"Didn't take you for the sexy red swimsuit type," Gilbert purred.

"Just so you can see my abs and remember I'm not so weak," I retorted.

"We've seen your abs before Chica," Antonio chuckled, "need we remind you of the other night?"

"No, you needn't," I said quickly and he laughed at me.

"We know you aren't weak Chica, we just also know how dangerous having an aura like yours can be."

"Venus flytraps like you often die because the threats they lure are too much to handle," Francis explained worriedly.

"I appreciate your concern but when I'm actually paying attention it's pretty hard to hurt me," I explained.

"Okay Chica, that's why you got stabbed as soon as we left you alone."

I elbowed him hard and he choked on his words. Gilbert laughed at him and they quickly reformed their protective shield around me on our way find a nice place to eat, hopefully with karaoke where we could show off.

I felt a twinge in my gut again and sped up my pace without revealing to them why I'd done so.

"Where are we eating again, I'm starving?" I lied.

Francis checked his phone and directed us through the grid system of New York.

"You know Aaron burr set of the grid system," I informed out of nowhere.

They gave a Hmm, so I'd know they heard me.

"Isn't he a character from that musical, Hamilton, that you like?" Francis asked still looking at the map on his phone.

I nodded, "Yeah, he murdered the main character."

"Suddenly this play sounds more interesting," Antonio commented and I pushed him lightly.

Francis grumbled at his phone.

"These stupid phones I can never figure this stuff out," he growled and paused in his tracks moving the phone around trying to figure out where we were on the map.

Gilbert snatched it from him, "calm down francy-pants, I got this."

Gilbert only had to tap the phone for a moment and it started speaking the directions.

"Oh my god you guys, it's a grid system we don't need a GPS to find out where we're going."

"Apparently we do," Antonio argued and shrugged.

I rolled my eyes at them and within fifteen minutes of walking, I didn't want to do we arrived.

"Subway would've been faster," Gilbert said whenever I'd complain about walking.

"Subway is creepy."

"You liked it this morning," Antonio commented.

"Yeah and now I feel like death when I go in there, okay?" I snapped and he raised his hands up in defense and I sighed.

"Does that happen often? I know you said it hasn't been happening as often now that you've been with us, but what about before then?"

"Once a week a least. The scariest times were in the deep forests when I was supposed to be alone. I only get those attacks around dangerous people." I explained and shivered remembering the time in the Appalachian mountains. I'd gone off trail and I felt someone's presence. I had to abandon everything and run until I couldn't feel him anymore.

I had to drink from creeks and I was lost for a week all alone.

My mom had reported me missing so when I turned back up she insisted I stay home for a week or so.
