Grumpy

That night after everyone left, Steve took Seraphina with him back to his room. Bucky grabbed Alpine and carried him into the bedroom while the pair of you got ready for bed. Blue continued to whine, and tried to get closer to Alpine, but Bucky would give him a firm "no" in response. Alpine certainly appreciated it. You came out of the closet clad in your black negligee and Bucky groaned and started mumbling about needing a live-in babysitter before he went to go in and get changed. You couldn't help but giggle, knowing Bucky likely was going to get Steve to babysit tomorrow. You got curled up on the bed, and Blue came to lay at your chest. Bucky quickly came in and curled up next to you with Alpine laying up on his vibranium arm.
Waking up in the morning, Melody was already scratching at the door to be let out and you hurriedly got out of bed to open the balcony door. All of the wolves slowly got off of the bed and all trailed outside. Bucky slowly opened his eyes and turned slightly, but Alpine was still fast asleep on his arm.
"It's Sunday" you sighed happily, coming back to sit on the side of the bed, speaking in a soft whisper.
"I'm sorry we aren't going to the farmer's market" he frowned immediately and held out his flesh hand to you, and you immediately took it.
"Don't worry so much" you gave his palm a kiss. "We will be out and about again before you know it" you said with more confidence than you had.
"How about we have breakfast in bed?" he wiggled his eyebrows at you.
"No, you know Tony's rule" you giggled and laid down beside him.
"We could break the rules" he whispered.
"He will be in here demanding we come out, just like when I was in heat" you reminded him of that. He frowned a bit and hummed to himself, pulling you in for a soft kiss on the lips.
"Fine, but I'm getting a babysitter today" he warned you.
"I was expecting it," you giggled again. "You get grumpy"
"I just need some of my vitamin you" he winked at you.
"I'm going to go grab a shower" you gave him another soft kiss on the lips.
"We could conserve water," he chuckled.
"You should take care of your kitten" you pointed to the small white ball of fur. "He's going to wake up soon"
Bucky grinned in spite of himself and reached up to grab the small kitten and brought him down to lay on the bed between the two of you. Alpine woke up for a moment and did a big stretch in response.
"Papa" he purred loudly.
"He wants his papa" you announced with glee.
"Alright, but he's going with the babysitter" Bucky pulled him in closer to his body while you rolled out of bed and you rolled your eyes at the comment.
"You mean Stevie" you corrected him.
"Maybe Sam too," Bucky responded quickly. "Melody loves him"
"Sometimes she acts like he's her human, and not me" you gave a soft sigh as you walked into the bathroom for your shower.

You finished your shower, and took the time to put on some makeup for the day, even though you weren't going anywhere. You wanted to look pretty for Bucky, regardless of the amount of times he had told you that you didn't need any. You came out and walked naked into the bedroom and you saw Bucky groan and he raked his eyes over your entire body. You looked at him, already dressed for the day in black jeans, and a white t-shirt, still holding Alpine close to his chest.
"You're killing me, doll" Bucky groaned.
"You'll have your chance" you giggled and headed into the closet. You picked out a light blue fall dress and put it on with light blue undergarments. You put on a pair of black slippers and came back out with a smirk on your face. You heard a whine and you went to the balcony door and opened it up for the whole pack to come back in. You observed that the snow was melting quickly, and that gave you a bit of hope that you could still have the wedding outside. You closed the door and went back to Bucky who was using his spare hand to scratch Blue behind the ears.
"Are we going to breakfast? I'm starving" Melody asked quickly.
"Yes, we are headed to breakfast" you nodded with a broad smile on your face. "I take it one of my girls are hungry this morning," you added with a soft giggle.
"We both are," Snow quickly agreed.
"Alright, let's go eat" you reached out your hand to Bucky who quickly took it and he stood up to follow you with the pack at your heels. You all quickly made your way to the dining room where the rest of the team that was still in the compound were sitting. The wolves headed directly to their dishes and you could smell bacon wafting in the air. You hummed appreciatively and quickly went to take your seat.
"How was your sleep Steve?" you asked him as you sat down.
"Perfect! Seraphina cuddled right up to me all night long" Steve grinned happily.
"She's pretty attached to you already," you giggled.
