will fit me too. Both will protect me enough to where if that does happen then I will be less likely to be injured."
