Chapter 53

Tris POV

Tobias kneels down and romves the mask from the man. He has blood oh his face but my heart skips a beat as I notice who it is. My father. Andrew Prior.

"Beatrice..." Caleb says as I am now on the verge of tears

"He... He's alive..." I stutter

"And he tried to kill us all" Caleb says

"Mom said one day something like this would happen" I say sobbing at the end and tears fall down my face frantically.

"What?" Caleb says concerned

"Mom knew about what he did to me. She knew it all."

"Beatrice it could have been worse" he states

"I didn't say you knew it all now did I" I say as more tears fall down. I wipe them as they fall

"There was more?"

"Yes"

"What the hell did this monster do to you Tris"

"Caleb calm down he's still your father" Susan argues

"He is not my father." Caleb sags calmly

"Caleb yes he is" I say holding back a sob and sneeze

"I guess I wasn't the only one in the family mom kept secrets from" Caleb says breaking eye contact

"What are you talking about Caleb" I say sniffling. Tobias stands up and wraps his arm around my waist and wipes my tears with his other hand.

"Mom never told you I guess. Tris we don't share the same dad." Caleb says sternly

"Caleb stop" I say and sob

"We are half siblings. We came from the same mom that's where the similarities end."

"Caleb what are you talking about Andrew is your dad too" Tobias sahs

"No he isn't." Caleb argues

"Then who is" I ask

"Ask number boy" Caleb says

"Its not him" Tobias says. I think he's talking about Marcus. But how is he sure?

"Beatrice we can discuss this later at my house tonight. If you don't come you can't know. Susan and I need to go now and make sure we settle this all out with Erudite and Dauntless deputies." Caleb says

"Uh Caleb Dauntless are on their way now you have to deal with the Erudite. Make sure you fill out the cirme sheet papers and be as specific as possible" Max says

"We will Max." Susan says

"See you later Tris" Caleb says walking out the door. Susan scurrys off with him down the hallway.

I am left there emotionless. I don't understand. My mom.. Had 2 kids.. Maybe even more.. With different guys.. But one thing I still don't understand is.. Who the hell is Caleb's dad? Could it be Marcus!? Who!!?

And one other thing... What else does Caleb know that I don't? Should I tell him what my father did to me?

And this one has always haunted me, and it will for my whole life since I really can not ever get the real amswer to it. Why did she even stay with him? Was if because she was afraid to get rid of him, or was it because he was rich and part of the government.

I guess we will never know.
