Soraru thought that the first time he knew Mafu was the time when Soraru stepped into the flower shop. It might have been a first for Mafu, but for Soraru, the first time he known of Mafu's existence was when he first registered into his company with Amatsuki. It was indeed, however, the first time they saw each other in person at Mafu's flower shop.
Back then, the company didn't need to employ any more people yet at that time. Though, Kashitarou was a friend of his, and with him being his only, true friend, Soraru couldn't reject Kashitarou's request into taking them both in as employees. But, of course, Kashitarou did show both their resumes to him before he made any hasty decisions.
He flipped through Amatsuki's first, nodding approvingly at his capabilities to do work even though he was but an Omega. Then he picked up the other one, and stared at the picture of a dark haired young man in his formal attire, unable to move his eyes from him. He looked exhausted, tired of life, causing him to lose his supposedly-beautiful facial features.
"Mafumafu..." Soraru muttered his name quietly. He read every single detail of him carefully, not wanting to lose even a tiny thing about him.
"Soraru-san, how could you?"
Soraru managed to distract his attention towards the man sitting in front of him.
"What do you mean by that?"
"You're reading Mafu-kun's so, very tentatively but it was not the same when you read Amatsuki-kun's!" Kashitarou complained, not amused at Soraru's unfairness.
"Even if I don't read his resume, I'll still hire him, Kashitarou," Soraru lowered his gaze at the documents in hand, deciding to not look at that annoying Kashitarou anymore. The little Omega here named Mafumafu, he wasn't bad, in fact, Mafumafu was talented. For an Omega to get so much positive comments from an Alpha, this was indeed very rare. How did Kashitarou know him but fell for Amatsuki instead? "Hey, Kashitarou. This Mafumafu..."
"Ah, Mafu-kun? He's Amatsuki-kun's best friend, you see. It seems that he resigned from his old job and is in an urgent need of looking for a new one," Kashitarou picked up a pen and started spinning it with his fingers, seeming a little thoughtful. "And since he's a friend of Amatsuki-kun's, could you do me a favor and hire them for me?"
"Did he tell you why he needed one so desperately?" Soraru gave him another brief glance before he put his attention back on Mafu's resume. He already read everything in it but he just couldn't help but look at the photo of him again, and again.
"Mafu-kun doesn't have an Alpha. His parents threw him out of the house when he reached a legal age, living alone, and paying off his own rents since he didn't get any financial support from them at all. They say it was for Mafu-kun's good, but to be honest I just think that it's cruel for them to leave an Omega, let alone the fact that Mafu-kun's their child, out alone without protection," Kashitarou said solemnly. "Soraru-san, even if it isn't for me, I really hope you would hire him," Soraru could hear how distressed Kashitarou sounded when he pleaded him, this time not for his own good or was it because Mafu was Amatsuki's friend, but it was for Mafu himself.
He could not possibly watch and let this Omega die alone in his room if he had the power to help.
"I'll hire them," Soraru sighed, still refusing to let go of Mafu's . "But it's still significant to go through the appropriate process so could you ask them to come over for an interview tomorrow?"
"Are you going to be the one interviewing?" Kashitarou sat up in his seat, reaching out for Amatsuki's resume, flipping it through.
"Of course not," Soraru said, sounding a little disappointed, actually. He wanted to talk to this Mafumafu Omega but sadly, there was a meeting he needed to attend to in the morning. "I can have you interviewing them but I need you to not be bias. Can you do that for me?"

The next day, it was in the evening when Soraru got back to his small apartment room. He may be a CEO of a company, but it didn't mean that he needed to spend the money to live in a spacious suite at a residential hotel. Just when he was about to turn the lock open, his phone started ringing and he quickly picked it up to avoid disturbing his neighbours.
"It's me,"
"Ah, Soraru-san!" a cheerful voice came blasting from his phone. Soraru couldn't help but click his tongue at the man over the phone. "I've done the interview with them and they'll be working at the same department as I starting from tomorrow!"
