Sorry for the long wait guys, finals and what not have kept me from working on anything really. It's short and whatnot but I think it does the job of telling you what the vibe of the place is now. Enjoy! :)

~*~*~*~Lauren~*~*~*~

Lauren had to stop and take a rest after having run as fast as her aching body would allow for over twenty minutes straight. She still hadn't quite recovered from being caught in that demon net with Roy, in fact every time she took a step it was like a another jolt was being sent through her body. But she had to find a PET so she could get help for Roy back in Canal Park. But there was really no one out right now, the streets were absolutely dead right now. Aside from the occasional car that flew by her Washington DC looked like a complete ghost town.

Her head snapped up though at the sound of an all too familiar voice echoing through the near empty streets. That was Natalia, Lauren thought to herself pulling off of the light post she'd been leaning on and doing her best to try and figure out where it'd come from. Wait that might not be the best idea, Lauren thought to herself wiping the bit of sweat from her brow. Natalia wouldn't scream like that in a place like this unless she absolutely had to, and if something had just made someone as strong as she was use her ability than should Lauren really be trying to run straight towards it? But Natalia might need help... What kind of help could I give though, Lauren couldn't help but think. Natalia was plenty strong so what could Lauren really offer in the ways of help?

"Hey!" Lauren heard a voice call out and she turned her head to see a blue haired girl running towards her with her arm up in the air. Crystal! Lauren almost wanted to scream as she hurried toward one of Leon's only human friends outside of her. "Lauren what in the holy hell are you doing out here chick? Don't you know there's an order out right- Whoa what happened to you?"

"Never mind that can I use your PET?" Lauren asked grabbing the other girl by the shoulders. "Please tell me you have it on you!"

"Yeah sure just let me get you out of the streets." Crystal said fishing in her pocket and producing her small PET.

Lauren was about to take the little device when the streets started blaring the loud and unmistakable Savage demon siren before the night air was suddenly filled with the echoing of gunshots, and a lot of them. Both girls got down to a crouch when Crystal grabbed Lauren by the hand and led her back the way she'd come from. As they moved along Lauren couldn't help but notice dozens probably even hundreds of faces suddenly appear in the windows of all the buildings around her, they all looked scared but at the same time she knew that their curiosity wouldn't allow them to not see what was happening.

The two of them had turned toward and ordinary looking apartment building, and once inside Lauren opened the PET and searched for Leon's number. The screen went black for a moment before the small telephone icon appeared on the screen. But before it rang even once the icon was quickly replaced by a message informing her that the number wasn't reachable. Her being as worked up as she was Lauren all but snarled at the PET before she searched for Nick's number, her thumb was a mere inch from the screen when a girl wearing heavy eye makeup flew down the stairs and upon seeing Crystal she let out a sound somewhere between a laugh and  sob before she hugged the blue haired girl. Lauren remembered that Crystal had mentioned she was into girls and she pieced together that this was her girlfriend, but that's not what stopped her from hitting the call button on the PET. What stopped her is what came out of the girl's mouth after Crystal had wrenched herself free of her grip.

"Chris the president's just been attacked." That made Lauren's head snap up at the blond girl as she went on about what'd happened. "She was holding a press conference about the Uprisings when a bomb went off."
