Namrata's pov:
I woke up at 5 and did my morning chores and started doing my assignment finally at 9 I completed and got ready and went downstairs..
Every eyes were on me....
"Good morning everyone.. I am leaving for college I am already late see you in the evening" i said
"but have your breakfast its your favourite aloo paratha" di said
"di please pack for me I will have it in college"
"Namrata"papa called
"yes papa..."
"what's is your decision"
shittt... can't di pack fast i need to go and I don't want to answer first means before knowing Aditya's answer
"papa I have not thought about it actually"
"ok think about it because they have given their answer "
"ok dad" and took the tiffin from di's hand and rushed out from home
I was starting my scooty when di came up to me and said
"its a yes from Aditya"
"what???" I was really shocked
"How can someone decide so fast.. how can he not think that I am fat and i dont even don't look very good even I don't put so much makeup and he is opposite of me he is smart, handsome, perfect shape, his eyes everything was perfect then how come can he say yes to me.." with these thoughts in my mind i reached college
I was thinking that i should tell all these things to my friends or not then finally i decided that yes i should and told them everything...
Then they suggested me that i should talk to Aditya and clear my doubts and talk whatever is in my mind and decide.. i made a note to myself that at 7:30 pm. i will call him...
Aditya's pov:
I the breakfast table also nobody said something about Namrata what was taking this long to answer.. Is there any confusion? does she knows my answer? all these thoughts were running in my mind..
It was around 7:30 pm i was at my office room
My phone buzzed and I see Namrata was calling
"hello" i said
"hi" she said
"can we talk for a moment? if you are busy then we can talk later" she asked
"no i was just working but we can talk i can do it after sometime"
"Actually papa told me today morning about your decision... and..." she stopped
"and?"
"I want to ask you something"
"yes you may"
"Why you want to marry me?"
"What type of question is it?"
"I mean I am chubby actually no fat, I don't look good, I am not a beautiful girl and ..."
I cut her in between and said
"listen whatever kind of things you are saying it doesn't matter to me.. I have already told you that what expectations I have from my life partner and you are beautiful, your simplicity, you are really different and whatever you are saying, it won't change my answer"
"okay"
"so all your doubts are clear?"
"actually yes"
"so may I know your answer?"
"i need to think.. so i will give my answer tomorrow"
"i will be waiting"

Namrata's pov:
The moment I heard his answer about my doubt i made my mind that Yes he is the one for me....
After dinner I and di were chatting in my room about my studies then she suddenly asked me for my answer and I blushed by the mention of it
"di.. its a yes from my side also"
"are you sure?"
"yes di definitely"
she came and gave me a bone cracking hug and congratulated me..
"but di please tell everyone after I go to college"
"but why"
"actually di I firstly want to tell aditya.. ans secondly I don't want to be teased by everyone at one time"
"ohhhoooo.... from now only first priority to him"
"ohho di first one you are to know only"
"ohh ya.. so get ready to become Mrs. Namrata Aditya Chakravarty" she teased me with a wink
"di... please"
"somebody is really becoming red"
"di no.. I am going to sleep "
"ya get into sleep early.. then only you can dream about Aditya"
"good night di you dream about jiju then"
this time di blushed
It was 8 in the morning i received a text
It was from aditya- "good morning"
"good morning".. then in next line i wrote "i want to tell you something"
"Good morning.. yes please" he replied
"its a YES from my side too"
"are you sure?"
"yes i am"
then he called me up within seconds
"hello" i said
"hi.... ummm.. don't you have anymore questions?"
"no"
"welcome to the family... so have you told everyone?" he asked
"actually I just told di yesterday midnight but told her to tell after I went to college because I personally wanted to tell you my answer first" I could sense that he was smiling
"thank you so much.. this made me feel special"
" you are welcome... If you don't mind can we talk later actually today I have to go to college early I have presentation to give so I need to get ready"
"yes see you later and all the very best"
"thank you"
"you are already welcome"
"bye"
"bye"
I kept the call and the words were running in my mind "OMG...!! I am going to get married"
Third person's pov:
Both the families were happy with their children's answer and agreed to get them engaged on Friday and get them blessed by each others families because Namrata has her exams in may then only they could get married so its better to get engaged..
{in Bengali there is no such ritual as engagement but then also they are getting engaged because their marriage is going to be late but there is a ceremony of aashirbaad so it was engagement + aashirbaad}
IT WAS FINALLY FRIDAY
Namrata wore a beautiful purple saree and Aditya wore kurta pyjamas

It was 6p.m. Aditya finally with his family arrived at Namrata's home for the aashirbaad and the engagement ceremony..
Aditya's pov:
I was parking the car outside the house her house I looked up and smiled that finally things today will be happening to make her mine for forever.. She thinks she is not perfect and beautiful but if she could see herself from my eyes then she would know what a gem she is..
I and my family were welcomed by hers family I touched elders feet and they blessed me but my eyes were searching for her that where is she.. This was a small function between very closed friends and family..
Rohan asked me "so whom your eyes are searching?"
"Obviously his eyes eyes would be searching for one and only" Rishi
"yes and she must be very special"rohan said
"yes I am also eager to meet her" rishi said
"and someone could not wait to see her" rohan said
I was going to say them to shut up but then I saw her coming she was looking so beautiful and cute also.. she kept her head lowered but I could see the blush on her cheeks..
She came and then we were made sit infront of god and the rituals started first her father came and gave me coconut 1001rs., made me wear gold chain and some gift then her uncle blessed me , then aunty , jiju and didi
Then it was Namrata's turn I saw her adjusting and I sensed she was nervous
So I told her whispering slowly so that nobody could hear "don't worry everything is fine and you look beautiful"
she blushed and said "thank you and you also look good"
Then my father came and gave her coconut and some gifts and mother came and gave her some sets of jewellery then my grandmother came and blessed her she touched her feet and and she said "na betu paa chuyona tumi to maa duggar moto.. tumi eshe amader songshaar pooro korle.. ar khushi theko sob somoye ar tomader juti jano eromi bhogobaan shiv ar maa duggar moto bene thaake" (no dear no need to touch feet you are like mother durga.. you are coming to our family and making our family complete....always stay happy.. may both of your pair stay always like of lord shiv snd goddess durga)
By grandmother's blessings she turned into red tomato. I love when she blushes and the main reason behind this blush is only me..
Then didi came forward and gave her a ring and my mother also gave me ring to make her wear..
I took her left hand and made her wear the ring and I kissed on the knuckles of her and everyone started hooting and throwing flowers at us then the made me the ring..
And finally we were engaged
Third person's pov:
Both of them at the same time looked at each other and said in their minds
*i promise to take care of you and make you happy.. and finally from knowing each other just we are engaged to each other*