"I heard from the boys, they are coming home early to see their pups. Peter told Aunt May he wouldn't be back for a week or two so that Cedar and Koa have time to get adjusted to living in their rooms" Wanda updated you as she started handing down the platter of food.
"Zephyr will probably start sleeping in Clint's room" you hummed to yourself as you filled your plate.
"Is Snow going to be okay with that?" Bucky asked you a bit worriedly.
"I'll have to be," you heard Snow say from the kitchen area.
"She will have to learn to be" you nodded. "They are growing up fast, and it's not like she won't be able to see them any longer" you added quickly.
"I guess it gives us more space on the bed temporarily" Bucky murmured more to himself.
"Just until Melody's little ones come" you nodded in quick agreement.
"I understand you normally go to the farmer's market on Sundays, do you plan on going today?" Loki asked quite suddenly.
"No, since Bucky can't leave the compound, it's better I stay in" you frowned slightly.
"That's likely for the best. Would you care for some tea time later this evening? Maybe in the main living room" he suggested with a small smile toying at his lips.
"I'd love that" you quickly agreed.
"Good. Wanda, Natasha and Pepper will also be joining us" Loki smiled fully.
"I'll put some beers in the fridge to chill for the gentlemen" Tony invited himself. "We can make a night of it"
"That would be wonderful" you cooed a little bit, and you felt Bucky put his hand on your lap and you looked at him and you both shared a smile.
"I need a babysitter for a few hours this afternoon" Bucky looked at both Sam and Steve.
"We will be hanging out in Steve's room, just bring them over after breakfast" Sam shrugged. "Can't have you being all grumpy when we go on missions for the week" he added in a murmur.
"He's not that bad" you gave a giggle while taking a bite of your bacon.
"No, he's that bad. We can tell when you both need your couple time" Nat stated matter of factly. "And I agree, it's time for your couple time"
"He's been a sweetie" you leaned over and kissed Bucky on the cheek and he grinned at you lovingly.
"You say that, but he glowers the longer you two aren't intimate" Bruce pointed out. "It's a little unnerving," he added in a soft chuckle.
"Are you feeling grumpy, honey?" you asked Bucky straight up.
"Not when I have you beside me" he gave his flirty smile, licking his top lip.
"You don't see it, but we do," Vision shrugged.
"I'll take care of him" you promised, flushing a little bit knowing that it was commonplace knowledge that you and Bucky were so intimate.
"I have a hypothesis that it has something to do with the bond" Tony took a big bite of his scrambled eggs. "Neither of you did well being separated while we at Shield either"
"Thank goodness that's not making a comeback" you gave a small huff.
"Actually... you didn't look at the mission docket for the week did you?" Bruce asked, his voice a little hushed. You let out a groan and took out your phone and looked at your email and saw that you were scheduled to go back to Shield for the week on Monday after breakfast.
"Can't, I have my appointment with doctor Cho Monday morning" you closed the email, disregarding orders.
"We are taking the jet after your appointment, and we need to go. They are having issues making the serum" Tony shook his head. "Is Cloud going to come with us again?"
"He's the only one that's comfortable around humans. But seriously? We made the serum easy" you huffed.
"That's what I said," Bruce rolled his eyes. Bucky audibly groaned in a huff and looked at Tony with a glare.
"Fury called us back, we have to go" Tony looked remorseful saying it.
"One of the batches they created exploded all over the lab" Bruce told you in a hushed tone.
"Seriously? We made the measurements of ingredients simple and easy for them to do" you stabbed your fork into your food.
"I know," Tony sighed.
"But Bucky is just starting to go back on missions again, I wanted to be home for him" you pouted.
"Bucky is going to be with me on all the missions, and we are going to be just fine" Steve assured you. "You two can do your video call at night like you did the last time" he added quickly.
"It's not the same," Bucky huffed.
"They are backed up with Hydra agents with the serum running in their veins, all in containment cells waiting for the counter serum" Tony said a little more gently.
"Fine, we will go make a large batch, but then they will have to learn to follow instructions" you decided.
"Doll" Bucky pouted visibly.
"It's a necessary evil" Bruce whispered to him. "You guys have your job, we have ours"
"It's going to be fine, its a quick flight out and a quick flight home at the end of the week" Nat tried to soothe you, but you couldn't help but feel like something was going to go terribly wrong, and you could feel it in the pit of your stomach.