"Kashitarou... I know, I was the one who told you to do so," Soraru sighed. Kashitarou tends to forget what he says when he thinks about Amatsuki.
"Ahhhh! Thank you so much, Soraru-san! Love you!" and then the call was ended by Kashitarou.
Soraru put his phone back into his pocket and opened the door. "Who wants to be loved by you?" he grumbled under his breath. He wanted an Omega but he couldn't. Everyone around him just weren't trustworthy enough for him to start a relationship with. Being someone of higher ranks in both the society and at work isn't really much of a good thing.
He heard sounds of people laughing outside his door when he was trying to take his shoes and tie off at the same time. One had a boyish laugh and the other sounded feminine.
"Let's celebrate now that we got ourselves a job!" said the person with the boyish laugh.
"I don't really know how to thank you, so let me buy you beer!"
Hmm? Now that Soraru listened to it properly, the one who sounded feminine actually had a hint of masculine in it. Having two Omegas in this apartment building? Wouldn't this be too dangerous for the both of them?
"Hurry and go turn the heater on, he's waiting for us at the restaurant!"
"Yeah, give me a second... Okay! It wouldn't be too cold when I come home later! Let's go!"
Then it was silent after that. Soraru felt bad for eavesdropping but it couldn't be helped since they were rather loud.
Still, that Mafumafu had been bugging him since yesterday after he saw that picture of him in his resume. Frankly speaking, he never thought he would be this interested in an Omega after so many years. Soraru wanted to see him in person. He wanted to talk to him, get to know him, and possibly be friends with him like how Kashitarou did.
He let out a heavy sigh, telling himself to not think about him, that he was just an employee in his company and that was all to it. Soraru grabbed his bath towel and went for a quick shower.

That one time when Kashitarou managed to get the company high profits, everyone went out for a drink as the chief of the department said he would pay for all the drinks. Soraru was invited by Kashitarou, he told him he would be there but wouldn't make an entrance to catch everyone's eyes away from Kashitarou. Of course, it was but a joke. And only Kashitarou would laugh at them.
He wore a dark coloured hoodie that was one size bigger than him, and a pair of sweatpants he would usually wear at home. Not many in the company knows how the CEO looks like, all because Soraru never goes to any parties the company held. It was a different case if the meeting was held at a different state or country, since no one but the other entrepreneurs would know him.
When Soraru reached the bar, he casually stood at the corner of the room and grabbed a drink from the tray when a waiter passed by. Kashitarou seemed to have noticed his presence and gave him a smile which Soraru cocked a brow at as a response. Everyone was happy, having drinking a lot, dancing on the dance floor, or flirting with some other colleagues or random people.
But the one thing that was an eyesore to him was the chief of the department trying to harass one of his underlings. That employee was rather tiny and fragile, looking as if it would break even if it was just a feather light touch from him. Soraru felt anger boiling in him, basically glaring at the garbage Alpha who didn't deserve the position in both society and work. He noted to himself that he would fire him after he used up all his money at the bar. He needed to tell Kashitarou to make everyone get something expensive.
It was not really the time though. The Omega beside that piece of garbage was forced to drink a shot of vodka, a strong one too. With only one sip, Soraru could see that he was already drowsy. He pushed himself off the wall and walked towards them, snatching the cup from the Omega' hands and quickly retreated before anyone recognizes him.
So when Soraru met Mafumafu at the flower shop, he honestly thought that it was just a coincidence. He didn't have the dark hair he had nor did his eyes shone so bright and energetically back then. Soraru thought that the name 'Mafumafu' and 'Amatsuki' was a common name among people (He never met Amatsuki in person until he met Mafu because Kashitarou said that he was worried if Soraru would fall for him, which of course, Soraru wanted to punch him in the guts for). It just so happened that he sounded like his neighbour.
But when Soraru knew that night that he was the Mafumafu who registered as an employee in his company, Soraru was mad at himself.
He regretted it.
Soraru could have saved him.
He honestly thought that he was safe after he downed the vodka.
He could have helped prevented that from happening if he didn't care about his identity being revealed.
"Soraru-san?"
