"So what now?" Lauren asked Roy as she leaned against the door of the ambulance that'd been called to attend any wounded that may have come out from Vega Industries. Roy had several cracked bones all throughout his hand and despite him saying that he was fine he agreed to let the doctors bind his hand. He was waiting to go to the hospital right now and was sitting in the tail end of the ambulance it what little bit of a shirt he had left. His horns were still out and he had no idea how to make them go back into his head which he desperately wanted to before his step-dad found out about him not being human. "We're done, the case is closed."

"And what case might that be?" Roy asked wincing ever so slightly as one of the EMT's dabbed some alcohol swabs on his arm and head. "As I remember it you guys were hired to clear a travel route, not solve some mystery."

"Well you know what I mean." Lauren said kicking at the ground before letting her eyes wander up to his now gold rimmed eyes. "For the past week and a half or so I've been working with Leon. Now that this is over I'm not so sure what I should be doing. Everything I was so concerned about before seems so- I don't know ordinary now."

"Ordinary?" Roy repeated looking up at her questioningly. "Lauren, we live in a world where humans and demons coexist with the other. I'd say that's about as unordinary as it gets. But if you mean that it might be quieter now that you're not trying to find out what's happening with Adapt then yeah it might be slightly ordinary.

"But if it's any consolation, Leon's still contracted to clear out the northern route by Vega Industries, so that might be a little exciting." Lauren made a comment on how she didn't think Leon would even be getting paid for the first job and why he would bother finishing a job that Vega had given them. "Well I won't defend that Vega tried to kill us. But Vega wasn't Vega Industries; there are still those of whom Leon can get his payment from. And if that's not enough there's the Collaboration Festival next week for us to look forward to."

"Speaking of," Lauren said sitting down beside Roy when the EMT finished what he was doing, her gaze falling instantly to the large blue "jewel" that'd emerged from his forehead. She didn't want to bring up what she thought about Kayos being his biological father to either him or Leon because she didn't know how they would take it, considering how they already couldn't stand the other. "Are you going?"

"I don't know..." Roy said with a small smile forming reopening the bit of dried blood on his bottom lip. He didn't seem to care though as he slipped his hand into hers and leaned in a little closer to her. "It all depends on whether or not you'd be willing to go with me?"

Ignoring how cheesy Roy was being in that moment Lauren just leaned in and gave him a light kiss and told him that she would. When they pulled apart she couldn't help but taste a little bit of blood but she made no mention of it. As she looked up at him she couldn't help but notice that the jewel like object was slowly beginning to disappear beneath his skin, and that his horns weren't sticking out of his hair anymore. This she did have to make a comment on and Roy looked as surprised as she was by the discovery, turning to look at himself in the reflective window. Seeing know jewel on his forehead and feeling no horns Roy let out a laugh.

"I'll be damned." He said turning back to her and giving her another smile that warned her that he was about to get cheesy again. "It's because of you, you know? You help me stay human."

"Roy," Lauren said sounding a bit skeptical as she spoke. "I know I'm about to sound like a real bitch right now, but we just met like not even two weeks ago. Don't you think it’s a little early to be saying stuff like that?"

To that Roy's smile just grew a bit more as his lips parted to give her a glimpse at his teeth. "Well what can I say?" He said holding onto her hand with both of his. "When you know, you know."
