chapter 19
———

Nathan's POV
"I'm still mad at you, you two-faced duck sucking oak tree!" Emma said.

"Shut it, ya damn gremlin" Lucas grumbled.

"Why don't you make me, you four eyed snake!" Emma kicked Lucas' right bottom cheek with her foot.

"OW! What the hell was that for?!" Lucas yelled.

"For calling me a gremlin" Emma answered. "Insult my height again and I will assault you for your actions."

"Just say you gonna kick the shit outta him" Isaac pleaded.

"No vulgar language is coming out of my mouth." Emma folded her arms.

"Guys, shush" Zane put a hand up, making us go quiet the moment we heard talking.

Once the talking stopped, Zane put his hand down.

Zane sighed. "I never get tired of doing that."

"I'm sure you do" Jane put a hand on Zane's shoulder. "Now, you all know the drill."

We nodded and Jane, the boys and I were the first ones to walk away. We entered through the double doors of the gym and sat down by the black and white polka doted wall.

Just as we sat down, Sofia and Isaac walked in. They had been talking to each other about something while Xena quietly walked behind them. Emma was the last one to walk in.

"Alright class, get changed into your gym clothes" Our gym teacher, Coach Brel, instructed. "Since you all completed the dodgeball game last week, you get free time today kiddos."

"Ayo Sin, pass the ball!" Zane said as he blocked Lucas in front of the net.

I bounced the ball from hand to hand. "Hmm, I don't really want to."

"Dude, pass the ball" Zane said.

"Hmm...." I hummed.

"Don't hmm me, pass the damn ball!" Zane said, clearly annoyed.

"Fine" I shrugged. "Just hope you can catch it."

I bounce passed the ball over to Zane, who caught it and he aimed it into the net.

"See? I can handle anything" Zane bragged.

Lucas scoffed. "Yeah, right."

"It's true" Zane argued. "I can handle anything with ease."

"Well...I wouldn't say with ease but sure, believe what you want" I shrugged.

"You too?!" Zane asked. "Fine, then name one thing I couldn't handle."

"Mom's spicy soup—" I answered.

"Relationships" Lucas answered.

Zane coughed in an offensive way. "Oh, so that's how it is, huh?"
