I leave these here to explain some of the covers in the last part of Terrible Writing Advice. Granted, not all of the covers had fully fleshed out plans, like Fairy Tail for example. The opposite is also true, with a lot of plans not receiving a cover yet. For everyone's enjoyment, I'll leave behind the covers as well. Still, if these are of some help for anyone, to learn from them or give them a starting point in writing themselves, you're welcome!

Infinite Stratos

Name: Damian Wryn

Nationality: Half Floridian (father born in Florida), Half Romanian (Mother born in Vaslui)

Age: 20

Lore: Damian is the second son of the Wryn family, with his big sister being the heiress of the family business of Wryn industries, perhaps the largest IS manufacturer in the states at this point in time. However, Damian isn't that thrilled with the idea of working under his sister, mainly due to his perhaps biased opinion towards IS units altogether, all due to Shinonono Tabane, the inventor. The 2 are somewhat rivals, at least in Damian's eyes as he always fell short in comparison to her, the IS becoming a thing further making his inferiority apparent. The boy is smart in his own right and were it not for Tabane setting the bar so high, he could have been called a genius by all means. Furthermore, Tabane's childish yet manipulative personality didn't help their relationship at all. With all that, he still managed to somehow put up with her due to his girlfriend at the time, Chifuyu Orimura, the 2 of them being friends. However, both relationships fell out later on after Ichika's kidnapping, Chifuyu going missing, Tabane disappearing for a while and Damian left in a mild depression as his lover wouldn't answer him anymore. To cope with it, he buried himself in work for the Wryn industries, studying anything there's to know about the IS, the hate he felt being a motivation for him, which is ironic but proved effective. It was the most worrying period of time for his parents and his big sister, Wanda, who later on 'fired' him, giving the starting resources to build his own business, as an alternative motivation. Whether that worked or not, it's still up in the air, but it's important to note a faceless personality started making its appearance in the world, going by Mr.Hyde. In truth, it was Damian's attempt at finding what makes the world tick without losing his privacy in society and gaining celebrity status. That's one thing he wasn't jealous of Tabane. What does Hyde embody? For the most part, it started off as security manufacturing, upgrading already existing systems in ways not thought to be possible, ending up receiving requests from countries for visits and later on services. Obviously, his face was covered by a mask at all times, Wanda being the only person to know his identity so far, her also being the first 'customer', seeing potential in her brother's ideas besides the IS world bubble. Throughout these requests he met who would become his appointed bodyguard and best friend later on, as well as finding traces regarding Chifuyu's whereabouts. Fast forward into the near future, around the time Chifuyu becomes a teacher at the IS academy in Japan, the school is in need of technical and security personal, Damian and Serafin Sokolski being scouted. Or rather, their day to day identities being scouted. Of course, both Tabane and Chifuyu found out who Mr.Hyde was prior to this scouting and that was exactly the reason for it. His ex-lover effectively proposed him to the headmaster. Funny enough, he only accepted only after a 3rd invitation in the form of a call from Chifuyu, his reason for going there being more to get explanations than actually work. Let's just say he might not found the obligatory 1-year service he was forced into that satisfactory.

Serafin Sokolski

Initially, he was part of the same soldier program as Laura, in Germany, him being of actual Polish descent, being one of the few subjects that were actually adopted rather than conceived in a test tube. Of course, with the introduction of IS in the military, the boys of the program were discarded, as they had no aptitude to pilot the mechs. As such, Serafin was returned to Poland from where his life spiraled into working from a simply military sergeant to working for the special security services to even being the president's bodyguard. All of these required strict discipline, something he was getting tired of after the german special soldier program. In other words, being exposed to the world outside of that program made him want to make his own decisions. When he told the president he wanted to retire, even tho he wasn't in his twenties yet, he allowed it, while behind the shadows the special services were getting ready to eliminate him as he was in possession of national secrets that could not be allowed to be known by someone no longer working for their government. With all that in mind, Sokolski ended up making quick work of the squad dispatched, sending a single surviving member back to the president with his tongue cut and with a message carved into his forehead with a knife: Mam dość / I quit (Hopefully I got this right.). He became a gun for hire, sort of, and the same process of quitting repeated a few times when other countries didn't really understand that he wasn't looking for a fulltime job. His end almost came at the hands of Phantom Task was it not for his future employer, Damian Wryn actively saving his life with one of the experimental weapons he worked on. Yes, he put his time and effort into making anti-IS arsenal, cause he was quite skeptical of the 'All-powerful' nature the world seems to think they possess. Aside from Tabane, he is the only one who managed to create a weapon that exploits and later on destroys the IS core, something more important later on. He was actually hired by Tabane herself at the time to 'protect her from Phantom Task, a terrorist organization obsessed with the idea of the perfect human, when in fact she's the one who faked the whole attempt at kidnapping her to get Serafin to meet Damian, effectively forging the path for their cooperation and friendship. Back to the mercenary, he was in a critical state when he was found and spent a whole month under Damian's roof while recovering. At first, he was opposed to the idea of being employed full time, but got to see more of Wryn's Hyde side figuring the 2 are somewhat similar but of opposite polarities. By that I mean that Serafin adopted his nickname as Dr.Jekyll, as an employee, to compliment Damian's which makes their existence an interesting dynamic:

For Serafin, Jekyll is his social and 'normal' persona, so he can blend in with society, but it ultimately his fake personality.

For Damian, Hyde is his secret identity and his ticket at getting to know the underground of the society he lives in, but it's ultimately just a font, Damian Wryn being his true self through and through.

Note: The one thing these 2 don't get along is, surprise surprise, related to Tabane. As it's later revealed that she orchestrated Serafin's near death, he's actually thrilled that someone almost managed to kill him while keeping her hands clean, which just furthered his feelings for her, something Damian doesn't get.

Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde

It should be obvious by now that Serafin does most of the fighting for any situation these 2 are involved in, but most of the equipment is made by Damian, so one is the brain, the other is the brawn. Not to say that Serafin is a complete idiot or that Damian is absolutely defenseless, but they each excel in different domains. Although, Serafin is actually missing a few screws in there, his removal off the german program being considered before IS were even introduced, for mental instability. And another thing, while he has the hots for Tabane, he himself doesn't really like the IS because they're the reason him and other boys were abandoned by the one home they knew. Granted the regiment was tough, but it was something. Among the projects they worked on, there are the following:

The future black ops:

This is a suit made by Damian with the intention to withstand a plethora of physical or energetic attacks. From bullets and lazers all the way to 1km freefall. The only thing left to test is its resistance against tactical nukes or IS units, but they'll get there. Granted, this is a last resort suit for Serafin and was used by him only in extreme situations such as Damian being kidnapped by Phantom Task to get out of him his files for armament upgrade and especially manual IS upgrading, something he perfected doing at the IS academy. The results of all this? A whole HQ of the terrorist organisation being mowed to the ground by a single guy, the world finding out the real identities of these, finally uncovering who Lisowczycy was, the name Serafin's mercenary persona adopted. On top of that, the world as well as Tabane got to see Damian's IS killer in action, making him one of the most seeked out people in the world in just one night. Oh, right. He also lost and arm and a leg supporting torture at the hands of Phantom Task.

