For some "unknown" (Izuru-ic) reason, Hajime can't go to doctors without being on the verge of passing out and panicking. This, combined with normal sicknesses that get worse if not cured has become a huge hindrance to everyone.
Speaking of Izuru caused side effects...
Hajime has instances where he enters into the mindless Izuru and forgets practically everything. These come when he is particularly stressed or when large amounts of self doubts begin to surface. The class has managed to help Hajime soothe himself and cooperate with his changed brain to the point where he can now warn others or leave the vicinity.
