Nathan's POV
"Oh, I almost forgot!" Jane spoke.
"What?" Zane asked.
"The Halloween party is next week" Jane answered. "Every student has to attend it."
"Every student?" Lucas asked.
"Yup" Jane answered. "Are you guys gonna go?"
"Well, if I don't have anything important to do that day, then maybe" Sofia answered.
"Count me in" Isaac answered.
"We go with you anyways so yeah" Zane answered.
"Eh, I don't really feel like it" Xena answered.
"My answer's no" Emma huffed.
"What, why?!" Jane whined.
"Jane, I don't even like school as it is" Xena answered. "Going there at night with a bunch of kids I already dislike? That's just a waste of my time."
"Plus, a school party doesn't sound productive in the slightest" Emma added. "I already missed two minutes of class because of that monstrosity Zane brought yesterday."
"You're still mad about that?" Zane asked. "Come on, missing two minutes of class isn't bad. And he didn't even start yet so why're still complaining?"
"He marked me as tardy!" Emma answered. "Tardy, Zane!"
"Tardy isn't bad, you know?" Lucas said.
"I've never been tardy in my life" Emma argued.
"Perfect time to feel alive" Zane argued.
"Ugh, your so frustrating!" Emma yelled.
"I get that a lot" Zane shrugged. "So when does this start?"
"It's on Friday in the next two weeks" Jane added. "So I really want you guys to come."
Xena sighed. "I'm really hoping there isn't gonna be a punch bowl there."
"Why?" Zane asked.
"So it doesn't get spiked by the boys" Xena answered.
"But everything turns out to be boring if it's not" Zane argued.
"Great, I can't even get a drink without something happening" Xena complained.
"Honestly, I don't see this as necessary" Emma argued. "Parties won't do anything for me or my grades."
"Trust me, it will" Isaac told her. "Just you wait."
"Are you really one to reassure her about grades?" Sofia asked, raising an eyebrow.
"It's not about grades specifically" Isaac answered. "But I'll get into that another day."
"I don't even think I have anything to wear" Xena mumbled.
"It's just Halloween costumes" Jane shrugged off. "You'll find something."
