chapter 29
———

Third Person POV
"GUYS, GET UP!" Jane's loud voice was the first voice to be heard that morning. She wore a purple shirt with black jeans and black hightop boots. "IT'S THANKSGIVING MORNING!!"

Zane's door flew open and out came Zane in some black boxers and a white shirt. "Great, now wake me up when it's Christmas."

Zane went to shut his door but Jane ran up to it, putting her boot in front of it.

"Come on, be a little more excited!" Jane encouraged. "It's finally Thanksgiving!!"

"Shut up, woman!" Lucas yelled from inside his room. "I'm trying to sleep!"

"Lucas, don't be rude." Lillian came out of her room. "Now, get out of that bed so we can make it in time for Thanksgiving."

"Why do we even need to leave the house?" Zane asked.

"Because sleepyhead, Thanksgiving wouldn't be the same if we didn't celebrate it with all of us" Lillian explained. "So this is our tradition every holiday. Besides, you wanna win that pancake medal from Asher, don't you?"

Zane's mood changed instantly. "Well if you mention that, then that would be a good reason to get up this early."

"Ms. L, don't encourage him with nonsense" Lucas said when he opened his room door. "He should know that he can't win that medal to save his life."

"Well, we won't know that for sure if he doesn't try now won't we?" Lillian asked.

Zane give Lucas a smug smile, which he returned with rolled eyes.

"Whatever" Lucas grumbled. "Just don't complain when you start getting sick."

"If I do, I'll just throw it up on you" Zane countered.

"And when you do, you'll be wondering where you two front teeth went" Lucas countered.

Zane went to open his mouth but closed it as soon as Lillian held up a hand.

"Enough of this, boys" Lillian ordered. "You can argue about this after you take a shower and when we get there. Got it?"

"Yes, Ma'am" They agreed.

Lillian went into Nora's room and flicked her lights on and off. "Nora, sweetie, you have to get up....before your slot for the pancake medal is stolen."

Nora rubbed her eyes. "Okay, Mom."

She slowly walked out of her room towards the bathroom. Lillian then went to knock on Nathan's door next but he had already opened it.

Nathan was dressed in black jeans and a red hoodie with white sneakers, letting you know that he was already ready.

"Wow, you're awake already" Lillian said. "I'm impressed."

"Yeah, I've been prepared for these holiday mornings" Nathan shrugged. "Now, all there is is for the other three to get ready."

"See, you two should take from example" Jane said.

"Don't bring that up" Lucas grumbled.
