As luck would have it (bondi rescue fanfic)

riding with Jesse-part 2

I walked away " right lets see what you can do" I said to tasmin. I aimed her towards the end of the beach and made her stand still, I stood up in my saddle into the galloping position, time seemed to stand still as I focused on the end of the beach. taking a deep breath I prepared myself and released the reins and gave a kick.

Tasmin shot forward like a racehorse and I was almost knocked off from the speed, tears streamed down my face due to the speed. I leant forward more and urged her on, this was the fastest I had ever been in my life, I brought her down into canter and turned her towards the water before kicking her on again, not that she needed much encouragement, the wind whipped through my hair and tasmins mane, we galloped on and everything was going perfectly, that couldn't change fast enough.

we were galloping along when we passed a bird which was dead on the floor, but the wings flapped in the wind, tasmin spooked at this and swerved to the right quickly, I wasn't prepared for this and I flew over her head and landed on the sand with a thud, time seemed to stand still as my foot was trapped in the stirrup, tasmin didn't stop though, she carried on galloping with my foot still in the stirrup, dragging me along behind her. I yanked my foot backwards and the stirrup leather slid off, but tasmin kept on galloping towards the water, she was a loose horse on a wide open beach!

I stood up quickly as I wasn't in pain and could only watch as tasmin galloped off towards the water. I heard thundering hoofs behind me and I turned to see Jesse and Laura galloping towards me, they pulled up next to me 

" sh*t are you ok!" Jesse exclaimed

" I'm fine, but you've got to get tasmin!" I yelled to them Laura kicked Kitta on and galloped off after tasmin, Jesse held out his hand and I vaulted on Larrys back behind Jesse, he kicked Larry on and we followed Laura, I wrapped my hands round Jesse's waist as we cantered after tasmin and kitta.

Laura had finally caught up to tasmin who had now began to tire but was still not stopping, we got near them and galloped on either side of tasmin, trying to box her in and slow her, but she wouldn't stop, she was having to much fun,  I knew what I needed to do, I had done it before with my friends at the stables, I yelled to laura and Jesse

" stay next to her, I'm gonna have to jump!"

" NO Jorja!" Jesse said as I swung my legs over larry's back to face tasmin, I ignored him and took a deep breath, I reached over as far as I could and grabbed a handful of tasmin's mane, I got my legs positioned ready and pushed off, time stood still as I flew over the gap between larry and tasmin, I swung my leg over and managed to just land in the saddle, adjusting my position I grabbed the reins and pulled with all my strength, we slowed down to a canter, then trot and eventually a halt. we all stood there going over what happened, that's when I realised how much I was shaking.

" its a good thing me and my friends practised that at home when I was younger!" I exclaimed, Laura turned to me, she was a white as a sheet

" are you ok, that was a stupid and brave thing to do!"

" I'm fine laura, believe me I've had a lot worse when I rode!" I exclaimed

I looked at Jesse, he hadn't said a word " I'm ok Jesse, seriously, I knew what I was doing!"

" you could have been killed jumping like that!" he said with anger in his voice

" Jesse I'm fine!, I'm used to falls like that" I reached out and held his hand, I looked into his eyes " I'm fine"

we turned around and began to walk up the beach tammy was clearly tired now, " I'm just going to canter her in a circle, just so she knows I'm boss"

I kicked her on into a bouncy canter and did circles and transitions, we passed the bird and I made her look at it for a while before we carried on back to the stables, we rode back in comfortable silence and I rode next to Jesse, he kept on looking at me to make sure I was ok

" I'm fine Jesse, only a bit dirty that's all!" I said, he nodded

we got back to the stables at 5:30 it had been a long ride, when we walked into the yard the stable hands came out to get the horses and they were shocked at the state of us, tasmin was covered in sand and sweat, I was filthy from landing in the sand and poor Larry was drenched in sweat even though we had finished cantering ages ago. Laura jumped and went and told the stable hands what happened, I led tasmin into the stable and untacked her, then a stablehand came in to take over, I thanked her and gave tammy a mint before walking out to see Jesse speaking with Laura

" I am so sorry about today, I've given you a refund because of everything and we can only apologise so much" laura said

" you didn't have to do that, I told you, ive had worse happen to me, but thank you anyway, I had a really good time!" I smiled " thank you again!" I said as we walked towards the car.

we drove home and when we got out the car I knew Jesse was feeling the muscle ache as he walked in a strange way

" whats wrong?" I said holding back laughter knowing that certain parts of his body were probably in extreme pain right now

" I'm fine" Jesse squeaked

I giggled and walked up the stairs o the apartment with him

" you go sit down, I will make dinner!" I said walking to the kitchen, I pulled out some chicken, bacon and cream cheese, I made chicken wrapped in bacon with cream cheese, it had always been a favourite of mine. about 30 minutes later I served it up to Jesse who hadn't moved from the sofa. He polished off the meal " that was gorgeous!" he said

" thanks, its one of my favourites!" I said back

we sat and watched TV for a few hours and then I went and got ready for bed, I went into the bathroom and looked at my back, there were a few bruises but nothing major, "luckily we were on sand" I muttered to myself before putting my pjamas on.

Jesse was already in bed when I walked out  the bathroom, I climbed in and he rolled over to face me " you were amazing today, don't do it again though!"

I laughed and snuggled down, " I wont, don't worry, you were also amazing as well, you can really ride well!" I rolled over and heard Jesse whisper

" thank you, good night Jorja"

" night Jesse, thank you for a amazing day"

SORRY ITS CRAP!

THIS RIDING CHAPTER IS ATUALLY BASED ON SOME OF MY EXPERIANCES, THE HORSES ARE ALL ONES I USED TO KNOW, TASMIN WAS THE NICKNAME FOR MY OLD LOAN PONY. WHEN TASMIN SPOOKS THAT IS ACTUALLY A TRUE STORY EXCEPT MY HORSE SPOOKED ON THE BEACH AT A BIT OF DIFERENT COLOURED SAND AND RAN OFF DOWN THE ROADS BACK TO THE STABLES, I WASNT RIDING HER THOUGH HER ACTUAL OWNER WAS :/ THOUGH I DIDNT JUMP ON HER BACK FROM ANOTHER HORSE! MY FOOT DID GET CAUGHT IN THE STIRRUP YEARS AGO THOUGH, NOT FUN!
