Alex is getting his trial date today and to say I was nervous for him was an understatement. I hate all of this. My best friend is suffering for a mistake he made and I hated seeing him so stressed out.

As I walked through the hospital, I send Alex an encouraging text.

Me: I know you're only getting a trial date today, but I'm with you today Alex ❤️ I love you with every bit of my heart 😘 let me know how it goes 💕

My Forever Person 💖: thankful I have you in my corner ❤️ love you Lilah 😘

I walk over to the OR board and I see Arizona there.

Delilah: hi Arizona.
Arizona: hi.

Since the custody battle, things have been more decent between Arizona and I. She has apologized and I have forgiven her, but I can't forget.

I see Maggie and Riggs approaching.

Maggie: Robbins, Lilah, have you met the new resident? She is great. No, amazing. She's better than some of my Attendings.
Riggs: woah. Hold on a second.
Delilah: new resident?
Arizona: I didn't even know we got a new resident.
Maggie: yeah, Webber just hired her. She's– hold on.

I look up at the board and I write my name on the board.

Maggie: Dr. Robbins, Del, this is—

I turn around and my eyes grow wide when I see... Leah Murphy standing in front of me. I haven't seen her since she was fired from the program.

Arizona: Murphy!
Murphy: Dr. Robbins. Hi.
Riggs: you guys know each other?
Arizona: um...

Awkward.

Murphy: yes.
Arizona: Leah– D-D-Dr. Murphy used to—
Murphy: I used to work here.
Arizona: yes. I have patients.

I hold in a laugh as Arizona walks off.

Murphy: it's nice to see you again Dr. Shepherd.
Delilah: it's actually Avery-Shepherd now. Got married forever ago.
Murphy: congrats.
Riggs: you know each other too?
Delilah: yes we do. Again, she used to work here.

I hear my pager and I look down.

Delilah: it's the ER. Welcome back Murphy.

I run down to the ER and I get informed about an incoming MVC so I grab a trauma gown and I approach Owen and Amy.

Delilah: hey! Incoming any second, MVC. Kid with possible head trauma, dad with multiple abdominal injuries. Gonna need another set of hands on Neuro Ames.
Amy: right behind you kiddo.

I run off into the ambulance bay and approach the incoming ambulance.

Delilah: talk to me.
Paramedic: Robbie Reeves, 12, MVC. Restrained passenger. Vitals stable. No LOC on the scene. Small scalp laceration.
Robbie: it was like a roller coaster!
Delilah: okay, Robbie, I'm Dr. Avery.
Robbie: where's my dad? I got to ask him how fast we were going.
Amy: it looks like he's pulling in right behind you.
Delilah: Robbie sweetie, is your head hurting?
Robbie: barely. Can you ask him?
Delilah: in a minute. Amy, can you check him out?
Amy: yeah, you go to the dad.

Amy wheels him in and I run to the other ambulance.

Paramedic: Bob Reeves, 40's, the driver. Some abdominal bruising, tenuous BP, large wounds on the left leg.
Bob: Robbie?! Where's my son? Somebody tell me if my son is here.
Delilah: Bob, my name is Dr. Avery. Your son was just wheeled inside, okay?
Bob: okay. Okay. Good. Thank you.
Ben: you got some nasty bruising. You got pretty banged up out there Mr. Reeves.
Bob: you should see my car.
