Lilith regrets complaining because like Jacob promised, they had reached Sam's home in less than five minutes after she had sucked up her complaining and kept up with Jacobs's pace. She figured it was best to just get it over with and her there as quick as possible so she could relax quicker. She just hoped that Jacob would be willing to give her a ride back home instead of walking. Lilith observed the home and noticed the openness of the home that was similar to the Cullen's home, but, the aesthetic was much different and much more down to earth—almost homier.

"It's beautiful." Lilith complemented as she looked around the outside of the home.

"I'm sure it's not as fancy as the Cullen home, but, yeah, it's definitely homey." Jacob said as they began to walk towards the front door, "Also, when you see Sam's fiancée, don't stare. It bugs Sam." The girl's eyebrows furrowed in confusion at Jake's words but nodded anyway. She wondered what it was about Sam's fiancée that would cause her to stare and what was the story behind it and why it would bug Sam so much. But, she knew if someone was staring at her it would bug her too if it was making her uncomfortable—and that in itself would bug Edward usually, so she could understand at the same time.

Lilith followed Jacob inside as they got closer towards the loud and buzzing group of people that she could hear from outside that was the pack. They walked through a home towards a large open plan kitchen and dining area where the same men that stood in Jacob's home when she first woke up earlier were all sat and eating with a few more unfamiliar faces.

"Hey, Jake!" One of them called once they saw him walk towards them and got up from his seat and greeted Jake with a guy handshake, "I see you've brought Lilith with you." He said and pulled Lilith into a small hug as a welcome greeting.

"You guys wanted to meet her." Jake shrugged and then pointed and introduced all of the pack mates to Lilith, all of which waving and saying hello when it was their turn. It was slightly overwhelming to try and learn as many names and faces as she had to, but, she didn't want to show them that she was overwhelmed as she didn't want it to come off as a weakness to them.

Lilith wanted to keep the fake smile on her face for as long as she could and she hoped that it would eventually turn into a real one. She could sense the energies from the pack were nothing but good, and she had a small sense of hope that it would rub off on her as well.

"It smells wonderful in here." Lilith spoke up, wanting to start off on a light and positive note with everyone and saw the perfect opportunity to do so once the fragrances from whatever was cooking hit her nose.

A dark haired woman strolled into the room from out back, "That would be from me." She said and walked over towards Lilith and pulled her into a warm and tight embrace, one that made Lilith feel weak at the knees but like it was healing her from the inside at the same time. It was shocking at how much this woman could do with such a simple action, "I'm Emily, Sam's fiancée."

Lilith pulled away and smiled at Emily, noticing the scars on the side of her face but not dwelling on it for more than a moment and kept her gaze in Emily's eyes, remembering Jacob's warning, "I'm Lilith." The blonde girl introduced back, and she looked at Emily and she noticed the small look of realisation once she had said her name.

"Hmm, so... you're the witch who's in love with a vampire." She recalled to Lilith after remembering the stories she had heard about it from Jacob and the rest of the pack. She thought it was strange that a witch would love a vampire considering their history, but, she didn't judge because she knew sometimes love could just slap you in the face when you least expected it with someone you couldn't of imagined. She of all people knew that, it was just a pain to stop the pack from ripping into her about it because it was so strange to hear and so uncommon in their world.

Lilith rocked on her feet awkwardly, "Was." She corrected and Emily sent her a look of sympathy once she noticed how she had said the wrong thing, "I, uh... was the witch who was in love with a vampire." She didn't have any magic anymore and she didn't have Edward either, so that left her with pretty much nothing. Lilith looked over at Jacob and he shared the same look as he did when they were walking towards Sam's house. He was beginning to see how mentioning her situation was affecting her and made a mental note to change the subject if it came up around the both of them to help.

"Oh, I'm so sorry." Emily gasped as she placed a hand over her mouth. She didn't know the extent of Lilith's situation, she only knew that the basics and how the Cullens had left town and Sam had found her in the woods.

Lilith shook her head and waved her hand dismissively, "No, it's okay, you probably didn't know." She shrugged. Even if Emily did know, she didn't want her to feel too badly about bringing it up, it wasn't like Lilith could be a fragile flower for the rest of her life. She had to move on eventually and she shouldn't cry whenever someone brought up Edward or her magic. She had to rebuild and crying about the past wasn't going to help that at all.

