"WOOOOO!" Leon shouted sticking his head out the window as he drove across the horribly uneven terrain. Lauren was bouncing around in the front seat hitting her head on the ceiling despite her seatbelt for what was probably the thousandth time since they came went off the road a few miles back. Tree limbs crashed into the windshield and behind her Lauren could hear Nick getting tossed around even more than she was but he refused to wear his seatbelt.

"Damn I love going off road!" Leon said pulling his head back in the window just before they flew by a tree so close to them that it took off the rearview mirror. Lauren shot him a look as she put her arms to the roof of the car and her legs up against the door and the dashboard, effectively creating a little box out of herself in hopes of preventing herself from hitting her head again. But with Leon's driving she wasn't quite sure that it was doing her a lot of good because he'd been flooring it as soon as he turned into the trees. Though she knew he wouldn't be driving so recklessly if the car they were in had been his Camaro, but rather a large military Humvee style truck. "Where's the checkpoint Nicky?"

"It's uhh- I think it's straight ahead." Nick said just before Leon ran over a root that sent both Lauren and Nick into the air for a moment, slamming into the roof of the car before landing back in their seats.

"That's it!" Lauren said turning to Leon and grabbing the steering wheel and pulling on it so that the truck ran into a large tree ripping it right out of the ground instead of stopping them. "Slow down would you? That last one hurt!"

Leon rolled his eyes and took his foot off the gas pedal bringing the truck to a dead stop nearly making Lauren bash her face off the dashboard. Nick on the other hand came flying from the back seat so that he was lying in between her and Leon still looking at his PET as if nothing had even happened. Some of the things that they'd brought with them however came flying over Lauren's shoulder just narrowly missing her head and hitting the windshield. She glared over at Leon who had his arms crossed over his chest and looking at her accusingly as if it were her fault that they were in this predicament.

"I said slow down not stop." She muttered not wanting to look at Leon in his dumb little explorer's outfit made of a tan button up shirt over a white-t and some tan cargo shorts and some hiking boots. He even had a damn hat but it was attached to a string and around his neck as he looked at her. Try as she might Lauren couldn't help but find the outfit as cute as it was dumb but she wasn't going to dare say such a thing out loud lest she'd never hear the end of it. "I'm not as durable as you two."

"Well if you recall I told you to bring a helmet." Leon said to her waving his hand about as if he were saying the most obvious thing in the world. "Had you listened to me we wouldn't be having this conversation and we would've been to the checkpoint in-"

"Five minutes." Said Nick still not bothering to look up at them.

"Five minutes!" Leon said throwing his hands up in the air and giving Lauren a nasty look. "But nooo little Miss Killjoy has to go slowly because she didn't want to bring a helmet."

"Are you trying to say-" Lauren stopped herself and rubbed her eyelids before adding on. "Okay fine but can you at least try and not hit every single bump or root that you see-"

"No problem!" Leon said before she could finish gunning it again making Lauren fly back in her seat and Nick fly back into the back of the truck again.

"God I hate you!" Lauren screamed as they sped through the forest.

Dr. Ramon came into the control room for the prisoner's cage, his features were tight with distraught as he briskly walked over to where Kayos was standing with his hand on the pommel of his sword as it always was. Ramon ordered all of the lower scientists to give him every single reading that they had in the past twenty-four hours. Kayos scoffed at the good doctor and his readings as he turned to look out the window at the sealed off passage on the floor. It was ten feet in diameter so there wasn't a lot of room to move but as far as Kayos was concerned he shouldn't be moving at all but the execs thought it best to keep the conniving worm alive.