The Dominator:

Perhaps the only weapon Damian carried on him at all times. Shaped like a gun, its use is for either apprehending or straight up destroying a desired target, be it human or machine, although it only works temporarily on IS in this stage. It's more or less an EMP with the function to target specific things or a regular energy gun for living tissues. This is the prototype to the IS killer, but was desired nonetheless by the world's governments after the truth was revealed.

Aftermath:

With the duo in international view, many were quick to call Damian Wryn to answer for potential danger to international security that his IS-killer poses. In truth, the governments were paranoid of other countries getting their hands on such a weapons which can render what was thought to be the pinnacle of military as useless. Some people even tried to get him to work for their countries through underhanded measures, but all attempts were stopped as Serafin presented himself in front of the united nations, sending a subtle message of: I know your secrets, you don't know my ways. In other words, if anyone tried to get to Damian, they would either get a visit from Serafin in his Black Ops suit or worse, have their country's national secrets revealed to the public.

On the other side of the spectrum, the Wryn family was devastated to see their son in such a pitiful state, missing his right arm and left leg. Good thing he was still conscious. Unfortunately, regrowing limbs isn't exactly an option. But that wasn't on the boy's mind. To satisfy the masses, he revealed very fragmented information regarding the Dominator and IS killer, all while disassembling the only operative unit so that only he can remake it if he deems it necessary. On the flip side, his missing limbs were replaced by mechanic one and his spine got some screws into it, literally. In simpler terms, the dominator was infused with Damian's biological body, making him something akin to a living EMP. This was all an operation done by Damian himself, all while his sister, Chifuyu and Tabane watched from behind a glass wall. Only Serafin was allowed to remain inside the room, possibly to keep the patient occupied by having chat. From this point forward, Damian Wryn is a quarter machine, making him a danger for anything hackable. Granted, the world doesn't really know this for now. (Yes, somewhat of a male Sombra.)

Relationships:

Wanda Wryn: She is Damian's older sister, being 26 years old. Honestly, she's not a big fan of inheriting the family business and doesn't think she's really fit to run the company, but took the bullet seeing as Damian was even less cooperative about it. In truth, she knows both Tabane and Chifuyu, although doesn't really like either of them. One for leaving his brother without a word, the other for continually riling him up and provoking him. That's mostly the reason she was against Damian going to Japan, as it meant reuniting with the 2 women, but it was not her decision to make. She's not overprotective, but finds the whole Mr.Hyde business to be dangerous for his little brother so she kept a close eye on it and even more so when Serafin came along for the ride. Their relationship started off a bit rocky, but solved itself gradually. Eventually she left her brother in Serafin's case, after it became apparent that they're more than just employee and employer, but actually friends. In a way, she gained a second brother. Needless to say, she was devastated to find Damian in his sorrow state after his kidnapping and was very scared to look at his operation of turning into a quarter machine. Though, the moment served as a good opportunity for her to speak her mind to the 2 women that turned Damian's life upside down. While she's aware of the status and identity the 2 have, that didn't stop her from admitting she will drag you through the deepest layers of hell if you cause my brother more harm than you already did. Yeah...better not tell her Tabane is the reason Serafin joined the family.

Tabane and Chifuyu: Skipping over the past relationship as you already know it, after Damian and Serafin have come to Japan, the reconnection started off rocky already. While Serafin didn't know Chifuyu all that much, Damian was very angry with her and throughout the year he had to work at the academy, he's been the one to constantly open the topic while the women tried as much as possible to avoid it. Not to say she wasn't feeling guilty, but it wasn't really in her nature to open up about it, which only grinded Damian's gears more. Both candidates passed the admission tests to work at the academy, especially the polish man, who was given clear instructions to 'not kill them'. While there are quite a few man in the academy, they're either inside security, where IS can't operate or technical stuff, be it IS maintenance or just overall facility maintenance. So, in a way, Ichika's dilemma was about being the only teenage boy in a school full of teenage girls. Therefore he often seeked to spend time with the male stuff. Over the year, Chifuyu and Damian's relationship improved even though it never went back to being lovers, at least not in the 1st year, as the guilt seemed to loom over Chifuyu, even if she wasn't really showing it. As for Serafin, he was interested in seeing the pair and their interactions, but didn't really care for their romantic life. That's until Tabane made an appearance, around the time Houki got her personal IS. From there on, he was seen spending a lot of time with the childish woman and even took her part in certain feuds she had with his friend, but nothing too major to last. It's important to note that while he may be infatuated with the woman, he clearly sees when she's pushing the boundaries. For example, one of the experiments was to see just how far could she take it with Serafin choosing her over Damian, which inevitably came to the question of Why don't you work for me? Forever. Well, let's just say Serafin's palm was clearly imprinted on Tabane's cheek. Effectively, it is a response she did not expect. Yelling was within calculation, violence was not. It is for this reason that Tabane, for the first time, conceded. In her words: You win this time, Damian. Overwhelmingly so. It's the 1st out of 2 occasions, the second one being with the uncovering of the IS-killer, at which point she admitted and acknowledged the man as her rival, the feeling finally being mutual.

Notes about the school: Only a handful of male staff members actually live on campus, and those are mostly technical engineers working on and maintaining personal IS units of other students. And I say mostly because there are a few cases, like teachers. Technically, Damian has been hired as a teacher who does technical maintenance on the sidelines. Therefore he requested a second bed in his designated room for his bodyguard, or rather security officer at the academy. They mostly deal with unwanted guests like the media, or companies that would try to realize their personal interests by exploiting the school, something relevant later on.

Ichika: The relationship with him is purely platonic friendship, although sometimes the duo finds him completely idiotic. Damian doesn't involve him in his beef with Chifuyu while Serafin learns a bit more about a 'normal' life, as someone who wasn't involved with the IS and this side of the world for most of his life. Sometimes, Ichika hides in their room to avoid the girls of the academy, which is most of the time, so he can relax among men. And on that note, he has actually reached out to Damian when it came to assist Kanzashi in building her own IS. It is perhaps the only IS Damian actually agreed to help on making and that's purely as a favor in good will to his ex's little brother. Tho Tatenashi appreciated it quite a bit.

Tatenashi and Kanzashi: The 2 sisters came in contact with Damian only later on into the year, or at least in a meaningful way. Tatenashi, being the student council president, got to interact with Damian more as a teacher, but outside of school topics, there were no noticeable conversations. Around the time she started going for Ichika in the hopes of him helping her sister out, that's where the boy brought her to Damian and explained the relation between the 2. As a favor to Ichika, he agreed to help, but making the point that Kanzashi should be in on this and that it's not his deal to convince her to accept. In other words, Ichika, go and bring her on board. While he was busy doing that, Tatenashi hanged around more often in the labs and got to witness some of Damian's projects, most notable The Dominator. Granted, the man didn't give many details regarding his personal works, but catched the curiosity of the girl nonetheless. With Kanzashi, she had the respectable attitude towards a teacher right from the get go and was somewhat nervous to hear Damian getting involved in her project. But seeing Ichika and Damian act all familiar with one another helped her break out of her shell more, ultimately managing to converse freely with the man. In Serafin's case, he mostly interacted with the 2 when it came to localising where was Damian taken by Phantom Task and the usual banters with Tatenashi as a president as opposed to student. Needless to say, once their identities got exposed, the whole Sarashiki family had it in their interest to ensure the survival of these 2, considering both as key people in getting rid of Phantom Task once and for all.