"We should probably get some sugar into her, she fainted earlier." Jacob mentioned and Emily immediately sprung from her spot and ran over towards the kitchen while Lilith sent a quick glare to Jacob for bringing it up.

"You don't have to do that." The blonde disagrees while she watches Emily bring a tray of muffins over towards them, "Oh, blueberry." Her eyes lit up.

"I had these saved when Jake said that you were coming." Emily told her as she placed the tray on the table, slapping the boy's hands away once they tried to reach for it, "There's always more where that came from anyway, so feel free to dig in. And don't be afraid to ask for more."

"She cooks nonstop, it's great." Embry informed her as Lilith sat down on the chair across from him and reached for the muffin in front of her, moaning once the warm and fresh flavours hit her tongue, "This house always smells like a bakery or something and she feeds us constantly. How great is that?"

"She feeds you because you're fat." Jared joked and lightly shoved him, the chair scraping across the wooden floor as Embry tried to catch his balance.

Embry narrowed his eyes, "Speak for yourself. You've got boobs." He retorted and Jared dramatically gasped and covered his chest with his hands.

"Why are you looking? You know these boobs are for Kim only—and for your information, she likes my boobs." Jared argued back while Lilith watched in amusement at what was happening in front of her.

Paul rolled his eyes and lightly smacked the both of them as he walked passed them, "Grow up, you're freaking Lilith out with your weirdness."

"Paul is the grumpy one out of all of us." Jared told her quietly and Lilith let out a small 'oh' at the information. She could definitely tell that was the case considering he had a sour look on his face from the moment she walked in, and his sour look matched his equally gruff tone.

"Heard that." Paul called out from the kitchen as he was placing his plate in the sink.

"You were meant to." Emily joined in on the banter, "Your lack of smiling is most likely going to freak Lilith away rather than Embry and Jared's bromance."

Paul shrugged, "She used to hang out with vampires, it's not like she hasn't seen a lot worse. She can handle me glaring at her." He said casually and Lilith's smile dropped a little at the small jab. How deep of a hatred did Paul have when it came to the Cullens? Or was it just the vampire species in general?

It was Emily's turn to slap Paul upside the head lightly and the boy flinched and gave her a look of disbelief, "Either way, she's a witch, show some respect." She scolded him lightly. Emily was always taught that if she were to ever to come in contact with a witch to treat them respectfully as they could either bless you with greatness or ruin your life for good. And Emily didn't exactly want her life to be ruined for the rest of her life when it was just beginning to get better.

"I agree." Sam said as he walked in the room and he went straight to his fiancée, pressing kisses all over her face while she giggled, "Even if she faints at the sight of a wolf." He joked, winking at her while she blushed and placed her face in her hands.

"Aw, is the munchkin blushing?" Jared cooed as he reached over the table to pinch at her cheeks and the girl tried to slap his hands away while her blush intensified when he pointed it out. She tried to ignore the slight twinge to the heart at the nickname as it was what Emmett always used to call her, but, with a small reminder that she was moving on, it didn't affect her as much as she thought it would which meant she was doing better already just by being with the wolves.

"It's okay, she knows the wolves won't hurt her." Jake said as he flicked her nose, the girl narrowing her eyes at how much she was being picked on.

"Okay, that's enough bullying for now. We've got to go." Sam announced and the boys all groaned as they got up, "We'll leave the girls to talk while we're out."

"What's going on?" Lilith questioned Jake as she didn't understand why they all had to leave.

"Patrol." He answered and he watched as Lilith made a look of confusion again, "Apparently Bella let it slip to Charlie that she saw wolves out in the woods, and now that's what they think has been murdering people so we have to go out there and help Harry cover our tracks while they simultaneously hunt for us."

Wolves weren't the type to murder innocent people without motive or unless they were seriously out of control, and from what Lilith could tell—there weren't exactly that many wolves in Forks so if it was an uncontrollable wolf, the Uley pack would've already taken care of it, "Oh, okay." Lilith responded. "Stay safe, I guess." She said to the pack and Jake let an appreciative nod as he and the rest of the pack began to run towards the thickness of the trees.

"They'll be okay." Emily told her as she began to clear up the dining table from the mess the boys had created, "They never really get themselves into too much trouble that they can't handle."

"Let's hope it stays that way then." Lilith spoke as she went to help Emily clear up. She never really liked to see people get hurt, even if they were practically strangers because she knew that they meant something to someone. The pack meant a lot to Emily and their families and partners, and yet they were apart of something dangerous. It was only natural to worry, but, she could see that Emily had faith in them and believed in them to always come back safe.