Soraru flinched, tightening his arms around the person beside him, spooning him against him. He felt a hand on his face, caressing his cheek gently. He opened his eyes slowly, waking up from a bad dream.
"You seemed like you were having a nightmare, so I thought I should wake you up..." Mafu said. He tried to turn his body to Soraru but Soraru wouldn't let him. He didn't want Mafu to see him when he was weakened. He would only end up worrying Mafu. "I'm sorry,"
"... No," Soraru took in a deep breath, letting Mafu's scent calm his senses down. "Thank you," he was genuinely grateful that Mafu brought him back to reality. It was starting to get suffocating as he thought about it.
"Are you okay?"
Soraru thought for a while before he shook his head, deciding to be honest.
"I could have saved you back then,"
"Hmm?" Mafu made a sound, finally managed to turn around to look at Soraru.
"Don't move like that, you do realize that your body's not holding one but two lives that I hold dearly,"
"He wouldn't mind me shifting my body towards you because he knows you wouldn't let anything happen to the both of us," Mafu giggled at Soraru for being all anxious about him. "But Soraru-san, everything in the past was not your fault,"
"Mafu..." Soraru tried to say something back at him but Mafu dropped a kiss on his lips. Soraru bit Mafu's lips back lightly in return for doing something to him when he put his guard down. He pulled back, wanting to finish his sentence. "Still, I could have done something,"
"Soraru-san," Mafu said in a stern voice. "I had nothing with me in life but then you came and showed me love. You gave me so much to the point I have no idea how to repay you for them,"
Soraru didn't remember giving Mafu a lot of things other than their engagement ring, wedding ring, and food. He could not even begin telling Mafu that all he did was not enough comparing to the incident back then.
Mafu who seemed to have read his mind, began to talk again.
"You taught me how to love, to care. You showed me jealousy in love. You gave me light, warmth, happiness," Mafu lowered his gaze, his hand was over the slight but visible bump on his abdomen, stroking it as he said, "You gave me him,"
"Soraru-san, you gave me everything," Mafu looked back up at him, smiling. "If it weren't for you, nothing would begin for me in life. So if it meant to be able to know you, these scars are nothing to me,"
When they first saw each other.
When they first met and interacted with each other.
When they first shared a kiss.
When they first moved into a house together.
When they first greeted each other 'Have a safe trip' when leaving the house and 'Welcome home' when either of them came back.
All of these moments were times Soraru cherished the most. And Mafu's words made his day. He felt as if he could get a good night's sleep tonight.
"Thank you, Mafu,"
"No, thank you, Soraru-san,"
"Are you trying to argue with me?"
Mafu gasped. "I wouldn't,"
Soraru leaned in, trying to land a kiss on Mafu as the latter tried to dodge every single one of it but failed miserably.
"... I honestly don't think I'm ready to share you with him," Soraru sighed, hugging Mafu closer.
"I'm sure you are,"
"... No," Soraru pouted as Mafu pinched his cheeks.
"It was only our fifth time after the first and we hit jackpot, how unlucky was that?" Well, to be fair, each time they did it, they go for it for a few hours. Soraru had to say that he was one to be blamed.
Mafu smacked him on the chest, putting a finger over his lips. "Shh! He can hear you...!" Soraru loved it when Mafu blushes. His pure, white skin only stood out even more under the tint of red on his cheeks.
"He should know that Papa's not ready to share Mama," Soraru whispered loudly. "But I'm happy that he's with us," And yes, it was a 'he'. Soraru hoped that he wouldn't fight for Mafu with him. They had not thought of a name for him yet but Soraru was sure he would get a beautiful name like Mafu's when he managed to think of one.
"Idiot..." Soraru planted a kiss on the Mafu's head, petting him like how he likes to. Mafu touched his stomach again. "Me too,"
Soraru was glad he met Mafu.

I do realise that there were holes in the plot, and tried to fill as many of it as I can in this chapter, in hope that all of you can get the idea of what actually happened (Yes, I made the past Mafu have dark hair, I love him in dark hair).
