Shawn and I raced each other to the beach. We wanted to see who would get there first, but Shawn beat me by a few inches.
While Shawn had his minute of celebration, I decided to put sunscreen on.
"Fuck yeah!" Shawn shouted with excitement.
I shook my head as I smiled and put sunscreen on.
When I got to the point where I needed to sunscreen my back, I had Shawn do it for me.
Sure did it feel weird, but he's my best friend. Sure, I may have feelings, but I'm not going to stop him from doing simple kind things that he's always done for me.
When he finished doing mine, he took off his shirt.
I might as well help him by doing his back, so I did.
After two minutes, I finished rubbing sunscreen all over his back.
There. I'm done touching him. It wasn't hard.
"Want to go in the ocean?" Shawn asked as he turned to me.
"Sure." I said as I rubbed the remainder of the sunscreen on my arms.
Once I did that, I followed Shawn into the ocean.
"There might be paparazzi here. In fact, I think I see a couple." Shawn said as he looked out in the distance.
"It's fine. I don't mind having my picture taken." I replied, and then I lost my balance and fell on my butt.
Shawn couldn't help but laugh.
"Yeah, I fell on my butt, real funny." I said sarcastically.
"Here, let me help you up." Shawn chuckled, walked closer to me, grabbed my hand, and then pulled me up.
"I bet that'll be a flattering pic." I said sarcastically.
"It sure will." Shawn said, and then bit his lip to keep down his laugh.
Immediately, I pushed Shawn into the ocean.
"That's what you get for laughing at me," I said once he got back up.
He flipped his bangs to the side, fixed his sunglasses, and then said, "You're going to get it now, Skyler Jones."
The next thing he did was he quickly grabbed me, and then dunked me under the water.
"Oh, you wanna play that game?" I looked at him seriously after getting my head up out of the water.
"Bring it."
I stood up, and then started splashing him.
He started splashing me back.
Soon enough, Aaliyah joined in.
She was splashing Shawn with me.
"Hey! I'm your brother! You're supposed to be on my side!" Shawn exclaimed.
"Not today. Sorry, bro." Aaliyah replied, and then continued splashing.
We splashed each other for a good few minutes, but after that Shawn got to me and twirled me around.
We were all laughing and having such a good time.
I glanced and saw that Mrs. Mendes was either videoing or taking pictures of us.
"Okay, I'm getting a little tired. Let's stop fooling around for a little." Shawn said, and then Aaliyah and I agreed.
We were tired as well.
We just swam and chilled for the rest of the time.
Shawn and I stayed close together.
"You guys are so cute." Aaliyah smiled at us.
"What do you mean?" Shawn asked.
"Together....as best friends." Aaliyah smiled.
"Oh. Well, I think we are cute as well." I smiled.
"Yeah...best friends alright..." Shawn replied.
Aaliyah and I exchanged a look, and then we immediately changed the subject.
"So, who would you want specifically at a party if you had one?" Shawn asked as he looked at me.
"I don't know. I only really want you guys there, which you will be obviously...just choose for me. I trust you." I replied.
"Okay. Will do." Shawn said.
"Do you have any interviews or something coming up?" Aaliyah asked Shawn.
"Not until after Sky's birthday." Shawn answered.
"That's good. So, we get to spend more time with Shawny." I smiled.
"That's right." Shawn replied.
"That means you'll get to show me the song you're working on? Skyler told me you were working on a song earlier. I did hear you playing guitar some." Aaliyah said.
"She did, did she? Well, I'll be happy to share with you little sis." Shawn smiled at his sister.
All of a sudden, I got a chill.
"Guys, I think I'm going to get out. I just got a chill, so..." I told them.
"Okay, we'll be behind you in a few. I have to talk to Liyah." Shawn said as he watched me stand up.
"Okay." I said, and then I walked to shore.
