I notice that Owen's body language was tense and stiff so I shut the door.

Delilah: is everything okay Owen?
Owen: just go away.
Delilah: come on O. You know you can talk to me about anything.

Owen doesn't respond.

Delilah: okay. I'll leave you alone.

I walk out of the room and I check on my other patients.

-later-

Jackson and I walk into the patient's room where Edwards was stitching his head.

Jackson: you doing a single interrupted suture layer then?
Edwards: no, running a subcuticular.
Delilah: even better. Not conscious yet?
Edwards: no. The girlfriend?
Jackson: still in the OR?
Edwards: his head CT is clear. He has a grade-three liver lac. Dr. Grey wants serial abdominal exams and six hour crits.

Suddenly, the patient becomes conscious and starts choking on the breathing tube.

Delilah: oh, alright, okay sir.
Edwards: hold on, hold on.
Jackson: alright, I'm gonna get this out of your throat, okay? One second, I'm gonna count to three and you're gonna blow it out. One, two, and three.

Jackson takes the tube out and the patient starts coughing.

Delilah: there you go. Good job. That's it. Let's get you sat up, and we need to clear that airway.
Keith: what's happening? What are you doing?
Edwards: sir, you are in the hospital, okay? You had an accident.
Delilah: can you tell us your name?
Keith: it's Keith.
Jackson: okay.
Edwards: Keith, Keith, you're safe, okay? We have Alison here too.
Keith: Alison?
Edwards: mhmm.
Keith: she's here? I-is she alright? Did you talk to her?
Delilah: she was unconscious when she came in.
Jackson: Alison has pretty severe internal injuries. We've got her in surgery right now.
Keith: Alison's in surgery? Okay. Uh, uh, w-when will she be out?
Edwards: uh, well, that's hard to tell.
Keith: I have to go.

Keith tries to sit up, but we push him back.

Jackson: no, no, settle down. Settle down.
Keith: I have to go see her!
Delilah: you need to stay in bed. You're not going anywhere.
Edwards: you need to lie in bed, okay? You have an injury to your liver. If you move, it can make it much worse.
Keith: I have to...
Jackson: look, we are gonna make sure to let you know how she is as soon as she's out, okay? Right now, I need you to relax.
Keith: okay.
Jackson: okay?
Keith: okay.
Jackson: thank you.
Keith: thanks.

Jackson, Edwards and I walk out of the room and towards the OR board.

Minnick: Edwards, I assume your patient's awake and stable if you felt comfortable leaving him.
Edwards: alert and oriented times three. Lacs are repaired. Vitals are stable. He's looking for an update on his girlfriend.

Just then, Maggie approaches us.

Jackson: oh hey, is she awake?
Maggie: not yet. How is her boyfriend, husband, driving instructor?
Arizona: definitely not husband.
DeLuca: Dr. Pierce repaired an aortic injury, but she's not out of anesthesia yet. Why not husband?
Arizona: 'cause car sex is only for when it's new.
Delilah: that's not true.
Jackson: it could be cheating.
Maggie: or why do it? Someone is always uncomfortable with the gear shifts and the consoles. And just limbs everywhere.
J&D: that's why you do it in the backseat.
