When I did wake it was to blaring bright lights of the hospital.

Oh great another hospital trip, cause these weren't getting old.

When was my last trip, like a month ago? Not even?

It was May when I was in Croatia, so right, about a month ago.

June was off to a great start.

I shielded my eyes from the white light and saw tubes stuck into my hands by needles.

I cringed and sat up.

The nurse looked terrified and insisted I lay back down.

She ran out of the room and came back in just moments later with a doctor and another nurse. They tried to shut the door but the trio shoved their way inside, teary-eyed to see me okay.

The nurses looked annoyed with them and scolded them to back up while I was examined.

I had too many questions right now, like why was I here? What happened? Why are there needles in my hand? What the fuck is happening?

Instead of asking a normal question my unfiltered dizzy mind blurted out "what the fuck did I do now?"

The trio looked relieved I seemed like my old self and the doctor gave me instructions in German but I wasn't cognitive enough to properly respond and started crying.

They tried asking me what was wrong but I started answering in Swahili, still crying and they gave me a minute after proceeding with more regular tests like a knee tap and a light in my eyes.

I squinted and grumbled and when the doctors left I glared at the trio like they were the reason I was there.

Remembering my first language again I asked in a drunken-sounding haze, "yo...what the fuck?" And I fell back into the bed, too tired to sit up.

Unfortunately for my inquisitive mind I fell back unconscious and didn't awaken until I was fully cognitive a few hours later.

Remembering my bizarre brief period of consciousness a few hours beforehand I wasn't shocked to be in the hospital.

I stretched and the needles in my hands weren't there anymore.

There was an Iv needle stuck in my shoulder because they couldn't find a vein in the crook of my arm like most people did.

The trio let me take in my surroundings before quietly speaking.

"__?" Francis softly spoke my name.

I answered with an 'mhmm' and he continued, "'how much do you remember?"

"Um..." I trailed off thinking, I uttered umm a few more times looking for the words to describe it as well as searching for memories before the hospital.

"I think I died."

Gilbert snorted and Francis hit his shoulder lightly.

"Almost," he voice broke a little in worry.

He leaned back into his chair.

"Por favor no, pass out again," Antonio added with a honeyed voice.

Gilbert sipped from his metallic bottle and avoided eye contact like he was upset with me.

"You nearly killed us," he finally mumbled.

"Gil," Antonio warned.

"What Gil means is you gave us all heart attacks," Francis explained slowly as if I wouldn't be able to process things.