Lilith just wished that she had some magic that she could use to look out for them even further because it never hurt to do something to help out someone else, even when they didn't know it. Because she could tell that the pack had opened their arms for her and welcomed her—even Paul, with his grumpy tendencies—and she wanted to protect them and look out for them like they had done for her.

The blonde walked over to the sink and began to wash up the dishes, even after a long argument with Emily about it, she had finally agreed to let Lilith wash up while she dried the dishes, "You know... Sam told me about the night he found you." Emily spoke after a long period of comfortable silence. Lilith peered over at her before looking back at the plate that she was washing. Emily must've been talking about the first time that Sam saved her, since Lilith couldn't really remember when it was, it only made sense that Sam was the one who carried her out of the woods that night, "He told me how broken you were." Emily continued with a look of sympathy on her face.

Lilith huffed lightly, "Yeah, I was." She recalled the moments of that night all too well and everything else that happened after it—and she probably will for the rest of her days, "I still am, to be honest with you, but, I don't want to keep crying about it."

"From what Sam told me of that night, I can see you've come a long way. From what I know, breakups are never easy when you're so irrevocably in love with someone and you don't want to let the relationship die." Emily said wisely, "I've been where you are before—maybe not to the same extent, but, I know what it's like to have my heart broken. So, if you want to talk to someone that won't judge, I'm here." Lilith looked over at Emily, noticing the glint in her eyes that she was telling the truth and that she had been through something similar before, "I don't expect you to do it now. You don't have to do it at all if you're not comfortable. But, just know that the offer is there." Emily backtracked when she thought she might of overstepped her boundaries with the blonde already.

She knew she couldn't compare her situation with Lilith's as she wasn't the one who lost all of her magic and everything else she's been through, but, she hoped that she and Lilith could find somewhere in the middle to bond over. Lilith couldn't help but smile at Emily's caring nature, "It's okay, I might take you up on your offer one day. But, it's something I'm still processing and I don't want to throw that all at you just yet."

"Take your time, there's no rush." The girl said as she began to put away the dried plates and cups.

"So, how did you and Sam meet?" Lilith asked as she sat down at the bench, watching as Emily placed things away.

Emily then chuckled nervously, "Yeah, our story isn't that romantic as one might believe. We actually didn't start off on the best path." She explained to the blonde, "He was dating my cousin all throughout high school and when she brought me over to visit, he ended up dumping her for me because he knew I was the one."

Lilith choked on her spit, "What?"

"I refused to go out with him for the longest time because I knew it would hurt my cousin to do so and I didn't like what he had done. There were a lot of arguments between everyone because of what happened and I would always just try to push him away because I didn't want to be with someone like that." Emily continued and Lilith couldn't help but imagine the chaos that would've arisen with a situation like that, "But, eventually, I couldn't help but feel what he did and after a reluctant blessing from Leah, we started to date and I fell in love with him."

"And what about Leah?" Lilith couldn't help but ask.

Emily frowned lightly as she felt a spark of guilt flash through her even know she knew that she couldn't help what had happened between her and Sam, "She mainly keeps her distance now, even when she agreed to let us see each other. I don't blame her either, if I had to see that I'd probably be uncomfortable as well."

Lilith didn't know what to say in the moment, it was a strange one all around and she couldn't help but feel bad for all parties involved. Everyone in that love triangle lost something even if Emily and Sam gained a relationship out of it, "It seems like she just wants you guys to be happy."

"I want that for her as well." Emily admitted, "I'm just feel horrible that I was the one who took away that chance for her."

"She'll forgive you. You're her family." The blonde gave a sympathetic smile. Family always came back to each other one way or another, because sometimes at the end of the day, all you ever had was your family.

"After everything, would you forgive the Cullens?" Emily questioned. Jacob had told her that the Cullens has treated Lilith like family when they still lived in Forks, and he had explained how distraught she was for months after they left—she could tell she still wasnt okay, and she couldn't even imagine how much worse it was before—but, if what she was saying about family forgiving each other, then surely what Lilith was saying to her about Leah would apply to the Cullens also.

To her, there wasn't really a point in giving someone forgiveness if they didn't ask for it, and at that moment, the Cullens didn't want it from her. Lilith couldn't help but shrug as she mumbled out a small, "I don't know, maybe."
