Their favorite flavors of ice cream changes depending on one thing - If they're sharing it with each other or not. As expected, Kokichi's favorite is grape (panta, if they have it). Shuichi's is, surprisingly, pistachio ice cream. However, on the rare occasion when they know the ice cream will melt a bit too quickly or they feel mushy in public, the two will share a blue moon, superman, rocky road abomination.
And yes Kokichi does try to lick the ice cream at the same time as Shuichi does, which often doesn't turn out like he expected because he can't predict ice cream patterns apparently.
