"Hi, my name is Sunny Merideth James. I go by Sunny for my stage name. I am currently 23 years old. I am the third child in my family. Two older brothers and a younger sister."

"I am a singer, rapper, dancer, model, endorser, choreographer, producer, lyricist, and host of my own variety show. I am signed under HYBE Label in Big Hit Entertainment as all of the ones I've spoken just now."

"I am also a signed producer under SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, Starship Entertainment, and Ithaca Holdings."

"I debuted as a K-Pop idol in 2018 but went on hiatus after 3 months of being active due to me taking a national exam in 2019. After finishing my exam in November of 2019, I return to the industry with the hope that I can focus on my work as a K-Pop idol without interruption."

"I did release a song but soon after that, COVID-19 got into my way. But fortunately, I was still able to work through social media and promotion online because there was no other way. By hook or crook, you gotta learn how to do it online."

"Things went up and down. But even with COVID-19 going on, K-Pop was still really active. And I was able to go up high. Really high. Soaring really high. I did not expect that."

"2022 was one of the toughest times. 2022 and 2023. During the time when my dad passed away because of an accident. It still affects me today. I still feel a little empty feeling that he's not around us anymore."

"2023 was mostly hiatus but still a lot of working. 2024 and 2025 are the concerts. It's work every single day, every week and every weekend, we had a show in an arena, open field, stadium."

"I never thought I would be performing in stadiums. Never in my mind. Never in my head. Never in my life did I ever think I would perform in stadiums."

"End of 2024 was when I announce the expiration of my contract and my decision to not renew my contract. And the time has come for me to step down."

"Any future plans on returning?"

"Honestly I don't know. I haven't thought about it yet. I just wanna rest right now. Like - forget about work. I'm gonna do what I want and love first. Of course, I love what I"m doing now."

"I just wanna be with my family right now. Help at home and travel. Spend time with my family and just forget about work."

"Spend time with old friends. Childhood friends. Maybe even find a partner. Because why not? I'm 23 years old and it's kinda time to find someone to love. And to build a family of my own. I have a stable job. I have saved a lot and I think it's quite an amount to start a family."

"Do I want kids?"

"God, I do want kids. But I'm only going for 1 now. For now, I'm thinking 1. I'm gonna spoil them with everything I have while still warning them to not show off because there are other children who doesn't have what my kids will have."

"Oh, God. Why am I talking about kids now?"

"Although it wasn't all sweet memories, no work has only sweet memories. I'm grateful for what I had. And I am grateful for all the bittersweet memories I made in the industry."

"I learn a lot of things. I understood a lot of things. I met new people. Different people. With different attitude. Worst to the best. It's all memories. TOo much memories that I can't list all out every single one of them."

"I was once asked about my goal when I was a K-Pop idol and I couldn't answer. All I could think is, I work. It's my job. I have no goals. I just wanna do good in my job. That's all."

"But returning home that night, I actually kept thinking about it the whole time. What was my goal as a K-Pop idol? Some K-Pop idols say that they want to be a source of happiness for their fans. I don't know what's mine."

"I thought about this a lot and I think that today, I finally have an answer for this question. What is my goal as a K-Pop idol?"

"Mine is simple. I want to gain attention and stand up for what's right. I stand for feminism. I know this is quite weird and unusual to a lot. But I do want to be a source of happiness for my fans. But also to educate them on what I know the most. Equal for everyone."

"I'm from a wealthy family and I never felt discriminated until I came here to Seoul. Discriminated because of my brown colored skin. It hurts. Well, some people think there are only white people in the world. That's sickening."

"And I feel that other than that, Asian people are also get discriminated a lot. If I can get a million fans, that's enough for me to start a group of people who can think the same as me. Turns out I got more than a million. Even 10 million."

"So... yeah."

"Sometimes it goes right. Sometimes it doesn't."

"Sometimes, I gotta go with the flow."

"Sometimes."