Houki: Right off the bat, Serafin has been friendlier with Houki than his friend and that's mostly due to her being Tabane's sister. As such, our mercenary took the opportunity to find out more about his woman of interest, tho realizing in the mean time to be subtle on the subject with the girl, as she didn't enjoy talking about her sister that much. Damian, on the other hand, tried as much as possible to not let his opinions of Tabane cloud his judgement when it comes to Houki. After all, she had no fault in their beef. Fortunately, after both confessed that they despise Tabane's guts, their relationship improved significantly. Were it not for Tabane giving Houki a personal IS, she would have asked Damian to help her with it. Whether he would have accepted is unknown, but he does suspect that Tabane's gift came because she didn't want to admit defeat to Damian in something involving her little sister. Guess she has her pride as a family member somewhere. Overall, both men support her in her quest to win over Ichika and she greatly appreciates it. Even complains to them sometimes about her failed attempts, as if they were counselors for students. One thing she's happy about is that they remove the competition to a degree.

Lingyin: She started off by complaining to Damian that it's unfair of him to openly support Houki in the competition to Ichika. And for him, to hear a kid he never met complain about his actions feels like a chore, so she got kicked out of the lab first occasion there was. Serafin was usually keeping an eye on her to prevent her from going out of control, as she had a habit of taking out her IS everytime things didn't go her way, which slowly angered Serafin more and more. Eventually, he snapped once and told her to FUCK OFF which landed him a 1 week suspension from his job. But she didn't get out scott free and had to assist him for a full week following his return. In the meantime, she apologized to Damian at Ichika's request as he didn't want to be any alienation between the 2. That and the fact that Lin wanted her IS inspected by the same guy who did Cecilia's so that she won't fall short to her. Of course, this was met with some protest from China's designated engineer and well as England's, but taking a page out of Serafin's book, he sent the 2 of them to management with a middle finger. Might be petty, but Damian acknowledges only Tabane as someone who can go around mocking his work, and that's cause she's above his level so far. Overall, Lin's relationship is best described as I'll behave so help me once in a while. However she still curses under her breath that Damian refuses to hook her up with Ichika.

Laura: Laura coming to the school gave Serafin mixed feelings. On one hand, he was happy he sees old acquaintances again. On the other, he's reminded of how he left the program or rather, got kicked out. Obviously, they recognized each other instantly, and that posed a bit of a problem for Serafin as he was undercover. Reporting back, Laura's orders were to immediately apprehend Serafin and return him to Germany, supposedly to be judged. However, Damian got wind of it and intercepted their calls. Although he revealed to Germany about his secret identity, he managed to get them off Sokolski's case, actively helping his friend. Of course, he made sure Germany would not spread the news around and Chifuyu might have helped with this, unknowing to him. That being said, Laura was intrigued by the amount of influence the man had and even marked him as a potential target to bring to Germany in order to get Chifuyu to follow. Before this peace tho, her IS got a bit of treatment from Damian's Dominator, which stopped her from going against Cecilia and Lin. It was the first demonstration of his arsenal on campus, something both students and the staff took notice of. With Sokolski, they were at the beginning of a journey. Laura would tell him how the rest of the group is doing back home while he would tell her about what went down after he and the boys left. They got along for the most part, which ensured that Serafin's secret was safe with Laura. To be noted that Serafin doesn't really approve of Laura's advances toward Ichika and that's not because of jealousy or anything, but simply because there's bigger chances of death rolling in on a bike than your relationship reaching success. She thought she was taken lightly when it comes to romance. In truth, he meant that for anyone trying really. That's not to say that over time her target didn't change, but that's a matter for another time. At the very least, she'd have more chances with plan B than plan A.

Charlotte: Arguably, the most down-to-earth of the bunch is this french girl...that came in as a french guy. Right of the bat, Ichika took her around to finally show the male staff that he isn't alone anymore, which earned quite a few laughs of pity. However, for one of them, the name Dunois was nothing new. In fact, Damian was contacted before by the Dunois Industry CEO to get his help in developing 3rd generation IS. Of course, being who he is, Damian refused which left the CEO no choice but to mask his illegitimate daughter as a man and gain some traction as the 'second male to pilot an IS'. Except there was one problem, Damian was sure there was no Charles Dunois in the family. He didn't confront the girl undercover right of the batt, but chose to see how the situation might unfold, all while telling his partner the specifics. Serafin discretely got to hear her story while she was telling Ichika about it and then recalled everything to Wryn. To say he was pleased was not quite right. I'll let you guess why the head of Dunois industry was told to get over here by the headmaster. Let's just say he had a good 1 hour talk with Damian, all while Serafin was guarding the door so he won't get ideas. Him or his associates. Either way, Charlotte's father got out of there knowing 2 things. Firstly, that he had no secrets to hide, not with Wryn and Sokolski cooperating. And secondly, that his plan failed the moment his daughter was introduced to Damian. Of course, this conversation went incognito, but that didn't really work out when, while leaving, the CEO told his daughter he no longer needs to do what he asked. Bastard said to direct the questions to the teacher. And it didn't take much time to figure out which teacher she should ask for. All in all, she came the next day with her real identity out and with a new found trust in someone. She later on asked of him to be her personal engineer, which sparked a conflict with another person asking for the same thing, but that was unavoidable. Let's just say that Houki can be happy she got rid of a future problem. That being said, she'd still need to wait until her third year at least. To be noted she insisted in helping rescuing Damian from Phantom Task but was shut down along with Cecilia, as this was my and Damian's business according to Sokolski. That didn't stop her from visiting as soon as he was retrieved, granted the image she saw was more than disturbing.

Cecilia: Finally, Cecilia Alcott, probably the first one to ask Damian to be her personal engineer and the one to cause the most tantrums when others requested the same. On top of that, her assigned engineer would constantly nag Damian that he'd be the reason he'd end up jobless. That and the fact that he might have a thing for the blonde, maybe. In any case, Cecilia took notice of Damian after her duel with Ichika when she went to visit him and instead saw the boy getting scolded by Damian about his incompetence. Through later talks about it with Ichika, she got to know the relationship between him and one of their teachers. That's when he was suggested to take a look at her unit. That did happen, but under the 'supervision' of her already existing engineer till he ultimately got on Damian's nerves and earned him an: Mars in mortii tai afara! (Get the fuck out) Of course, no one really understood what was said, but at least made the bastard go quiet. After this test and her feeling a significant improvement in response time and maneuvering, she visited the labs more often till she eventually asked him if he would accept to work for her even after graduation. He didn't really give an answer as he didn't really plan to stick around after the 1st year was done, but it was too late to feign ignorance to the girl's visits at this point. She's certainly the most aggressive one when it come to pursuing the man to help her out. At one point, she was even questioned by Lin if she was still going after Ichika, to which she actually avoided responding. That means the answer is still up in the air, but it's certain it would make Lin's day for one of her rivals to go another route. Following Damian's kidnapping and his secret identity coming to light, she puzzled together why he didn't accept her proposal right away and even though there's nothing in it for him. So this went from wanting him a an employee to simply wanting him. Are we getting another 100 years war between England and France? Yes? No? Yet to be seen, but it's quite possible another teacher might not really agree with this arrangement.

