It had been a busy few days down at bondi and the summer season was not far away. It had been anoher hectic day and me and Bacon were doing some final rounds in the rhino warning people that we were leaving when Jesse came over the radio.
" tower to blue rhino, 3rd ramp now!"
" copy, out the back?" I replied as bacon turned the rhino around and began speeding down to 3rd ramp
" Impact zone, holding up ok but getting dragged out quickly" Jesse replied as I stripped out my top ready to jump out. We screeched to a halt and I leapt out, grabbed the board and ran in. I could see a head of dark hair going backwards, I paddled quickly over the waves up to the man.
As I grabbed him and pulled him to the board I realised who it was.
" Mr Parish!?" I exclaimed
" Jorja Trini!?" he exclaimed back clutching the board
" what are you doing here!?" I asked pulling him up onto the board
" I could ask you the same thing!" he said with a shocked look on his face
" I work here now, oh my god, this is so weird!" I laughed, out the corner of my eye I saw bacon waving at me, obviously confused as to why I was sitting on the board and chatting to a man " hang on lets get on land, right lay down on your stomach"
He lay down and I began paddling in, I luckily caught a nice wave and got us to shore pretty quickly. We stood up and I gave him a awkward hug. Bacon walked over
" hey bacon, this is my old psychology teacher Mr parish!"
The confused/ shocked look i got was priceless.
" come on up to the tower and we can explain more there" I said jumping into the rhino and driving them both up. Walking up the stairs maxi appeared
" is this a first aid job?"
" no , this is my old teacher!"
" and your happy that he's found you!" Maxi exclaimed walking back in the tower as we followed
" take a seat sir, hey boys this is my old teacher Mr Parish" I smiled walking over to Jesse and wrapping my arm round his waist
There were shocked breaths and then murmers of hello
" Jorja dont call me sir anymore, its Liam" he smiled " so what are you doing over in Australia?" he asked flicking his hair slightly, he was a young teacher still and still was a bit good looking!
" I live here now!, this is my new life!" I smiled nodding my head towards the boys " what about you, still teaching?"
" holiday and yep still at the school, nobodies ever lived up to your standard though" he laughed as I took a bow
" why were you a nerd or something?" Maxi butted in
I glared at him " no... well... I was smart and didnt have any friends sooooooo yeah actually I was" I admitted
" but that meant you aced your exams though" Liam protested
" Why what did you get?" Maxi asked
" Yeah you've never actually told us what exam results you got?" Jesse urged
" um GCSE wise 2 A*, 5 A's and 3 B's, In my Alevels which is like college I got 2 A*s and a B. I then went on and did a psychology degree at university which I got a 1st in which is basically the top mark.... then I couldnt find a job so I worked at the shop and beach in england before coming here" I looked up to see all 8 faces staring at me shocked
" you went to uni and did a degree?!" Jesse stuttered in shock
" but you said you hated school!" Maxi exclaimed
" I did.... but I was good at it" I smiled
" You never told us you had a degree!" Dunno gasped
" conversation never came round to it" I shrugged
" so your a psychologist?" Bacon said
" no you need more years at uni for that, no I have a degree in psychology so I could go on and teach it if I wanted"
" you can read peoples minds!" Maxi blurted out
I looked at him and sighed " no I cant read peoples minds, I can understand why things happen and crap like that, google it maxi" i chuckled. Maxi picked up his phone and typed something in. The look of confusion that spread across his face was amazing
" um, theres a load of shit about core theorys and studies and biological approaches" he said
" oh yeah the theories and studies of areas?"
" um yeah, wait let me test you!" He said quickly " ummmmmmm whats the .... Alternative theory of the sex and gender topic?" He said it slowly and seemed to question his every word whilst reading
" school wasnt your best area was it maxi?" I laughed
" thats why i left at 16" He smiled " now go on, enlighten us with your knowledge!"
I looked over to Liam and smiled " right, the alternative theory of sex and Gender is the psychodynamic approach where the boys experiance lust for their mothers but fear getting castrated by their fathers, they then identify with their fathers and develop a masculine identity. Girls desire their fathers and experiance penis envy, they blame their mothers for them not having one and then they identiy with their mothers and desire a baby" I turned to Liam " still got it!" I laughed, hi fiving him
" you have remembered well!" he laughed " well I best get going or else the wife will be worrying. Its been great to see you Jorja and I hope everything works out well for you" He stood up and gave me a hug " oh thanks for saving me!" he laughed
" no problem sir, thanks for being my only friend in school!" I laughed as he walked out the tower. I turned around to see the boys all standing there " what? he was my only friend in school!"
" I really want to call you a nerd but it annoyingly makes you pretty cool, psychology looks pretty fun!" Maxi laughed
" in that case have you ever seen sigmunds freuds psychosexual development theory?" I found a relevant page and clicked on it. I stood back and watched as Maxi took in the details of the theory
" oh god!" He exclaimed his face a look of disgust
" still like psychology?"
sorry this is shit but i have a psycholgy exam tomorrow and I thought I'd link them in :) also if you dont do psychology ... sorry you wont understand :/
had 4 exams so far.... biology- great 39/47 English- meh could have gone better ended up writing about how i symathised with a dinosaur .......... Maths- SHIT! German writing- ok :D wrote about bondi so it was easy to remember and learn for the exam :D
got general studies, psychology and german reading tomorrow :(
