He's terrified of flying insects. There's no explicit trauma behind it, he just really hates them. Hajime can handle being in a room with spiders and fire ants, but put him in a room with dragonflies... No one ever lets him live this fear down, even if they do make sure to bring bug spray especially for him. As tested by Hiyoko, thrown insects do not count as flying insects to Hajime. The poor ant that was thrown onto his eye now lives in a small jar and is named "Hue," because he's really bland.