Regardless of his end choice that remains to be seen, it's obvious what his immediate answer would be, right?

"Wait till you're 18 at least, for the love of god!"

Rosario + Vampire

Name: Yoshikage Ren

Age: 17 (starts as second year)

Lore: Ren is a child who grew all his life in orphanages, 2 to be exact, with the difference that the first one wasn't exactly an ideal place for children. If the monsters had the 3 dark lords as protectors, then humanity had its own organization to maintain a balance. The first orphanage was, in fact, a research facility for a stray branch of the Cerberus organization, a branch that wanted to expand on the idea of super soldiers or rather man-made monsters. In other words, something to make up for the lack of potential in using Youjutsu (Magic). Ren was among the children that were used as lab rats, children grown in tubes rather than being given birth, that way there is no one to look for them. Long story short, that branch was completely annihilated by the 3 heads of Cerberus (the 3 main leaders) and all the children were put in special care, to monitor any anomalies following the mutations. Ren, in particular, is pretty outgoing, very little interest to misbehave (unless he no longer sees a way out). On the flip side, while it's hard to piss him off, once he had enough, there's a spike in cruelty, since, in his eyes, you asked so you'll receive. The reason he's so well-behaved is to provide a good role model for the younger kids, as they all share, to some extent, the same burden. Reaching high school age, Ren and his sibling Ken made a deal with their mother-figure, attending the first year at a human school, the second at Yokai Academy, and the final one wherever they choose. Ironically, in the human world, Ren had peace and quiet, but a constant need to let out some steam once in a while. At Yokai academy, he did not like the teachers and students that much as they were always causing troubles, but he could be freer. All in all, there's something he hated and loves in both cases. To be noted that even during his second year, he openly admits to having grown up with humans and deliberately assaulted anyone who mocked it. For him, his mother figure is the most important person on earth.

As a man-made monster, there's no species to speak of. While it's true some children have been infused with genes from regular monsters, Ren was a mechanical one. In other words, he's been biologically fused with a chainsaw and therefore gave birth to a Chainsaw Devil (the name given by the researchers), with the prime goal of being a slaughter machine that can heal by 'drinking' blood even through the chains. Ren can produce chainsaws from his head, arms, and legs that cut through pretty much anything. They can be broken off, but grow back if enough blood is consumed. Eventually, Ren learns to take off the chains and just spin the saws for a non-lethal mode of combat or utilize only the chains to grapple around, climb, or apprehend. The vile-looking monster form opposed to the gentle human form makes for a very surprised and scared first impression from a lot of Yokai students, like Kurumu, Mizore but most importantly Moka (both of them). While he doesn't possess Youjutsu potential or superhuman speed, the sheer durability makes him very, VERY hard to even knock unconscious, let alone kill. Point is proven when he took multiple kicks from Inner Moka and shrugged them off. On top of that, an advantage is that the chainsaws spin even if Ren is immobilized, tying him up in anything being useless. Speaking of Moka, he despises the phrase Know your place, making memories about his very early childhood resurface, and not pretty ones.

Name: Yoshikage Ken

Age: 17 (same as Ren)

Lore: Ken is Ren's closest brother, sometimes the 2 being mistaken for twins even. Naturally, like all the other siblings, he's also a man made devil. Unlike Ren, however, he's much more inclined to misbehave and get in trouble, for example working part-time during his first year of high school, even if the school didn't allow it, just, so he can afford things without relying on their mother. Misbehaving with a good reason is still misbehaving. However, he's a lot more patient when it comes to people's emotions, which is why he got along better with Kurumu compared to his brother. He shares Ren's opinion regarding human and monster school and as such have a hard time deciding where their third year should be. Interestingly enough, Ken doesn't really care for Moka's catchphrase, but is the fastest at resorting to violence whenever he hears threats against humans, partially due to their mother's father, sort of grandfather figure. As you'd imagine, a lot of time he'd be at odds with people like the student police. If Ren is good at attracting attention, Ken is the opposite, being very good at sneaking out or into places for whatever purposes. Even as a child he would sometimes sneak out of the research facility to see what's outside. Of course, he received harsh physical punishment, but to him, it was worth it. Besides, he's pretty durable. Not as much as his brother, but enough to shrug it off.

Ken is also a mechanical man made devil, his fusion being with a blade, more or less similar to a katana. Blades would protrude out of his arms, head, and knees, being extremely sharp and deadly. The overall intention in creating the Katana Devil (the name given by the researchers) was for quick and precise eliminations, or better-said assassinations. In terms of speed, he's well above Ren and his precision and accuracy is off the charts, even with throwing projectiles. Further down the line, he manages to produce smaller blades that shoot out from his knuckles, as if they were throwing knives. In fact, those stats mentioned above managed to keep him on his feet even against Shuzen Akua, the eldest sister of the Shuzen vampire sisters. In the same manner as Ren, the blades can be broken off, but regrow and sharpen when coming in contact with blood. In fact, the sharpness of the blades is decided by Ken himself, managing to turn them blunt if he so desires for apprehending tasks instead of elimination ones. The handle that sticks out the back of his head gives the impression you can take out the blade, something untrue, but that didn't stop Yukari from trying, which to some extent annoyed the man, since it hurts. Important notice is that both Ren and Ken emit some quantity of human smell even with the mutations. Not as much as a pure-blooded one, but enough to raise suspicion

Family

Felicia West: She is the mother figure of all the children put under special care, a nun. She, of course, isn't the only one running the orphanage, but it is the main administrator of it. Although just a human, she is very caring for the unfortunate children and even extends the hands of help to normal monsters as well from time to time. For example, she's taken care of, for a while, of Ruby after the incident at Witch's hill and lets Tsukune and the gang sleep at her place for a night, before returning to the academy. No one really realized that she was the mother of Ren and Ken at that point. Only later on when she visits the 2 during the school festival that it is revealed. There's no doubt that she has no special powers or abilities and simply lives to care for others, but that doesn't mean she finds some monsters terrifying. Case and point, she avoided at first Mizore's and Kurumu's mothers for the fact they seemed quite hostile. As for how a human simply walked in and no one reacted to the smell, let's just say they did notice it, but she didn't come alone. She's been questioned by inner Moka at one point about her willingness to raise monsters, at which point she was corrected that: They're not monsters. They're my children.

