"Freed! Answer your damn phone!" Laxus shouts.

"I don't want to!"

"You're going to wake up the kids!"

"You shouting will wake them up!"

"WAHHHHHHHH!" Lexi cries out.

I got up from the couch and checked my phone.

[3 missed calls from Minerva]

I called her back and waited for her to answer. We haven't talked for five days since I proposed to her. She adopted Athena, and we didn't finalize our engagement.

"Hey, Freed," Minerva spoke from the phone.

"Is something wrong?"

"I need you to come to the hospital."

"Why? Are you okay?"

"I'm okay, but I need you to see something."

"Uh, alright. I'll be there."

"See you there."

She ended the call.

"Freed, I said you could stay here if you don't make the kids cry."

Laxus entered the living room.

"Well, it was not my fault. You were shouting across the house."

"Because you didn't answer your loud phone!"

"My fault. Thanks for letting me crash here again."

"It's been five days. Why didn't you stay at your place?"

"I don't know. I needed a new environment."

"You want to stay at a place that smells like vomit?"

"Well, it smells great in the morning when Mirajane makes breakfast."

"Yeah, whatever. How long are you planning to stay here?"

"Not for long. I promise."

"I'll take your word for it."

"I have to go to the hospital."

"For what?"

"I don't know. Minerva told me to come."

"Well, good luck."

"Thanks."

I changed into my regular clothes and took my keys. I drove to the hospital and met Minerva in her room.

"Is something wrong?" I asked.

There was another woman with her. She had shoulder-length platinum blonde hair. She was about Minerva's height and had greenish-blue eyes. She looked oddly similar to...

"Oh, my Mavis..."

"Freed, this is Carmen. Carmen, this is Freed." Minerva introduced us.

"Oh, my Mavis. Carmenbug?"

"Freedo?"

"Oh, my goodness. It's you."

I ran up to hug Carmen.