Juzo Inui: Juzo was a member of the stray research branch and indirectly helped in creating these man made monsters. He's also the one who reported everything to the 3 heads of Cerberus, willing to accept any punishment fitting. In fact, he was told death is not even an option for toying with the lives of kids and he agreed. Furthermore, he insisted on having the same biological procedure be done to him, as his way to repent in front of the children. If they'll have to live monstrous lives, then so will I. Since in his case the procedure was done as an adult, he's constantly taking meds to prevent further side effects, often referring to his transformation as incomplete. For that reason, Ren and Ken often told Juzo that he didn't need to follow along with becoming a monster, but he acknowledges that if he didn't do this, he might have committed suicide out of guilt. Juzo also harbors romantic feelings for Felicia and is the one who guards her whenever she visits Yokai Academy. At the same time, after his transformation, Juzo was enlisted as the first and only disciple of one of the 3 heads, the one in charge of the main attack force, which in turn gave him a reputation fitting for that position. In truth, he was taken to be trained by Felicia's father as part of his punishment would be to take care and protect the children he helped in 'creating'. As for the transformation itself, Juzo was fuzed with a gun, becoming the Gun Devil. His whole head becomes a hand canon and on the back of his hands, he has 2 revolver chambers. Those chambers can be filled with compressed air and depending on how compressed it is, a punch from Juzo can be akin to a wall of air pushing you backward or a lance that rips right through you. But the headcanon is by far the most destructive part of him, as it is said anyone who stares him in the 'eye' no longer has a head, since you're basically looking down a loaded gun's barrel. He's on a first-name basis with Ren and Ken, similar to brothers.

Cerberus

Cerberus is an organization that's meant to preserve the status quo, this feeble balance between monsters and humans, which means Fairy Tale is a direct enemy of them. Of course, Cerberus is a nongovernmental organization, one that doesn't exist on paper and responds to no country. Its origins are in the West (North America and Europe), but around 30 or so years ago the heads have moved towards Asia as things started becoming a bit too rowdy for comfort. The 'heads' are 3 people that run the entire organization, each ruling over a branch of it. (There used to be an honorary head that took care of the research, but has been executed along with his branch being destroyed. Now research is supervised by all 3 current heads.) The 3 main parts are the main Assault branch (takes care of direct and open conflicts), the Demolition/Slaughter branch (steps in when creatures of immense proportions are involved or the number of enemies is too much for a single branch to handle) and the Execution/Assassination branch (takes care of deserters, criminals and overall stealthy missions). To be noted: Cerberus agents are NOT monster hunters. Protecting a balance means getting rid of anyone interfering, regardless of which side they're on. That's what they have done ever since medieval times and will continue to do so.

B.O.B (Demolition/Slaughter): He's the current head of the Demolition and Slaughter branch, at the age of 75 years old, having more than 50 years in the business. Everyone refers to him as Bob, although that is not his real name. It's a nickname he received back when he was operating in North America, as he alone stood against 808 wendigos and won, only losing an arm. Since '8' is somewhat similar looking to 'B', 808 became his code and his new identity, BOB, and granted him the succession as one of the 3 heads. Moving on, he's a personality always ready for a brawl and likes to bulldoze his way through things, since he obviously can. Obviously, his physical strength is pretty impressive, some Cerberus doctors estimating him being able to wrestle an Ogre or Troll. However, he's not all brawn and no brains and can carefully execute plans while giving off the impression he's stupid to the enemy. The one thing he despises is paperwork and would often offer to pay for food and drinks for the other 2 heads just to do his share too, something that would usually work since the other 2 don't mind that much. On top of that, Bob offered to train Ren in the arts of slaughter in the month before the final fight against Fairy Tale. He's a man who sheds gallons of his own blood without a care, but ravages the earth if the same happens to his men. In terms of supernatural reputation, it's well known among the underground and underworld that Bob managed to hold his ground against the dark lord Touhou and was asked by him in his final moments to take care of the world he lives behind. In other words, Touhou appointed Bob as his successor and that set off the course of Cerberus becoming the organization that ensures the friendly coexistence of monsters and humans. Following the events of Rosario Vampire II, Bob goes on to establish his presence in China and becomes an ally of the Huang and Ming families, an honorary member even. From this point forward, both monsters and humans can be enlisted as Cerberus agents and work together against Fairy Tale. Eventually, Bob hands over the keys to the next generation of heads, appointing Ren as the next master of Demolition and Slaughter, having recognized his abilities and most importantly, spirit. That and he often makes remarks that it's not nice to leave a lady hanging and that he should go finish the wedding preparations before officially taking the mantle.

Aren Sow (Execution/Assassination): At the age of 70, he's part of the 3 heads and also the one who extended Cerberus' influence even in Africa, his home continent. He runs the assassination and execution part of Cerberus through the use of guns, having the best eyesight in the entire organization. On top of that, doctors have implied numerous times that even if he breathes, his hands barely tremble, making his accurate to a T and beyond. He gained his position after managing to calm the waves between monsters and humans in Africa, a place where laws were barely established as far as the supernatural is concerned. He much prefers the comfort of an office than going on the field, stating he had 40 years of hands-on experience and that he would like to retire, except that's not an option yet. However, whenever it is required to go on the field, then one can be sure the field will be dyed crimson red without a doubt. Aren has been able to shoot the dark lord Mikogami in the leg while his true form was unleashed, during a time when Cerberus only recently came to Asia and was considered a simple monster-slaying business. After that initial shot, they managed to solve and establish a relationship through diplomacy, obtaining from Mikogami the 'permission' to act on Japan's territory. Personally, Aren did not think they needed any permission, but was glad there would be less problems further down the line. He's the one who trained Ken in the one month before Moka's rescue and even though his main abilities rely on guns, give the man a machete and he can make quick work of you if your eyes aren't sharp enough. After Alucard's demise, Aren was placed as a temporary headmaster at Yokai Academy until Tsukune is good enough to take over the position. Of course, monster students and teachers were a bit skeptical about a human headmaster, but Aren took care of it with a simple challenge: Whoever manages to wound me in the next 10 minutes gets to eat me. Not like that ended anywhere other than a flawless time as a headmaster for the African man. In fact, he likes the position so much that after Tsukune officially became the headmaster, he settled for a job as a teacher at the Academy, finding it far less tiresome than going around shooting people here and there. Of course, part of his job is also chief of security at the school so not all action is given up. All this means that Ken goes on to become the successor and the next head of Assassination and Execution. He and his brother mark the youngest generation of heads Cerberus ever had, at just the age of 19 to 20. Although, unsure if the strongest, they're certainly the unique ones so far.

Walter West (Assault Force): The last head of Cerberus and the most recent succession (about 30 years ago) is none other than Felicia's father and therefore Ren's, Ken's, and every other child's granddad. He's the oldest head in terms of age, being 80 years old. Around 30 years ago (2 months after Akasha was rescued from inside Alucard), his wife has been killed by stray monster hunters in her attempt to protect a weakened Akasha. As a result, the killers were apprehended by Issa Shuzen and Walter (squadron leader at the time) was called into action to give a verdict. There were fears that a war with the Shuzen family would break out since a high official's wife has been murdered on their turf. While it pained Walter, he abided by the code and executed the criminals on the spot, with his barehanded (kicked one's head it completely detached itself). On the other hand, the man felt insulted that Issa proposed reviving his wife through vampire blood and took a saber to his neck: You breathe in front of me, because I allow you to. This woman lives, because my wife said she shall live. Don't you EVER make me regret this indulgence. The rosary that Akasha, later on, gives to Moka was in fact a gift from Walter's wife and he appreciated the gest of trying to return it, but if she gave it to Akasha, Walter would respect that wish. Later on, he would assist in turning the Rosary into a seal and even make Shuzen Kahlua's cross limiters. To the Shuzen sisters, Walter has become something like an Uncle, even with the shaky relationship with Issa. It's why it was painful for him to have to kill said vampire's first wife. She too was on good terms with his wife in the past. Regarding the man made monsters that his daughter's taking care of, he rarely visits and keeps his line of work separated from his family, but whenever he does come around, the younger kids are overjoyed and often would attempt to 'wrestle' with the old man. The older ones settle for stories, and trust me, he has a lot of them from the time he was working in Europe. For Ren and Ken, in particular, he goes out of his way to prepare them, similar to how he prepared Juzo mainly because these 2 are the only mechanical subjects, the rest being combinations of various monster DNA. For the fact that they're unique, they're most likely to attract the most trouble and that would be proven right considering the events of the series. He's the first head of Cerberus who fully retired after Alucard was dealt with, opting to be more active in taking care of his grandkids. Or as he puts is: I want to reach 100 years surrounded by my kids and not dismembered bodies. Combat? A simple blade and an old revolver is all he uses, but little do his enemies know that every inch of that blade and every cranny of those bullets are carefully maintained and imbued with poisons to make death a bliss. Apparently, women have tried to take his wife's place before, but he didn't give them the time of day, which somewhat irritated the Snow priestess. At some point, there have been people sent after his daughter because of it and all have been disposed of by Juzo. After he retired, Juzo stepped in to fill the position, but not before making a promise of always keeping his now new wife in mind. AKA, he received Walter's blessing.

Meaningful Relationships:

Kahlua Shuzen: The second oldest daughter of Issa and one with a less than desirable life. Since she has the property to completely nullify the pain she feels in combat, she often feels that she might even forget she's alive, something she also confesses to her sister Kokoa at one point. For that very reason, her whole world is knocked upside down when Ren enters the scene. First at Mizore's village and then on the Floating Garden, she experienced on her own skin the feeling of Ren's chainsaw and found out that with Ren continuing to 'drink' her blood, her pain nullifier effect slowly wears off. The man even told her at one point that he'll make you feel alive, something that was interpreted as a confession and proposal later on. Who would have thought Issa and Walter would end up as relatives in the future, or do they? In any case, she forfeits in battle after the pain became too much for her to continue and is taken into custody by Cerberus after Ren prevented Kiria (the new leader of Fairy Tale) from taking Kahlua with him. As a new year at Yokai academy begins, she's employed under Aren (much like Ruby) and works as an assistant. Sometimes, she even visits her 'uncle' Walter at the orphanage, asking about the whereabouts of the one who made me feel alive. Both Moka and Kokoa feel relieved to see their sister freed from others' control (Like Alucard and then her mother) and they're the ones who gave her one last push to enlist in Cerberus and as she quickly rose through the ranks, she finally came face to face with the one she was looking for.

Akua Shuzen: The Eldest daughter out of the Shuzen sisters and the one who caused the most problems by far. Initially, she took Ken for a spin when she visited the orphanage in hopes of finding her uncle Walter there. She meant to ask him for advice and share with him the promise she made with Akasha, but destiny took a different course. She won against Ken due to her dimensional sword technique, something Ken had no way of defending against at the time. However, she found out quickly that Ken was leagues over her in terms of speed and that bothered her as a vampire, as it was on par with werewolf speed under a full moon. In their rematch at the Flying Garden, following Ken's training with Aren, the boy made use of the most crucial thing he was though. Since the dimensional sword worked as a saw action, constantly switching between dimensions, Ken's chance at parrying it would be when she is in his dimension and with enough speed and eye training (Cudos of the best sniper Cerberus ever had), he managed to pull it off and continuously chop at her body. Combine his natural regenerative blade with his grandpa's poisons and you get one effective vampire killing machine. That's not to say it was a breeze to defeat Moka's eldest sister. Eventually, as Moka and Tsukune finally became an item, she felt a feeling of loneliness, since her little sister no longer needed her family's protection. As such, Akua drifted from place to place, for the most part helping out her sister Kahlua so she can be as close to Moka as possible until her father Issa finally proposed Walter the idea of his daughters helping against the new Fairy Tale and call it fate or just Walter messing around, but the women ended up as the Assassination Chief's right hand. Now, office romances aren't supposed to be public, are they? The sister complex didn't go anywhere, but there's one other 'complex' to compete with it now.

Moka Akashiya: The outer Moka, being who she was, had little to no reason to interact with Ren or Ken, at least at first. Therefore it's the Inner Moka who went on to make the 'introductions'. Around the time she took care of Gin for being a pervert, it's the first time she got to use her kick on Ren, who was there to have a little chat with Gin regarding how he better not hides his magazines inside his desk cause if he were to visit Ririko's office again, things won't end well for the wolf. The vampire misinterpreted that as Ren assisting Gin and attacked, with her usual phrase. That alone was the final push for an already pissed of Ren so Mika's leg ended up somewhat torn the chains he let out of his skin. The 2 started off as enemies. Ken, on the other hand, is the one to calm his brother down and tell the vampire that we know our places, but do you know yours? Eventually, as both Mokas got to learn their story and see their forms, she became less and less antagonistic and more empathetic, culminating will an actual apology after learning Walter is their grandfather. You could say the hatchet was buried, but that didn't stop the boy from returning the favor, taking over the role of mincing Alucard's body: Easy there, tomato addict. That's our target practice for today. Know your place. With the eventual relationship between the 2 and her sisters, their relationship evolved to that of siblings or at least close enough for them to take shots at each other without taking it personal. In the case of outer Moka, most of the time she apologizes for what the Inner one would do or say and try as they might, the 2 can't really blame one for the other, and they can't really wrap their hands around as both personalities being the same person.

Tsukune Aono: Before him being injected with Moka's blood, the human boy would often seek comfort in the company of Ren and Ken, after hearing rumors that they smell a bit like humans. Naturally, he hoped he wasn't the only human around. That wasn't the case, but the brothers openly admitted to him their mother was human and that they're technically human as well. Aside from Moka, these 2 are the only other people at the school Tsukune confessed to being a human and was pleasantly surprised and relieved there was no change in attitude. Tsukune would often mediate disputes between the Yoshikage siblings and Inner Moka as much as he could too. After he started becoming a ghoul and later on a vampire, there were times when he fought Ren out of frustration after being told that he's too naive and that I won't fight battles you pick on a whim. I am not your silver-haired bodyguard. After these fights, Ken would usually bring Tsukune to the infirmary and explain to him that constantly nagging his brother will get him nowhere. One such encounter led to Tsukune letting his anger out on Ken as well, ending up hurt even more and with a final warning: Remember what I told you? We grew up among humans who can make entire monster races go extinct. It never occurred to you that we can fight just like them? When all is said and done, their relationship started improving again when Aono would finally take it upon himself to improve, meaning around the time he asked Touhou to make him strong to save Moka. In case it wasn't apparent, neither Ken nor Ren have patience for crybabies past the middle school age.

Kurumu Kurono: Fortunately, for her, she ended her plans of turning the school into her harem pretty early, otherwise some new upperclassmen wouldn't have liked the idea. Overall, she would often come to either Ren or Ken to plead them to do something against Gin from time to time, since she's the most targeted one by his pervy antics or try and have the 2 help win Tsukune over by exploiting their rather rocky relationship with Moka, except she didn't take into account that as far as Outer Moka is concerned, she's on pretty good terms with the Yoshikage siblings. Following the reveal of Ren's partial monster form (happened when he dealt with Kurumu's snail blackmailer, revealing a single arm chainsaw), she was too scared in the heat of the moment and fled the scene. Without really giving it much thought, she unwillingly spread a rumour that Ren might be an outcast, which in turn put the guy on the outcasts' watchlist. They even approached him a few times through Saizou for recruiting, but since the outcasts too had a negative view on humans, he refused: Superior to poor bloods? With the same outdated mindset? She eventually apologize for causing him so much trouble, but still has a hard time accepting what Ren is, especially after his full monster form is revealed during Mizore's crisis. Later on, she along with Mizore and Gin visit the orphanage during summer vacation to learn a thing or 2 for their 'anti-Inner Moka fight' or whatever. Although they get along for the most part, if there's one thing Ren never liked about her is her inability to move on and even told to her face that you're only stabbing yourself deeper with a knife you continue to sharpen for no reason. But let's not forget the boy had to mature faster than normal kids. It's a good thing Ken is always around to listen to her worries, since he has a lot more patience for things like these and a much better relationship with Kurumu overall than Ren, which is why he managed to make her stop 'sharpening the knife' and look the other way before the wound was too deep, cause It's not in your character to break up the love of others, Kurumu, even as a succubus.

Ginei Morioka: He's on much better terms with Ken than Ren and that's purely his fault for pushing Ren's buttons too many times. After he saw Ren's monster form, he wondered what Ken looked like, since they were brothers and got his answer when the student police stopped the 2 to interrogate Ken specifically, as he was suspected for his human-like scent. Obviously, all it took was a quick reveal of the blades inside his arms to prove the contrary, but refused to give any further details regarding his origins. As the student police didn't like the hostility, they tried to apprehend him and that's when Gin witnesses for the first time Ken's full form and the speed that rivals his own. But he chooses to keep it a secret to no longer trouble the 2 brothers since different monsters forms and especially unknown species already spells out a troublesome history. He even goes out of his way to scold Kurumu on one occasion regarding her meddling with Ren's business, since if they can make quick work of outcasts or the student police, then they're obviously living in a different league. He even asked the 2 brothers if they were outcasts even with the risk of them turning hostile. Of course, that wasn't the case, but nonetheless, Gin started 'behaving' around the 2 differently from his usual self around Kurumu or Moka. The reason for that is realizing that the Yoshikage siblings don't really have a feeling of 'we're monsters, therefore we're alike' when it comes to Yokai academy students and therefore any more 'button pushing' could potentially turn the 2 against the school sooner or later. Case and point, he'd like if it didn't come to that.

Ruby Toujou: Ruby is perhaps the one closer to the 2 brothers on an empathetic level. She would often visit Felicia after she took care of her and got to know the story of the orphanage sooner than everyone else, therefore gives more understanding to the boys and their actions. Her masochistic side showed at some corners here and there, especially after witnessing the chains Ren uses and brought up the subject of bondage, not that Ren is into it or anything. On the other hand, she's the one who often convinces either Ren or Ken to give Tsukune and his gang a hand when they're in over their heads, even if the Yoshikage siblings have no reason or need to join the fray, such as when Mizore's village was invaded by Fairy Tale, though that ended up setting off a whole different chain of events regarding Ren and Kahlua. After working for Aren for a year, she got to closely observe the inner workings of Cerberus and found a whole new layer to the supernatural worlds, something Gin was alluring to when talking about living in a different league. A special point is that she confessed to Ren about fearing Juzo to some extent. Apparently, during the school festival, Juzo had a dispute with the PE teacher regarding Felicia's smell and ended up hospitalizing the teacher for a whole month (thankfully it was the end of the school year too). If anything, that's a laughing matter to Ren, cause it's a good thing he ran into Juzo of all people. This time I would have certainly severed all his tentacles. After being told about Ren's 'escapade' with the PE teacher in his second year, she learned that sometimes even Juzo's 'little brothers' can be pretty scary.

Mizore Shirayuki: She's the closest anyone in Tsukune's group has gotten to Ren and that's mostly due to her way of expressing emotions or lack thereof. Ren himself doesn't like putting himself on a stage and telling people about himself, so the fact that Mizore doesn't try and pry into it really worked wonders for the 2 of them. Funny thing is in a similar way Kurumu would get Ken to listen to her complaints, Mizore would go on to pull Ren along just to have someone there in the background she can talk to. She even mentions he doesn't need to respond or pay attention, just be there so she doesn't talk to herself. Unlike Kurumu, wanting someone to hear her troubles, Mizore seems to just not give the impressions she talks to herself. The first encounter with Ren was when she was dealing with the creepy PE teacher, that instance being the first time Ren's full transformation was revealed in front of the gang but also 2 other teachers like Miss Nekonome and Miss Ririko. It was the moment the guy confessed that I really hate the teachers at this school, in the heat of the moment. He technically saved Mizore so that's why he was only suspended for a week for hurting a teacher as opposed to expulsion, but let's just say that week there would always be some ice in front of his dorm room. During the invasion of the Snow Village, Ren cut both of Miyabi Fujisaki's (Alucard's clone) hands off even though he was missing his own arm too and met Kahlua for the first time, while giving her a taste of the pain only he can continuously provide. Aside from that, he had a rather brief dialogue with Jack Frost regarding the prophecy around Mizore. Jack, more or less tells him that his predictions always come true, even if not in the expected way and to watch out with your words, man devil. You don't want to go with more than 2. Admittedly, even Ren let a 'the fuck is that supposed to mean' slip out of his mouth, but Jack isn't a spirit of many words apparently, at least not towards Yoshikage. Leading up to Tsukune and Moka being together and Cerberus changing its 3 heads, Mizore would spend the final year at Yokai academy observing Tsukune's relationship and taking notes and even asking Moka's for hidden ways to deal with vampires cause she might make use of them soon enough.

Final Notes

Regarding other children that live at the orphanage under special care, they consists of various experiments for example: A crossbreed between a succubus and an incubus inside the body of a human girl (unknown if that's the reason she's bisexual), a human capable of shedding its skin and continue living as a skeleton and could (theoretically, wear the skin of others), a hybrid of a Jack-o-Lantern and a Dulhan, having the pumpkin being the removable head, therefore being 2 personalities into one. (One controls the body, the other the floating flaming head).

Walter, Bob and Aren, after giving up their positions as Cerberus' heads went on to become 'Godfathers' of the world that's supposed to ensure the coexistence of humans and monsters. By that I mean that they've advanced to the position of ambassadors between the 2 worlds and are usually involved in conducting diplomatic meeting between human governments and monster representatives like the Shuzen family (Walter) or the Huang and Ming families (Bob), with Aren as the schools protector against monster hunters sent to destabilize the situation.

The biological engineering of man made monsters grants them a longevity on par with regular monsters, meaning the current 3 heads of Cerberus would be in position for a very, VERY long period of time. That being said, there's annual meeting between the 3 heads, the 3 godfathers and major/influential representatives of either monsters or humans and more often than not they place at Yokai academy as a neutral area.

For the most part, teachers at Yokai academy are very prudent around the Yoshikage siblings after the PE teacher went against Ren. With the exception of Miss Nekonome who's pretty good friends with Felicia after a point, they all had some form of altercation, Ririko Kagome having the most insignificant one so far since she didn't really make any moves on them directly, and because the 2 brothers have some degree of respect for her as their homeroom teacher. Needless to say, once the younger kids of the orphanage reached highschool age, Yokai academy would get a lot more livelier.

Attack on Titan

Lore changes for the Bloodborne Crossover

The parasite- like being that attaches itself to Ymir's spine is actually a Kin (one-dimensional being, a lesser being from Bloodborne, often confused with Great Ones (Multi-Dimensional beings). They're much weaker than the Great Ones, but also above the level of regular humans, therefore being able to bestow the power of the Titans onto Ymir and her subjects later on. This is in contrast to the Moon Presence, a Great One from bloodborne that aided in creating the Hunter's Dream, a dimension where Hunters wake up upon death, similar to the purgatory and from where they can return to the living. A hunter can only be killed for good if they're killed within the Hunter's Dream, at which point they become a person who no longer dreams. In other words, their link to the Hunter's Dream is severed and can die for real in the normal world. Hunters are also immune to the titan spinal fluid, therefore can't turn or inherit one.

In terms of the world, the hunters, once spread across the world, now mainly inhabit Acirema, therefore are quite isolated, safe for the Hizuru (Asians), therefore being somewhat of a mystery to both Eldians and Marley. They're aware they exist, but have barely any sort of connections with them, political or economical. This also means the continent of Acirema is mainly populated with other sorts of Kin and Monsters, making Titans just one of the world's many dangerous powers out there. It is believed that even with the Rumbling, the Hunter would have most likely been fine, as the titans would have no way to infiltrate the Hunter's Dream and get rid of them indefinitely. Most continents are unaware of how to harness the power of a Great One and avoid venturing into Acirema due to being poorly prepared for the exotic monsters that roam those lands. There are regular humans there, but have long since been integrated into living alongside those monsters and the hunters that dispose of them.

Main Character:

Felix, no last name given or really known, is proof that the Hunters once roamed over other continents as well, him being the only one left on Paradis Island. He's mute from birth (year 832 as an estimate), so his only ways of communication are through sign language (which very few people on the island know) or written text. Supposedly, his parents used to be in the Underground city of the island, but the details are unclear as he's been born dead. However, being the descendants of a hunter (unclear how many generations behind), most of his infancy was spent inside the Hunter's Dream, surrounded by other Hunters and therefore learning about their customs. He'd eventually come back to the world of the living, finding himself, or rather his body, thrown away at the bottom of a lake, before making his way to the surface. For the following years he'd be involved in child labor as an ophan to assure his own living prior to attempting to join the military. He's been rather succesful in child labor as being a hunter himself, albeit a child, his phisical capabilities were impressive. A hunter doesn't possess a healing ability like a titan shifter does, but their body does reconstruct itself while their consciousness is inside the Hunter's Dream. In essence, if a hunter lost a hand, they could regain it by either killing themself and waking back up, or consuming the blood of a monster (Titans do count).

Following his enrollment into the training regiment, he had no impediments except for the 3D omnidirectional gear, having very poor balance on it. In fact, he was given many chances at redemption purely due to his very good scores in other areas. Eventually a consensus was reached that Felix would be allowed to continue training in the military on the condition he'd procure his own living expenses (food, water and so on), therefore that marked the beginning of many hunting sessions for food whenever he had free time. Regarding the 3 corps one could join after graduation, due to the fact he couldn't ever graduate normally as the most important subject was an absolute failure, the boy tried to venture outside the walls by himself, regardless of titans and the Survey corp came across him during a hunting spree of titans through his own manufactured weapons. Eventually, after his unusual abilities are brought to light to the rest of the higher ups of the military, Felix is granted an honorary rank, people in on the truth about the titans taking careful consideration to avoid a confrontation with what they knew to be a Hunter, since as far as they were aware, he could very well pull the whole curtain on their hidden agenda. So the best way to avoid that would be to not needlessly engage him in a way they would attain his interest.

Weapon:

The Whirligig Saw, a weapon Felix made for himself after drawing inspiration from the Hunters he met inside the Dream, is primarily a big and heavy mace that can attach a saw wheel with sharp teeth that can spin automatically due to a mechanism leading to a handle on the body of the mace. Due to his physical prowess, he can swing the enormous weapon with ease, much less carry it on his back. It is very efficient at shredding titans, even their legs to make them topple so Felix can strike the neck. This weapon was made in secret whenever he would take a break from hunting for food and was tested to be capable of shredding down trees if needed. And that's without the option of putting cloth on the wheel and setting it ablaze for burning effect as well. It was due to this weapon and particular way of slaying titans that the Survey corp eventually, after long negotiations took Felix as an honorary member, taking him on missions from time to time, but more importantly tasking him with mapping the terrain and gather knowledge about the world beyond the walls, as he could go much further without the overdependence on gas for the 3D maneuvering gear. Granted Felix hasn't yet reached the sea, due to being burdensome for Horses to travel such a long distance and being more difficult to hunt for food in titan territory. Still, he's the only member of the Survey Corp they can afford to abandon in the middle of nowhere for a few weeks with the assurance he has chances of coming back. This was the reason a strange rumor started going around that besides the Madman that was Erwin and the powerhouse that was Levi, the Survey Corp had a butcher in their ranks, a rumor kids younger by 2 to 3 years would discuss and eventually discover the truth on once they'd join the Trainees.

Following this addition to the ranks of the Scouting Legion, Shadis was filled in on Felix's new circumstances and the training grounds served as a place for Felix to take a breather when he wasn't needed by the corps. This served as a way for him to interact with the 104th Training Crops and its members, which would lead further into the development of the story with him to tag along. That's not to say Shadis wouldn't often require Felix to supervise and even train the cadets himself, despite being only 2 years older.

In the beginning only current or ex leaders of the 3 corps and the Priest, were informed of Felix's status, with different degrees of accuracy or details, depending on how much they knew themselves. But only the Reiss family (or what's left of it, excluding Historia) know that Felix is in fact the Last Hunter on Paradis island.
